The fella that helped me was very nice, but extremely hard to understand and he obviously couldn't understand me either. I had to repeat and spell names, street names, etc over and over and over. Go somewhere else for your popcorn order! I have been a customer for years but I am tired of the hassle.

Poor customer service
December 30, 2020

I ordered popcorn as a gift for our son's family. I was told it would be delivered before Christmas and given a delivery date of December 22nd. The popcorn did not arrive by Christmas and I contacted customer service. First I was told that FedEx had lost the shipment and then I was told that it was actually still in transit. As of today, December 30th it has still not arrived. I emailed customer service again and asked that they send a replacement or refund my money. They did not offer to do either one. They just said they were sorry and thanked me for my feedback! I will never order from them again.

This fiasco on a recent order has absolutely been my worst in many years. I placed order for St. Valentines Day on Feb 8 and was never shipped, just a label made the 9th. I eventually called you people not just once but twice and got a run around blaming the weather and fedex the first time. The second time I called again you blamed fedex but refunded my shipped cost,. Gift still not received. So I called fedex today and the gentleman told me you created the label but was never sent off to them period! So I called you again. The lady today said she will print a new label and expedite the order and send it today for free of charge. She said it will arrive by the Feb 24th But I will believe that when I hear from my friend. To say I am mad is a complete understatement. I have no desire to ever do business with The Popcorn Factory again period and will most certainly tell all of my friends about this experience. That is all I have to say.

Address Change

After making a mistake on the address I was told it could not be changed. The mistake was noticed with 5 minutes of placing the order. The office was closed, live chat was closed and an email went unanswered. All of this was done with 15 minutes of placing the order. The following morning I called as soon as they were open. Knowing that my son would not receive the tin I asked to cancel the order. After being told I would receive an email with the cancelation number I instead received an email stating that the order had been shipped and my money could not be refunded.

In this day and age it is crazy that an address can not be updated within the first 24 hours of placing an order. Other on line companies I have ordered from allow this. I will never purchase from the company again.

Go to Garretts instead

I normally do not write reviews however I was so disappointed in the popcorn tin I got today. Besides the late delivery everyone writes about the 3.5lb tin of 3 flavors was mostly carmel and the cheddar popcorn had almost no flavor. This wouldn't be an issue but my family prefer cheddar and carmel is their least favorite. When I reached out to Customer Service to let them know they told me they would be disappointed too. This is the last time I order from the Popcorn Factory.

Free shipping is a farce

Beware of free shipping site wide scam. I tried to order from an email that they sent to me with the offer of free shipping sitewide. Well everything I chose was not eligible for free shipping. I called customer service and they were no help. They gave me a link to what was included in the free shipping offer. If not everything on the site ships for free then they should not advertise free shipping site wide. Buyer beware. I will not buy from them again.

I place an order for 100 bags of popcorn on February 8 around 9am after placing order I was informed that I could not give popcorn as a gift. I immediately call to cancel my order and was told my order has been processed although it was only fifteen minutes later from when I placed my order. I later called back and I spoke with Amy. I explained to Amy what happened and ask her about speaking to manager or supervisor to complain. Amy continued to get more information from me like my order number and than ask if she could put me on hold to speak to her supervisor. Less than 2 minutes later she said she was unable to cancel order. Once again I ask her can I talk with a supervisor. She said, I can have a supervisor call you back in about a week and I said no I will wait. She continued to say that she was unable to get in touch with a supervisor. I said that you just put me on hold to speak with your supervisor so you are lying. Either you can not get in touch with a supervisor and therefore you never talk with a supervisor when you put me on hold. Then she said well I can't transfer the call. I ask is there a website I can go to for complaints and she said no and I ask is there an email. She did give me an email.

I am very upset on how this was dealt with. Every customer should be able to cancel an order especially if it was place less than an hour before canceling. This is not professional way to run a business.

Poor service

Ordered a delivery that was to be delivered by 12/21; When it was not delivered I call customer service and it seems my order had never been processed and they were out of the popcorn flavor I ordered!
Their response was to replace it with a four flavored can ( the recipient only likes the one flavor) or give me a $20 card for my next order. (less than half the cost of the original order); I only got a full refund after asking to speak to a supervisor - I will NEVER order from them again!

Packaging Hell

We were surprised with what must be one of the largest offerings from The Popcorn Factory. It was pitched onto our urban porch in a box large enough for a top-end stereo tuner-amplifier with an overkill of molded styrofoam packing. The single strip of tape that held the top flaps of the box had come totally loose leaving the box open. Bringing it in revealed a decorative bow on top of many bags of popcorn and candies and a large basket that fit snugly into the bottom of the box. Cautiously pulling everything out revealed that the basket was empty of popcorn and occupied by packing grass and a cardboard structure to keep everything out of the basked and support it on top. Bear in mind that 'popcorn' is used to describe packing material. The popcorn was tightly jammed into the top of the box, the basket was empty but occupied, and that wasn't the worst of it. Everything was glued together. Countless bags of several flavors of popcorn were glued to each other. In the mix were some Scottish shortbread, s'more coolies and 2 Lindor truffles, just so we know that they know what's good. The sticky and stretchy rubber cement-like adhesive gluing everything to everything kept us at bay for a quarter of an hour, finally yielding one bag of 'holiday' colored red and white popcorn. Large kernels were not too bad, but the misguided effort to package things safely is defeated by the near impossibility of freeing up a bag of the delicate treats.

There may be tasty treats there, but the packaging is a wasteful, incompetent abomination.

Nothing but problems

Ordered in August 2020. Its almost Halloween I STILL don't have my order. 1st time they said order was over looked. This time they say it's lost in transit. TOTALLY INCOMPETENT. I asked for tracking number twice and was not provided one.

BEWARE!

They added on a charge for a passport thing that I did not order and they refused to take it off and they refused to cancel my order. I used the popcorn factory 35 years ago. They sent me back-and-forth on different phone calls and they said they couldn't do anything. I have to go through my credit card company now. Just beware! I spent an hour on the phone trying to get canceled.

I placed a holiday gift order last week. Everything was correct on site and my bank immediately noted pending charge. A day later the charge cleared. I am a passport member and order from 1800Flowers frequently. They are excellent. I have also ordered many times from Personalization also excellent. Popcorn Factory horrible. I never received a confirmation and then checked account only to find no order. I spent an hour with the ‘chat folks' only to be told I never ordered anything. Then was given instruction to email PROOF of billing. I got a response quickly that apologized for my inconvenience and verified I was indeed a Passport member. Huh? My email provided ample evidence of the order and requested explanation why no order ‘according to them' existed. So I called the customer service number only to get a woman who, well, English was not her strong suit. I think she miraculously found the order but I would be a fool to trust this company so tried to cancel. She seemed to confirm this but refused to provide any verification and said it would take up to 15 days.

They sell a unique product. Honestly I'm searching for alternatives. But they are by far the worst online company I have ever dealt with and, trust me, I am a veteran online shopper.

Non Delivery
March 15, 2021

I placed an order at the popcorn factory and it was delivered to the wrong address. I placed the order on the phone on 3/8/21 and realized the order would arrive after 3/15 so I asked the representative to change the address. I received the email confirmations showing the wrong and correct address. The order still went to the wrong address I called and they are shipping me an overnight order that will arrive in 3 days. OVERNIGHT EXPIDITED in 3 days. The order will arrive a day after I need it for a gift. Not happy. This is my second order and I am disappointed. Will not order again.

They have great pictures of overflowing tins of popcorn and you get a flimsy tin filled with meager bags of popcorn. How do you present this to your guests. Total misrep of product. We also ordered the popcorn with the chocolate snacks and got the same bags, the size of small doritos bags with two little plastic bags with some chocolate snacks in them. The popcorn and the measly sweet snacks taste good but the overall package is so lame. And I sent this to my best clients and family and friends hoping for a great big thanks and they will all look at this tin and the bags of stuff and say WTF!

One Star Too Many

I ordered two $60 tins on December 7th, more than enough time for Christmas delivery. Except of course if they do not leave the factory until December 21st. No contact, no nothing from the Popcorn Factory, so I didn't even know to apologize to people who are very important to me. Expected delivery is January 5th. I ordered another $60 tin on December 15th with a promise of December 24th delivery. It has an expected delivery date of January 9th, a little early for MLK Day. Plus, we were double charged for "free" shipping. This used to a trustworthy, reputable company, but the $20 gift certificate towards my next purchase as their apology will not be needed as we will never deal with these people again.

I am extremely disappointed with The Popcorn Factory. I made an order way before Christmas and paid for a delivery before Christmas. Today is December 30th and still didn't receive my package or any notification of delays or issues with my order. After multiple attempts to contact customer service they submitted a refund (I didn't want a refund, I wanted my package to be delivered) without me asking for it. They communicated that one of my packages was lost in transit and the other not shipped yet and with an expected delivery date of January 15th? Almost a month after the expected delivery date. I understand delays these days specially with COVID-19 but not having any proactive updates or communications is UNACCEPTABLE! I would never buy from them again! Not reliable.

On the front of the bag- "BUTTER TOFFEE WITH SEASALT POPCORN" There is "0" BUTTER! How can you legally say that? So... no, it does not taste like butter toffee popcorn... period. Why not just say what it is- a non-butter heath conscious alternative!
