They changed their system to allow you to oversell an asset when you close it out, they take the oversell and create a margin short against the asset but at no point leading up to clicking confirm of the transaction do they ever mention I am trying to sell more than I have nor do they mention I will be opening a short position. When the market is busy, their platform freezes up and doesnt load right making it difficult to even submit a transaction much less follow up on it. I tried numerous times to sell my holdings and finall an order went through, I closed the window. I logged back in a month later to find I sold long and opened a short position and was holding a short position when all I wanted to do was sell my holdings. I lost $1200 from this transaction.
The response from TDA is this is all my fault and I am basically an idiot which isn't their problem.
Easy to use platform, cheap trades and decent customer service. I am going to give them five stars as there is nothing that sticks to my craw at least not yet
Absolute total lack of client service. The worst. No way to get issues resolved. I urge you all to find a different on-line brokerage house. These folks are a nightmare.
I am a business man i like business, i dont know much english but i put my money where it can increase.
I saw TD Ameritrade advert and in felt it must be legit for them to run a public ad so i decided to read about it and then put ******* for a start only for them to tell me i have to pay 20k more to have higher profit i did that and stopped hearing from them after my deoposit 3 months later i reported to vestiganet and here i am my money was gotten back for me today.
I have been doing business with this group for years now. I can tell you that for the most part it has been a pleasure. I've used them for investments and car loan. Great on all.
They recently shorted me on a dividend. I have proof of this, but company too greedy to pay what they owe. You should look elsewhere for an honest stock broker.
Report your complaint and get your refund of money or poorly rigged trades, I received a $31,500 refund. Act now by contacting the watsapp number or their website on my profile photo
I used to love this brokerage, but lately they've gone downhill--steeply! Lately I'm having all kinds of problems moving money in and out of my account, including paying bills and completely. Now I have to call all the time, and when I finally do get someone on the phone, they're some snotty kid whose big MBA dreams didn't work out and they always try to end the conversation with "we're a brokerage, not a bank!" Well, you seem to forget one THING! It's MY MONEY and it DOES WHAT I SAY! If you don't want to be a "bank," then stop offering the same services that a bank does! And, I several accounts stretching to seven figures--but I can't do a simple transfer or bill pay because "you haven't traded that money yet." Well, guess what? If this place won't do simple things with my money, then they really don't need ANY of my money! This was never a problem until lately, so why it is now, I have no idea! So, this place needs to keep up with the "we're a brokerage, not a bank!" line until they're neither and just a sad memory in the annals of fiscal history.
I don't like when people lose money or struggle with trades! You can now get back your lost funds with 100% guarantee with the help of - expressrecoverypro AT yahoo DOT com
I have a Conservative ETF portfolio and some key long term high tech stocks and some German bank bonds with TDAmeritrade that I am very happy with. I have been with TDAmeritrade for many years now with over a 9.5% return this year.
Very good website and product. Very help full support and i have improved my investing drastically. It also helped me get out of bad investing habbits
Everything is great but I wish they would issue a debit card like Schwab. They give you a check book which is useless if you live outside the US, Other than that issue everything else is superb
I feel very comfortable to work with TD Ameritrade, efficient, precise and of course quite reasonable with the fees.
I recommend every fellow who's intrested in a good broker to try TD.
Misleading advertising, poor service, no communication, can't get my money back don't use them or you may regret it
We moved an IRA from Discover Bank to TD Ameritrade in 2020, I configured the on-line account so our statements would be emailed and not paper mailed to minimize potential security problems if a mailed paper statement was accidentally delivered to the wrong address.
Regardless that I configured our on-line account correctly, we still receive paper statements.
I spoke with two first-line TD Ameritrade representatives on: 3/12/21,4/13/21, each time after I received the paper statements. Both representatives promised to resolve but they did not.
On 5/19/21, I spoke with Matthew Slamp, Supervisor, who promised to resolve, and to email me by 5/21/21 with a status update for a resolution, which he never did.
On 6/8/21 I received another paper statement.
I Googled the corporate office for a corporate phone number to escalate this issue to corporate, but the number in their website *******856 tells the caller to call their 1-800 number.
I called their 1-800 number and asked to speak with someone from corporate HQ, I was forwarded to "Austin" ext # ******* who does ‘not' work for corporate HQ. I then asked Austin to forward me to someone in their corporate HQ, I was forwarded to "Hestor (Hector?) Hurst", Client Supervisor, who told me he did not work in corporate either. When I asked Mr. Hurst to forward me to corporate he refused.
I am not certain why I should maintain any accounts with TD Ameritrade after 1) not being able to have statements emailed to me, 2) engaging with representatives who make false promises, 3) engaging with representatives who do not follow up with customer issues, 4) engaging with representatives who refuse to allow customers to escalate legitimate concerns to corporate.
I've had them for years and love every minute of it.
I have had nothing but good experiences with this company. They are very fair.
Answer: Very difficult if you have a problem. Employees seem afraid to side with the customer, even if they know the customer is right.
TD Ameritrade has a rating of 2 stars from 58 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. TD Ameritrade ranks 61st among Brokerage sites.
