I had 75 cedars delivered for fall 2020, I planted properly, staked, watered, etc. In a matter of days they were all turning brown and all 75 died. I sent pics early when they were dying, I emailed them back in spring and they replied they would all have to be returned for store credit. I had my wife take them for shipping they said I would be cheaper to drive them back than ship them, not possible. Very disappointed and am out several hundred dollars. I should have read all the reviews first so I could have saved my $585.00!

I received dead dogwood trees on arrival. I planted them and they have not grown or sprouted. I have done the scratch test sent photos and requested replacements. The company has complied. They have emailed me back requesting more pictures and telling me to wait until August. I will never purchase from this nursery again.

Informative site
June 12, 2024

Lovely site. It's well organized and has enough info to make informed decisions about most plants. I would prefer to see details of the plant's growth habits in a grid or list. Scanning through paragraphs to find mature plant height and spread, zone, and soil requirements makes the shopping process a lot more tedious than it needs to be.
More general photos of the plants would also be helpful. Many of the photos are generic, and most of the photos don't show completely mature plants, which would be helpful.
Anyhoo - great nursery! I haven't received any of my orders yet, but I'm confident I'll be happy with what I get.

Return customer many times over
December 20, 2021

I love the products. You need to have patience to wait for the plants to look beautiful in the spring and/or summer. The come without leaves and bare roots but if you follow the instructions they will be beautiful and healthy when the weather turns warmer. Excellent value!

In Jan of 2015 I ordered one Contender Peach and one Red Gold Nectarine. Both received in good condition and labeled correctly.

Both broke dormancy and grew normally. Spring of 2017 the peach tree bloomed. All white not a peach colored bloom to be seen. Peaches do not bloom white. I emailed customer service and got no response. Spring of 2018 both trees are blooming. Both are solid white and appear to be the same tree.

Nectarines also do not bloom white. I don't know what trees I have. This annoys me greatly. I've given valuable space to two unknown trees for 3 years. I don't even know if they are fruit trees. These trees did not die back and regrow from root stock. They were sent wrong. Through honest error or through not caring I don't know.

"May Pinks" creeping phlox
June 12, 2024

I planted my 8 creeping phlox in 2 pots temporarily since it is sooooo hot here... they seem to be doing all right. Plan to plant in garden in fall when it's cooler to get them situated before low temps.

I purchased $160 of creeping phlox which arrived dead. I notified them, and they said it only looked dead and to plant anyway. They said they would issue a refund if it did not come back. It did not. I sent pictures. I sent many emails. I was continually told a refund was coming, and then they stopped answering. There's no way to get a refund from your credit card company once a year has gone by. Bogus promises, terrible customer service, dead plants.

Generally good quality plants
February 9, 2024

I purchased several items, mostly ferns, and they were all pretty good plants. The one exception was the Turks Cap Lilies, there were several nice bulbs but the majority of them were just little broken pieces of bulbs that won't amount to anything this year.

Bought plants on March 14 for April delivery. I contacted the company mid-April and they advised that they had just started shipping and my plants would ship by the end of the month. It is now May 6 and I still don't have my plants. Will never buy from them again.

Messaged team about dead paw paw tree sent photos, was asked to wait until later in the year. Was approved for replacement. When asked for replacement was sked to wait until the end of June because of probably late dormancy even though it was already approved. Sent new photos showing the plant was clearly dead and brown after scratch test. They keep telling me it is alive and almost 9 months since we have had it. How can you say approved, wait, and then go back on a previous approval. This is such bad customer service. All we want is our tree, we are not asking for a refund we are asking for a replacement for a dead tree that never grew since we had it.

Ordered Elderberries and black raspberres. Received dead sticks. They offered to refund my money if I waited a year, and pulled the dead sticks are returned them, but it was pretty obvious that they were dried up when I received them. Planted them as instructed (they may look dead, but plant them anyway). They were dead. Not a single one even budded.

It's been a while, but I was just cleaning out my mailbox when I came across the receipt, and got ticked off again. They wasted my time and labor just for a dollar, and I think they knew it. This was in April 2019 and they stayed dead in 2020. Orders 5998 and 5988. This lesson cost me $45.72 and $50.72 or $96.44..

This company is a fraud. I purchased 3 pine trees from them, and all arrived sick and were dead within one month. They do not offer refunds, but said they would give me $3 off and free shipping on my next order. Gee, a whole $3 off after wasting more than $100 on their garbage?

And they don't even package bare root plants with wet newspaper, soil, or hydrogel. So the roots were all bone dry after being sent across the country. No wonder they all died. Total rip-off. And they refuse to answer their phone. Go ahead, just try to talk to someone before you order.

Bottom line: Avoid Tennessee Wholesale Nursey unless you want to be treated like garbage and prefer dead plants and trees to healthy ones. Absolute garbage.

I would not call this business a nursery. Finallllly received what should have been a small flowering tree. The box contained a group of sticks with so called roots attached. Never again. Don"t make the same mistake. Select reputable online nurseries. There are sources that rate nurseries. I now use one that is very good.

Inferior Products
March 6, 2023

I ordered 2 maple shrubs and 20 Bluetts in February, 2023, total cost $76. I received 2 2' "twigs" and 2 2" square plastics bags of dirt & seeds (supposed to be bluetts). They never germinated and the planted twigs never sprouted anything green. Now (May 5) this fine company wants me to leave the twigs in the ground for another 4 mos as they insist thry are alive, despite a scratch test showing no green. They refuse to refund even though there is a 1 yr guarantee. Do not order from them! They do not stand behind their products! Working with my credit card company now for a charge back. Don't get cheated like I did!

Fast growing trees
December 20, 2021

I purchased a river birch tree from TN Nursery. It arrived dormant and I really didn't know what to expect. However, come spring, leaves started to appear and it started to grow and since then, there's been no stopping it! I'm very pleased with my tree and will definitely use them again for future tree purchases.

Reliable and fast
September 7, 2021

I have ordered serveral items and never had a bad experience. Communication is great and I am aware of every step my plant takes in getting to me.
Plants come healthy. A word to the wise: if the plant ships dormant, don't worry! Follow instructions and you will have success!
I'm planning to place an order very soon for some fall planting.

Beware of ordering ferns
September 14, 2021

I ordered 200 ferns for a spring planting. Half of these were the Bracken Fern variety which ships as a bare root. In my case it looked like a small 2-3 inch brown stick. Planting these was my first experience and I wasn't sure what they should/shouldn't look like. However many of them were crumbling and seemed like they were rotted. Since the bulk of them appeared that way I supposed that was normal.

I planted all in a well drained, moist, shaded area along with the 100 other ferns I ordered. The planting area has many varieties of moss and native ferns growing.

I gave all the ferns a couple of months to show. Not one Bracken ferns sprouted. About 85 of the other ferns sprouted at various intervals.

When I contacted Tennessee Wholesale Nursery they basically replied tough luck. Your claim is beyond 30 days.

So beware. Especially if you're spending a few hundred dollars on ferns.
