I hired a Tasker for a very simple task to help unload bedroom furniture from a U Haul into our house. The Tasker cancelled the morning of the scheduled day. Left us in a huge bind as we already rented the U Haul and had the warehouse load the furniture. Wasted an entire day trying to find someone to help us so we could return the U Haul in time. No way to contact Task Rabbit Customer Service by phone, text, email!!!
I have been a "Tasker" through Task Rabbit since 2016. I do excellent work. I have over 700 5 star reviews from my customers. I mount tv's, do general wall mounting (mirrors, shelves, artwork, etc) and I assemble furniture of all kinds.
For no apparent reason, Task Rabbit has pushed me down in the "customer search" (where I appear on the list of taskers) to 15th!
Meaning, NO ONE is going to hire me now! How can they? They don't even see me when they are looking at who's available…unless they scroll to the 4th PAGE of available taskers!
When I contact task rabbit and ask what is going on? They do absolutely nothing about it! Do not sign up for task rabbit if you're looking for work! They have ZERO loyalty to their good workers!
I requested today for movers to come and move my furniture 3 bedroom house upon arriving I noticed it was a older pickup truck one skinny man.so I'm trying to figure out how would he move my items by himself and without any tools. I offered him a dolly I had in my garage he was struggling so I asked to help him he started pulling my couches on concrete with a dolly I said stop let me get a cover. Long story short after putting my couches in his truck I noticed they had been torn at the bottom from being dragged at this time i went to get someone to help the task rabbit guy when I came back he said he wasn't gonna do it took my couches off his truck and put them in my grass and left. This is first step to getting this company not only to pay for my couches but the time and money I wasted in this company.! Oh and the driver of the truck had expired registration looked in his car he had no registration straight up bum and bum $#*! company
First off, the taskers are way too expensive. Second, good luck trying to 'cancel a task'. Taskrabbit keep fighting my refund request even though the tasker was not hired and i cancel the task. Sent my case to the AG of California and recommend you all do that too.
We hired a tasker for a cleaning task. The tasker was supposed to arrive at 2.30. At 2.25 she messaged us saying she would be 15 mins late, so my boyfriend only opened the door at 2.50, when she rang the bell. The job was booked for an hour, but she left at 3.45. She charged us for 2.5h (Maths must not be her strength), which raised an invoice of £55. She claimed she was never late but that she was ringing the bell and nobody opened the door (which is obviously not true). And she still charged us double even if she didn't even work for the agreed hour. Three works later, I am still waiting for the invoice to be amended. I will never use this site ever again.
This experience was awful. My first time ordering from IKEA turned out to be a nightmare. My bunk bed got delivered with a whole box missing. Then I had several taskers cancel on me. After calling task rabbit I was quoted a $25/hr price with a reduction of $10 for my inconvenience. $200 later was the final price after the tasker finished putting the bed together. Still trying to figure out how a $65 job turned into $200. This was my first and last time ordering from IKEA and using task rabbit. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.
I contact them to assemble IKEA products. I spoke with customer service and confirmed the task price and provided them with item numbers. After all is confirmed she says to book the task on the website. I do book it and choose a time slot. Then it supposed to link me up with a tasker. Nicholas P. Starts sending me messages for 2 days asking about the products before he accepts the task! Then he asks for $20 extra on top of the website quote that I discussed with customer service. I still agreed to $15 extra, and he cancels the task 1 hour before the appointment! What kind of staff and service is this? How is this Nicholas P. Have a job with them?
Worst service, taskrabbit's contractors are scammers. They just charge card, no matter the taskers completed the work or not. This plumber Victor doesnot know how to fix kitchen sink disposal, he could not finish the work. Infact he messed up everything. My card details were there in taskrabbit app, so he just charge my card without complete the kitchen sink disposal task/ plumbing
I recently ordered a piece of furniture from Ikea - it was a chaise with only four parts. It was listed at taking one hour for the estimated time. It ended up taking 4 hours and I had to get involved with reading and review of the directions. Yes, they were confusing because the directions packed were written for the chair, chaise and couch with many extra nuts and bolts that we did not know what to do with... but really, 4 pieces taking 4 hours was unacceptable at a time with COVID raging. I wrote to Task Rabbit and Ikea and neither ever responded which shows how they value their customers. Rabbit also charged $19. For something called the TRUST FACTOR? It would be wise if
They would list a time frame for the work to be done and if it goes over, the worker knows it is on them and not the consumer because the worker could just keep going on and on. Ikea could provide specific directions with just the needed supplies and/or a short video showing the assembly process.
NOT all of the taskers are real professionals, they don't guarantee their work, and cancel you any time. I wish I had read all plenty of negative reviews before I asked for the electrician who could not resolve the problem. Minus five stars
An absolute fraudulent sham company. They are very quick to charge you $25 upfront, they leave you in limbo for weeks, and can deny your application to be a tasker without refund. Basically, they are stealing from people who apply to be taskers.
The tasker caused a liability of $3,200 and Insurance paid $1,700. I had to pay the remaining $1,500 from my pocket.
They closed the ticket without paying attention to my claim and say that I never gave them the entire information of the claim. The customer service doesn't try to listen to the liability caused and go on and on about their deadlines and policies.
This thing is just a rip off and I don't recommend this to anyone. The tasker may be fine but the customer service is just pathetic (pause a read it again). Rating of 1 is way more than they deserve. The rating is surely a negative for me.
The manager of the customer service is just so rude and does not listen to you at all. He just goes on and on about how I did not send them the correct information and its my fault.
I dont understand the concept of deadline, when you have caused a liability. A good way not to pay for the loss. I urge the authorities to stop this scam.
I tried to hire someone to do some yard work for me... I ran through all the steps outlined on their website
Then receive from them a confirmation for the wrong time and the wrong day, which was for the next day at 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. I had only requested a specific 3 to four hour time frame on a totally different day. I then tried to reach someone to tell them that this was the wrong time the wrong day by responding to their email. I received an response stating that I could not respond to that... Further annoying attempts to contact them we're so frustrating I gave up
Bunch of unprofessional, incompetent, irresponsible, brainless people who can not do a simple task which is "scheduling". Do yourself a favor and do not book them. They should not be in ANY form of businesses. They take your money and do not provide a service. A waste of time to deal with them.
I hired Abul to patch and paint 5 different areas. When I took off commando tape the paint peeled off. This job should of taken tops 2 hours and that is being generous.It took him 3 hours. The 1st day took him 2 hours and we planned for him to come back the next day at 3. He showed up at 5 with some lame reason why he was late. He was very unprofessional. When I called taskmaster to complain he put me on hold to speak to a supervisor and after waiting for 20 min I hung up. I called the next day and the women first said she would give me a credit of $25 and I should be compensated because the job should of not taken so long and again put me on hold to talk to someone else. But before she transferred me she said she would be sure to give me a credit for$20. She doesn't even know what she said to me. I was put on hold for 25 min then I hung up. A worthless lying company.
I completed a cleaning task that was 3hrs long. The client was great, and tipped me as well as left a review. However, the platform is TRASH in terms of payout. Several days after submitting my invoice, I reached out and was told there was a issue on the client's end. I reached out to the client and although they were sure there was no issue with their card, they changed it on the app as they suggested. The client then reached out to task rabbit directly, but there is no way to email back although that is how they reached out to her. Over a week later, they finally put my payment through manually. It has been another two weeks and I've yet to be paid by Task Rabbit. I've worked with the same client twice since then and was paid outside the app almost immediately. I do not plan on using this platform going forward.
Booked a task. The app says task booked, provides a date and time. You think it is confirmed.
But no! Mysteriously a day later the tasker cancels the task FOR NO REASON. Wasted 4 days just trying to book a task and not finding anyone.

Has someone come and install a ceiling fan... they had never put up a fan and took over 3 hours (This was just a remove the old one and put up a new one job) they did a terrible job... they still charged me to over 3 hours.

Tasker had me answer millions of questions about my simple job of moving two paintings: dimensions, whether they would fit in an SUV, would I be there at the pick up sight, and on and on. At the end of about 45 minutes, he said he wasn't sure he would have either an SUV or a sedan to do the task.
I was infuriated. Why go through an interrogation for nothing?

The company didn't show up, and tried to blame IKEA for not confirming an order, even though we had the order confirmation. Online support is horrible, finally found a number, and the support wouldn't do anything about it. Terrible company and service.
