Absolutely love the boxes. I love the snack selections and how bizzare they can be. I could never gets snacks like this where I live. I do wish they would put two of the small snacks in the boxes. I feel like you can't really fully enjoy the small single snacks with just one. But all in all, 5 star product.
Abysmal Customer Service, Melted Chocolates, Slow Shipping and Grossly Overpriced
We requested a 3-month subscription and were pretty happy with it despite the fact that the initial charge of $100.50 apparently doesn't include the cost of shipping and were then charged an additional $10.95 for every box. (That's $44.45 per box which is rather steep for what it is. Several other boxes are half the price)
And despite the steep shipping charges all but 1 box was greatly delayed by weeks, which is fair given the current COVID situation, but rather annoying given the high price.
All of the chocolate items were melted beyond recognition, which again is to be expected from long shipping in the summer but for the high price surely, they could have done something to mitigate this. Especially given that the KitKats are one of the main draws and most of the other items are just repeats (a lot of similar cookies, umaibo, corn/vegetable puffs, etc)
--- But what really put us off was that apparently the subscription auto renews without notification. There was no notification via email, text, etc or communication prior to this happening. The moment my card was charged (for another 3 months@ $100.50 and you better be sure they'll want those extra shipping fees later too) I was notified by my card's company and I filed a ticket with Tokyo Treat and was told there was nothing they could do despite the fact that they hadn't shipped anything yet.
"Subscription cancellation won't affect the current order, it will only affect the next order. We will still ship the boxes that you have paid for and can't refund it."
"We're sorry to say that we can't refund any payments that have already been processed through our system, but we of course will still be sending you the last box you have paid for!"
Total BS that they can't refund... of course they can they just don't want to.
They are standing high on their policy that it states in their customer portal when they will auto-renew. How many people actually log back into a customer portal on a subscription box?!
None of this would have happened if they would have just sent an email, like every other subscription service does, before they charged my card.

I have really missed Japan since I visited last year and am waiting for when it's okay to travel again and go back so this box gives a feeling of being back that I really needed right now
I've been getting TokyoTreat for over a year now, and that's after subscribing and saying "okay, just this one box". I love the variety of snacks every month, and I always feel like I'm getting a great deal. Here's to many more boxes!
Arrived quickly and all in tact. Very yummy! The treats were well chosen and lots of fun, my friends and I enjoyed them together.

This was my third time ordering from Tokyo Treat and they never fail to amaze me! I got a subscription every time and loved all of them, will definitely be ordering more. My sister especially the younger one is always super excited to see all of the things and enjoys all of the candy we get. It's great for sharing with younger siblings as it's such an experience for them. Definitely recommend 10/10!

This happened a year ago, but out of 3 boxes that were supposedly sent to me, I only got 1. I messaged them and they told m it was sent, and to check with my postal office. That was it, they did absolutely nothing else to try to help me, and didn't refund me.
Fast shipping to Australia and more variety than I was expecting. Very impressed! My son was so excited to receive this as he is obsessed with Japanese culture

Tokyotreat do great subscription boxes.
Each month the box has a drink normally limited to Japan plus a big selection of sweet and savoury treats.
Most months there are kitkats with an unusual flavour combination but they are always most excellent.
The savoury snacks are so tasty with umami, salt and sour tastes perfectly balanced.
Answer: It is one of the worst ones out there. If anything goes wrong they refuse any sort of customer service. No refunds, no placements even if the box never arrives.
