Others seem to talk about misgrading books they have ordered.
So far I have bought around five books and all were in the condition
Described or even slightly better. Prices and shipping are reasonable.
Until I have a bad experience I will continue to choose them over other
Book sellers.

I always go to Thriftbooks when looking for something and I always find it at great prices. I like how they categorize the books or movies so you know the approximate condition of when you are buying. I am a big fan of Winnie the Pooh & like to collect old books - I have a lot of them... have never been disappointed...I am always telling people about this website... Thanks Thriftbooks!

I received 4 books all listed excellent and very good condition. One book the outside cover was torn pretty bad and a second book had food or a drink spilt on the front cover.

Misleading to have called the edition I purchased as "good " covers are supposed to be intact and there was no dust jacket - it should say if there is no dust jacket. It should not show it in the picture if it is not included. I have purchased quite a few books from them and this is my second purchase that was misleading.

Be careful when ordering from this website. Often your last address you had your items shipped too is the not the default address like most modern online websites. If you have multiple address listed the one selected by the website may not be the current one. It is annoying and not entirely clear when placing orders thru the google app or online. Every other website uses your last shipping address so you expect that this would be automatically selected but it is not. I lost out on $48 dollars in used books.

Long time customer who ordered 3 books separately while paying shipping on each individual order. I needed these book separately and ordered as such paying more. However, they decided to save the money I paid and shipped 2 books together. I requested my shipping back for one "order" and was denied. I guess they're so thrifty they're willing to cut corners on one's order if it pockets a dollar. Had I ordered them together my order would have been over 15 dollars and shipping would have been free!

I ordered Let's Eat Right To Keep Fit by Adelle Davis on May 3rd I wanted to return it and gave the order number ******* which they said was wrong. I checked my email confirmation number and guess what I was right. I ordered a second copy of Let's Eat Right To Keep Fit by Adelle Davis and never received it. I don't trust them. The first book was not as described it was not as described it is damaged. So now I'm stuck with a book that is damaged and for the cost of the book that I never received. All to make a lousy buck.

This seems to be a scam they're running, I am not the first one to order a book and end up being delivered a different book, have seen these reviews after what happened to me or would have never ordered, will never order from them again.

I have ordered several books from thrift books and have been delighted, up until my most recent order. I ordered four books and only three arrived -- that isn't the main issue, though, the main issue is one of the books, "Tom and Jerry's Party". Nearly every page of this book has been scissored up by someone, then was sold described as being in "good" condition when it isn't even in "acceptable" condition. This was for a gift and I am very disappointed that someone would send any product out this way, especially after claiming it is "good."
I would love to leave a review for the seller on the thriftbooks site itself, but can't find a way to do so, so I'll let it out here. Though my other books were fine and other orders have been great, this experience could make me hesitate to order from here again.

I ordered a used book that cost over $10 which I needed "immediately" for my studies. Wrong book arrived. It's "value" is $4.99. I write to Thriftbook Store to explain that I received wrong item. Could they send correct item?

No apologies, no nothing except "Contact Abe Books". They want their book back and haven't even mentioned sending me my original book I ordered. I do think this was an intentional oversight by Thriftbooks and that they are intentionally sending out lower priced books to consumers who orderd a book that cost twice as much. Think about it...easily done. Especially since having to return the wrong book(s) is a total inconvenience by someone who is "older", helping my disabled husband manage his daily activities of life, in fact returning a book I didn't want is ridiculous!

I hate Thrift books. THEY HAVE ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY PASS THE BUCK AND DON'T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!

If you are a potential Canadian customer do not patronize this book supplier. Their delivery charges are exorbitant.

I have been using them either on their site alone or through their site on eBay. They have terrific discounts and terrific prices. Their merchandise comes in great condition. Looks like it's right off of the bookstore shelf. Shipping is very quick too.

I bought a Business Math book. Perfect used book like new, the best price i found, the delivery for free and, fair time. I highly recommend Triftbooks.

I received book (Order#*******) purchased on 04/03/23. The book was supposed to be in Very Good condition. The book I received had a very tattered jacket with missing pieces, discolored cover and the pages are so yellowed, it is hard to read. Additionally, it even smells bad. It is nowhere near the condition in the photo associated with the order. Thriftbooks.com's rating system has a systemic failure, as this is the second time out of three orders this has happened to me. Sadly, the book was to be a gift. I must now find another copy somewhere else.

I have used thriftbooks for years. I prefer used books and don't mind damage. I love when people have written in books and I can see what they thought or highlighted! I love the rewards system. I have ordered books every other week for years. However, lately, I keep having shipping issues. The last few times it has taken at least 2 weeks to get my books, usually I get them in 4-5 days. But this last time their website said my package was shipped. When I clicked on USPS tracking it said the label was created but not in the system. I waited 2 weeks and this was never updated. I emailed thriftbooks and got a reply almost immediately saying this just meant USPS missed scanning it for tracking. I waited a few more days and emailed USPS. USPS actually called me from my post office and said no, this status meant the shipper created a label and never dropped off the package. So I emailed thriftbooks again and they didn't try to solve the issue by actually shipping my stuff, just issued a refund with no apology. I didn't want a refund... I wanted my books. I think thriftbooks and I will have to go on a break. If I am always having shipping issues and now I can't even know I'll eventually get my stuff it's just a waste of time. I used them to stop using Amazon but alas.

I want to thank thriftbooks for the harry potter books I ordered. The books are in absolutely amazing shape, the prices were outstanding, credit card safe and shipping arrived in 4 days.

I ordered a relatively obscure book from thriftbooks, but was sent a different title. I was then told the original book was no longer available. Hard to imagine the original book was sold to someone else within the few days following the order. I was then told that I would be issued a refund, but then was not. This is all very questionable business practice. After again following up, I was finally issued a refund. Best to stay clear of thriftbooks.

Googled a search for signed Stephen King books for Firestarter. Thriftbooks was one of the ads which specifically showed a signed page by Mr. King. This was book was a gift for a family member in the military currently overseas. The book arrived today with no signature. Representative stated multiple times that the book represented, with signature, was an ad, that it was my job to verify ISBN numbers once I selected their link from the original Google search results. I specifically asked if Thriftbooks was knowingly okay with this bait and switch. Again, I was told the original Thriftbooks ad on Google was an ad. That when it comes to their site, I should verify the ISBN numbers. This is disappointing in so many levels.

I recently purchased two hard copy books. The books arrived promptly. They were priced fairly well, considering they were used. Yard sale finds and library sales, I'd pay around 1-2 dollars per book at most but these books are shipped so paying $5-10 per book is just ok.
The problem I see is the damage the ThriftBook's stickers cause when trying to remove them. I like to not only read but display my favorite books. The only noticeable damage the books from ThriftBooks have are where the stickers were. There were 3 stickers on 2 books! Two on the spine and a larger one smack dab on the front. All three spots are now marred thanks to the overly adhesive stickers.
I know removable stickers exist as my local library uses them. I suggest ThriftBooks use those instead. The end user would appreciate it greatly.
