I ordered 25 Green Giant Arborvitae plants in November 2024. 8 of them died and I contacted TN Nursery for replacements. Instead they gave me a partial refund in the store credit, but only enough to buy 1 replacement plant (or 2 if I waited for a buy-one-get-one offer). When I received the store credit, I was told it never expired. Then when I tried to use it 4 months later, the website said the credit expired. All I wanted was replacements for the 8 plants that died (now 13, by the way). Instead, I was only able to get 2, and only after going back and forth with customer service numerous times.

Previous purchase came with healthy roots. No damage during shipping. Good size roots and plump. Unlike the big box stores. Planting this year. Let's see what comes up in the spring.

I ordered plants knowing that they were bare root. Some people might be surprised if they were expecting plants in pots.

Beware of Squirrels
September 14, 2025

My gingkos are beautiful and I'm proud of them, but my Virginia bluebells were dug up by the squirrels even though they aren't supposed to like them. I'm gonna reorder and try again with chicken wire this time.

Hi Tina, thank you for sharing your experience. It’s great to hear your gingkos are thriving, and we hope the chicken wire does the trick with the bluebells—sometimes nature loves a good challenge. We’re here if you need any advice or supplies to help protect your plants going forward.

Not very happy with results
September 14, 2025

I placed an order for 25 trees. I received them and myself, my wife, and daughter planted them identically. I had four die right away but was told to wait until fall to file a claim. I finally did as requested and got credit for four dead trees but in the end 11 out of 25 died.

I’m very sorry to hear about your experience and truly appreciate you taking the time to plant and care for your trees so diligently. 🌳 Our trees are shipped bare-root and dormant, which can sometimes make survival rates vary depending on weather, soil, and watering conditions after planting.

I see that we issued a credit for the trees reported within the warranty timeframe. While our policy covers replacements for verified losses, I’d be happy to personally review your order again and see what more we can do for you.

Waiting to see how they grow
September 14, 2025

Only ordered once before. Have to wait and see how the bare roots grow before giving greater credit. Delivered and in the ground. Waiting to see.

Thank you so much for giving us a try! 🌱 We’re glad to hear your order arrived safely and is already planted. Bare root plants can take a little time to show growth as they establish strong roots first. Once spring arrives, you should start to see new life emerge. We appreciate your patience and trust, and we’re confident you’ll love the results.

Definitely bare root and dormant plants
September 14, 2025

If I don't carefully research the best conditions for every plant, making sure that they are in the right soil getting the correct amount of light and pay close attention to the plants after putting them in the ground, watering as per the needs of the specific plant, protecting plants from squirrels, etc. they don't make it. Also a few don't live even with the best care.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and for choosing us for your native plants! 🌿 You’re absolutely right — bare root and dormant plants do require a bit of research and care to help them thrive, especially during their establishment phase. Even under perfect conditions, a small percentage may not survive, but your attention to detail greatly increases success. We truly appreciate your dedication to giving these plants the best start and for supporting native species.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for choosing us for your Staghorn Sumac! 🍃 We’re happy to hear some of your plants are thriving. Because we ship freshly dug, dormant bare root plants, there can occasionally be variation in appearance and early growth—but once established, they typically perform beautifully. We appreciate your feedback and your trust in us to provide unique native plants that aren’t always found locally.

Delivery miscommunication
September 7, 2025

I ordered three different pollinator plants. The order showed that they would be delivered in November. Two of them arrived the next week, right before we were going out of town. And weather in the 90s with no rain. The order online says complete, but we didn't receive the third plant. Customer service says it will come in November, but who really knows. The ones delivered early died.

Quite Disappointing
September 5, 2025

I ordered some trees for my property. Only two chestnut trees survived and growing. The rest all did not come back in the spring. Looks to me the root system was not good when arrived. SO I got half of the credit back on the trees that are dead. HALF. I place this order to give it another try on the credits I received from last year's failure. Hopefully it will change my experience. I hope they will grow as healthy as my other trees on my farm.
