As good as it gets...
November 22, 2021

I've used the TDAmeritrade website for about 15 years... even before the original company, Ameritrade, acquired TD Waterhouse. I've never been disappointed.
They support my retirement accounts and my regular "trading" account. The website is ultra user friendly and all postings seem to be instantaneous. Their charts, history, cost basis, etc. tabs allow me a plethora of information regarding my investments. Currently operating with a "no fee" policy for my manual trades on their site, it's as good as anyone can expect... in my opinion, of course.
Whenever I have a question, a simple phone call to their 800 # is quickly directed to a real live human being who usually has an answer in just a few seconds. If not, the rep puts me on a short hold, inquires of a more knowledgeable source, and returns with the answer.
I'd recommend this investment company and their website to any of my very best and close friends... if they asked me.

I have been using this company (the name has been changed several times) and the web site for years. The site is very easy to navigate, trade, read expert's analysis. Mange the accounts, get stock and companies information, charts, company balance sheets..

I have yet to find a brokerage that I can give five stars to but four stars is pretty good as I would give most other firms 3 or less

I like the setup and the guys are knowledgeable when it comes to asking questions regarding option strategies which is not an easy topic to cover

Ameritrade is my favorite online brokerage - Their site is easy to use, trades are cheap ($10 base rate for equity trades), it's easy to get money in and out of my account, trading options is easy, they gave me a margin account, and they send me all my tax information. I've found Ameritrade somewhat easier to use than ETrade and Charles Schwab which are both more expensive.

My siblings and I are trying to create Beneficiary IRAs so we can receive the funds left in my deceased father's IRA (his IRA is with Ameritrade so we have to first get Ameritrade to create Beneficiary IRAs for us before we can move the funds elsewhere). It should take only 3-5 business days to create the Beneficiary IRAs but Ameritrade is playing games. On 7/18/23 I submitted my application for a Beneficiary IRA. On 7/26/23 I called for an update and was told they were currently working on applications received 7/1/23. On 8/3/23 I again called for an update, and was told they are currently working on applications received 6/30/23. What? They're going backward instead of forward? Something's not right here... but nobody at Ameritrade will give me a straight answer or connect me to someone who can. In the meantime, the funds are locked into Ameritrade (yes, they continue to make money on money that is legally mine while I am losing money by not being able to invest it elsewhere... and there seems to be nothing I can do about it). I feel like I'm in Bernie Madoff land.

Poor customer service
February 13, 2023

Refused to allow me to trade options, even though money was transferred and was working with experienced traders. Had a LONG process of requiring training courses and sending in W-2's to allow me to trade. Very unsatisfactroy

Seems to be a good brokerage. Will stick with them for now, but who knows someone new might show up on the block.

Gone Downhill BIGTIME!
January 20, 2023

I have (will be HAD) been with Ameritrade for over 20 years (before the "TD" was added) and they had been a pretty good organization but the last couple years they have gotten so bad that I had to move both my regular and retirement accounts out to do MANY multiple different stories from their representatives, then they try to hide behind excuses why they disseminated the wrong information or tried to say I misread their responses, only to be called on the carpet for having it happen SEVERAL times, one time costing me a couple thousand dollars in incorrect info. Regarding converting an account. When they were "caught" with the mistakes after trying to deny them, I got a simple "sorry" but we can't make it up to you in any way. What a waste of 24 YEARS! There too many better options out there that will actually TRY to give you correct information in helping you invest

Having little experience with stocks and a low-risk tolerance for trading, this site helps alleviate a lot of my anxiety due to the ease of use, informed decision making options, and excellent client service. As the website and name have changed over the years, the site has become extremely user friendly without feeling dumbed down. Appreciate the information available and have never had any issues with them. Great site and strongly recommend.

Useful to us
October 23, 2017

I've bought from Lush countless times, and I have never been disappointed in a single product! I love their bubble bars and bath bombs, but the massage bars they offer are also awesome and the scent lingers all day. I always try different bath lines and keep coming back to lush over and over.

I have looked under everything possible and can not find a simple icon that says DEPOSIT FUNDS. I find TD Ameritrades site so complicated and difficult that I literally dread having to use it. Hey TD keep it simple and enjoyable to use. We're trying to make money not get a degree in web design!

Used TD for 10 years
February 13, 2022

I have used TD AMERITRADE for 10 years now but I do not like how they manipulate the options sometimes making you lose some money. They are and gotten more strict on trading options on Fridays. I think their platform is good to use for options trading but the customer service is horrific. Have to wait several hours at times. Overall 3/5 mostly pro for their platform and overall the hold time to speak to anyone is too long.

I liked TD Ameritrade until they doubled my trade. I bought 2000 shares of a security, sold it a few minutes later after reaping profits (and the price had just started dropping), and a minute later (unbeknownst to me) they submitted a duplicate buy order.

I noticed that my day gain, which WAS green, was rapidly becoming very red. I quickly looked at my open positions and realized that I somehow had 2000 shares remaining. "WTF?! I only bought 2000, which I just sold!" To stop the hemorrhage, I hastily sold these remaining shares, at a $2500 loss, and looked at my transaction history. I then discovered what happened.

I called them and, after 90 minutes on hold, I spent another hour trying to get them to fix THEIR screwup, but they refused to admit fault. When I politely told the supervisor that this was unacceptable and that I will find a different broker, he hung up on me.

Traded in Europe
February 25, 2019

Moved several accounts over to TD from Trade station. Trade station does not even come close to the level of TD. Everyone talks about hoe good TS charts are, bunch of baloney! TS had terrible opening whipsaw price action all the time, does not happen with TD. Also traded in Europe last summer, no glitches with TD. Best of all I rarely have to deal with anyone at TD because their trading and banking functions have been flawless online!

These people are unethical, politically driven monsters who will rape you of your money without warning within seconds. They only care about covering their own asses and will lie their heads off after they do so. They don't have to follow federal or FINRA guidelines and are given carte blanche to destroy people intentionally. Do not, I repeat, do not go to FINRA for anything. Do not go to a FINRA arbitration. The system is 100%, indisputably rigged. FINRA is not there to protect consumers. They are there to protect the brokerages and keep the table tilted. TURN AND RUN FROM TD AMERITRADE AND FINRA IF YOU VALUE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY. THESE PEOPLE ARE MONSTERS AND HAVE ZERO CONSCIENCE ABOUT PUTTING PEOPLE THROUGH LIVING HELL.

Finally won them
June 30, 2022

If it hadn't been for support from winconsultants, ltd that assisted me when this broker deleted my account with over 137k in it, submitted various documents and they did not respond after that. But winconsultants, ltd came into the picture and I was able to win and get my account back. Made withdrawals immediately.

They changed their system to allow you to oversell an asset when you close it out, they take the oversell and create a margin short against the asset but at no point leading up to clicking confirm of the transaction do they ever mention I am trying to sell more than I have nor do they mention I will be opening a short position. When the market is busy, their platform freezes up and doesnt load right making it difficult to even submit a transaction much less follow up on it. I tried numerous times to sell my holdings and finall an order went through, I closed the window. I logged back in a month later to find I sold long and opened a short position and was holding a short position when all I wanted to do was sell my holdings. I lost $1200 from this transaction.

The response from TDA is this is all my fault and I am basically an idiot which isn't their problem.
