I ordered 2 emerald green (more than $200) and both plants are sick and died in 2 weeks.
I asked if they can do a refund or replacement, but apparently, Rachel from Customer Service said I had to buy an optional 1-year warranty. Instead, she offered a discount for the next purchase. No, thanks.
Ordered 2 emerald green for spent $200 and both plants are sick and died in 6 weeks. VERY careful about this company. I'll never using this trash company again.
I ordered 12 Tri-Color Dappled Willows. They were all planted in the same conditions, given the same watering schedule. Two of the 12 died. I reached out to the company and went through the hoops of customer service. I was told that since I did not purchase the one-year replacement on the plants, there was no guarantee that the plants would live even a basic period of time. In spite of having spent over a thousand dollars on this and some other purchases, the company offered a discount of 20% of the cost of the two plants (Basically $12.00) toward future purchases. This is akin to zero offer really.
If they choose to offer zero warranty on their plants, absent an expensive extended protection, then I certainly will choose to take my future purchases to other vendors. I'd encourage you to consider purchasing elsewhere.
The trees arrived in good shape, ready to thrive. I hope I don't kill them. Thank you for the prompt delivery and so far, they seem to be doing well.
I was sent the wrong bush. This is NOT a cardinal red hydrangea. I have been trying to get someone to call me for two weeks. Their stuff is of poor quality and they have miserable customer service. Go to a local nursery or big box store where they actually care about future business with you.
Trees were undersized. I ordered a number of trees. One variety was a 5 gal container (Ginkgo). It arrived as a 45" hgt tree, apparently The Tree Center Staff felt that since no expected height thresholds are specified on their website that there is no concern. Was not eligible for credit or return. The tree died 90 days later. I also bought Birch trees. The central leader of the trees were cut to fit in the shipping box. This stunted the growth and will lead to life-long form issues. Obvious reasons why not to buy on-line trees. Your local box store is a much better choice... even better would be your local nursery.
On May 16 2021 I ordered three Emerald Green Arborvitae - 5-6 Foot from TheTreeCenter.com.
The first box arrived promptly and the single tree inside was well packed and secured well so that it arrived in very good condition. There appeared to be some delay with the other two trees, so on May 20 I droppped a note to TheTreeCenter.com. I was told by Christian C. That the olther two trees would arrive by May 21st. The two trees arrived in one box, which was extremely heavy. The weight of the two trees in one box had caused the box to spit at the handles and where the trees were meant to be secured. Upon opening the box I found that the two trees were badly squashed and that, as a result of the two trees being crammed into one box, multiple branches were broken on one of the trees and the second tree was badly squashed. I reached out to Christian C. Again and was told that "it appears fortunate that the health of your plants has not been compromised and is set to live a healthy and vibrant life!" I have waited several weeks now for the trees to "loosen up", and lose their squashed appearance, but there has been no change and the tree with the broken foliage simply looks bad. This means I can't use the two trees in the area I planned as they simply look damaged.
Having spent almost three times what the same trees (or better) cost at Home Depot ($139.50 less 10% at TheTreeCenter.com versus $49.50 at Home Depot), I expect the trees to look great upon delivery and that if the trees aren't delivered looking great that they will be replaced immediately. This has not occurred despite my polite request for at least the tree that looks the worst to be replaced.
The attached photos of two trees side by side shows one tree from TheTreeCenter.com and a tree I recently purchased from Home Depot.
FYI - I am a home owner doing my own landscaping. I am not affiliated in any way to TheTreeCenter.com or Home Depot.
Orderd 2- #7 spartan junipers, was told by customer service they were 5-6 feet tall. FedEx was not helpful, they moved the bushes three times in the Denver area before delivering. The painfully spindly bushes that arrived are clearly end of season stock when compared with a less expensive identical bush grown by Monrovia that I purchased from a local big box store. One of the two was staked (unable to stand up on its own), the top 6" sprig broken off by the stake. Customer service agreed to replace them BUT would not/could not assure they would ship a more mature product and could not tell me when they would get more. Guess which two came from the The TreeCenter?
Absolutely NO replacement offered for two poor quality looking trees.
I sent three sets of photos -as they requested them 3 times. Finally today I asked for the replacement trees and they said NO- they were NOT bad enough to replace!
Lost a customer for LIFE. In addition, I have a family of 8 brothers and sisters that have all started landscaping their homes!
The tree bushes had no leafs on them but I planted anyway because they said on the website that they had a 1 year warranty. In spring 1 was dead I called and Christian said they would not replace it because I didn't buy the warranty, I told him it says 1 year warranty he said I didn't buy the warranty. I told him thats false advertising.
On March 30 I ordered 4 trees and a bush. As of today May 19th I have recieved 2 trees, one was the wrong size. I get an email advertising blueberry bush sale, it reminded me I still have not recieved my blueberry bush. I just cancelled it. BUYER BE WARE terrible company. I wish I could leave a negative star!
First time dealing with The Tree Center and it will be the last unfortunately. My original order was for $203. I received an email with FedEx tracking which stated my order was now complete, showing $152. The email shows what had been shipped. It's short 2 plants but I'm thinking will ship soon. One box arrives and I contact customer service via their chat after several days goes by. He explains that FedEx split the shipment and 2nd box will arrive soon - which it does. Order NOT complete, still missing 2 shrubs. I wait a week, contact c/s again (I'm in TX, usually a short spring before it hits the 90's). Now they are out of the 2 shrubs as I explain that I had never received them yet they had closed my order out. Apologies issued, they are waiting on supplier farms to restock. Another week goes by, they don't contact me so I call email again. Sorry, but no stock available, take a refund. Now I call and say hey, the larger shrub is on your website - why not ship that for great customer service. Nope, on hold while they verify and yes, I can have larger size if I PAY for them - SERIOUSLY? It wasn't my error to begin with. So I pay, shrubs arrive. The " container" was bigger but I could not see any roots when I watered before planting. Loose soil for the bottom 2/3 of container when I planted them, super disappointing after this whole ordeal. And the plant from a # 3 container is the same size as the #2 I had ordered. Buyer beware!
Last year I had ordered plants online from other suppliers and was extremely dissatisfied in the condition of the plants. I was hesitant to place my order but I couldn't find the particular plant I wanted anywhere locally. The tree center answered all my questions by phone and I order 12 5-gallon plants for a new hedge I am building. They came so well packed, I was amazed that there was so little shipping damage to the pants. When I need something special again, I will have total trust in The Tree Center
Plants arrived well-packaged with detailed planting instructions. They were in excellent condition. We were happy to have found this online source, as the variety of nine-bark we wanted (little devil) was unavailable at any of our local garden centers. We would definitely purchase from The Tree Center again.
When I received Order Number ******* the Fringe Tree was well packaged; however, when I opened the box I didn't receive a tree, I received a twig about two feet tall and malformed. The limb was coming out about 45 degrees off the crown. Your quality control should not have allowed you to ship this poor specimen
First of all this company has a great website. I ordered a Rhododendron and a Red Twig Dogwood shrub.
They arrived two days later. The packaging is amazing. They arrived very secure and fresh. The planting
Directions and aftercare instructions were precise and helpful. Very impressed.

Disappointing not what I thought by the description. #5 bucket and they were smaller then our local Costco. I paid I think $60-$70 and our local Costco had them for $16.99 and would take them back if anything went wrong.
I thought my husband was going to kill me. He loved his early Christmas presents. As I was sweating this big purchase. The trees, cedars, pines, and spruces are big and healthy. I have a happy and shocked husband. I did great! Very well packaged. Not just bare roots, actual pots with dirt! Will be ordering again. This is amazing!
Excellent service and plants as usual. I am a very happy return customer. Always happy with my purchases. No complaints
I bought 2 trees for Christmas decorations and then to plant in the spring. They are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Not only do I love the trees but I also received as a gift spruce seeds to plant! I thought that was extremely thoughtful and I look forward to planting these seeds. Thank you Tree Center!
Answer: Do you have avocado trees in any of these varieties? Bacon Brogden Fuerte May Winter Mexican
Answer: They had the tree that I was looking for. Packaged perfectly. Quick ship. Beautiful, healthy and green. Even came with Christmas wrap on the pot. Nice touch. I was very pleased.
Answer: Never tried to get hold of customer service I've had no need to.
Answer: Hello! The 3 gallon Skip Laurels are going to be about 2-3 feet tall, and the 5 gallons are going to be about 3-4 feet tall. You will want to plant these between 2 to 3 feet apart, so, if you have a 20 foot wall, you'll need between 7-10 plants to suffice that space. Hope that helps!
