Good wuality
January 19, 2026

Quality was good but shipping flexibility is not available. Travel a lot and like to coordinate shipping so I am home to receive and plant quickly.

Thank you so much! It's hard when it comes to shipping because we freshly dig most of our plants, I'm sorry!

Great trees and shrubs at good prices!
January 18, 2026
Updated review

Works for all the reasons they tell you. Plants are easier to transport to site, plant in the ground and seem to acclimate quickly with less shock than potted plants.

Healthy plants, packed right, and ready to thrive
January 17, 2026
Updated review

My experience with TN Nursery was excellent from start to finish. The plants arrived well-packaged and protected, with healthy roots and no damage from shipping. Everything looked strong and ready to plant, and the quality matched exactly what was advertised. It's clear they take care in how plants are handled and shipped, which gives confidence they'll establish and grow successfully. TY

First two persimmon trees died first summer. Paid to return them and then two more which died the second summer.

Witch Hazel trees were excellent and all lived through the summer. We'll see this spring.

Thank you for your review, and I’m really sorry to hear about your persimmons. They can be a bit sensitive their first year, especially in heat or drought, so survival rates can vary more than with other species. I’m glad your Witch Hazel trees did great — that’s wonderful to hear.

If you’d like me to take a look at the persimmons or help you troubleshoot planting conditions for better success, please email me at help@tnnursery.net. I’m here to help however I can.

Really well rooted seedlings.
January 16, 2026

The trees sent out had a very large healthy root system. They shot up like a rocket. Very bad drought in our area when I planted and all the trees survived.

I find them very helpful. Just now I needed to be sure that a sourwood tree would grow in my Western PNW climate since my zone has changed and I am lots different from the Eastern part of the state.

I received the correct plants, but the labels were mixed up between the two kinds I ordered. I accidentally placed them in the wrong spots in my yard because of the mix up.

Thank you for your review, and I’m really sorry the labels were mixed up — that can definitely make planting confusing. The good news is that I can help you identify which plant is which so you can correct the placement if needed.

Please email me a couple of photos of each plant at help@tnnursery.net, and I’ll tell you exactly which variety is which.

I’m glad your previous plants are doing well, and I’m here to help make sure these do too!

Northern spicebush
January 7, 2026

Northern spicebush received after ground was frozen in fall 2024 so wintered in outside pots. Plants did not come back in spring 2025.

Date of experience: January 7, 2026
Bailey S. TN Nursery Rep

Thank you for your review, and I’m really sorry to hear your Northern Spicebush didn’t come back this spring. Even when the ground is frozen, dormant bare-root shrubs can still be planted as long as the soil can be dug — wintering them in pots can be tricky because they freeze harder above ground than they do in the soil.

Please email me at help@tnnursery.net with photos of the plants and your order number, and I’ll be happy to review this for you and help you with the next steps. We want you to have a good experience with us and we’ll do our best to make it right.

Decent price for excellent quality

Purchased a quantity of red bud seedlings in 2025. Arrived in good bare-root condition and nearly every one seemed to grow well in their first season. Naturalized in the edge of woodlands.

Undecided
January 1, 2026

I ordered 4 Paw Paw trees which were on the pricey side. I paid for them because they were supposed to be 4-5 feet tall. The trees never arrived and when I called the nursery they told me the trees were returned and sitting right here. I reconfirmed my address, I get deliveries almost daily, and they resent the same trees. I bring this up because they are bare root trees. When they arrived the roots were very dry and I planted them immediately, also they are only 3 feet tall. I called back and shared my concerns because I don't think the trees will survive. I was told we are notating your concerns and call us back next Spring if they do not sprout new growth. The whole experience is not confidence inspiring. My advice is go to your local nursery, lay eyes on the plants/trees you want to buy and at least you will know they were alive when you bought them. I have no idea if I paid over $200 for dead or alive trees.

Thank you for your review, and I’m truly sorry this experience has felt uncertain. I completely understand your concerns, especially with pawpaws being more delicate and slow to wake up.

Regarding the delivery issue — the first shipment was returned to us by the carrier without explanation, even though the address you confirmed was correct. When we were notified of the return, we dug and shipped a fresh new set of pawpaw trees, not the returned ones. We never resend plants that have been in transit.

Bare-root pawpaw trees will naturally look dry and simple when dormant, and their roots won’t appear moist like container-grown plants. This is normal for the season and not a sign of poor health. Pawpaws also leaf out later than many other species, which is why we advise checking for new growth in spring.

If yours appear under the listed size range, please email me photos at help@tnnursery.net, and I’ll gladly review them for a size-difference credit.

We truly want you to feel confident in what you purchased, and I’m here to help you all the way through spring. If you need planting guidance or want us to check the trees’ viability, just reach out anytime.

The dogwoods I ordered died immediately
December 27, 2025

My husband and I are avid gardeners, both with landscaping and growing vegetables for years. These trees we purchased were alive when we received them but they began to die right away.

Thank you for your review, and I’m truly sorry to hear about your dogwoods. Even with lots of gardening experience, dormant bare-root trees can be tricky because they look alive on arrival but need very specific handling in the first few weeks.

I’d be happy to take a look and see what happened. Please email me photos at help@tnnursery.net, including a quick scratch test on the stems, and I’ll make sure you’re taken care of according to our warranty.
