Not easy for a 77 year old. Trying for a few days to book for assembly.
Even. Went back to Ikea to see if they could do it.
No email address,
No phone number. Stressed right out not good for me. Not happy with Taskrabbits. Rubbish.
I booked several Taskers over the last few months and they either don't show or cancel at the last minute.
Total waste of time sitting around waiting for them.
Taskrabbit support fails to answer messages sent to discuss the issue.
LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GET THE JOB DONE!
A tasker arrived at my place to fit a kitchen unit and panel, its looks terrible and he's damaged my panel. Task-rabbit have distance themselves from my complaint.
Ikea and Taskrabbit quoted me my cabinet to be assembled would cost about $120 - $140 to complete. I was charged $487 by the tasker as he was not as knowledgeable with the ikea systems, it took him 11 hours to assemble. I was mislead and would have never agreed to pay half the cost of the unit. I could have bought an already assembled item from somewhere else. In my opinion this is deceiving and unethical business practice.
The goal was to have 5-7 curtain rods placed. I just paid well over $200 for 3 curtain rods to be placed and TWO out of the THREE were screwed up and need to be redone. And then, after I left my review the tasker became extremely confrontational and messaged me "why didn't you say that to my face". That is what school children say to each other when they want to fight someone. And he continued to barrage me with messages. I asked him to stop messaging me but he continued. THEN I told him he was harassing me and asked him to stop messaging me for a second time and he finally stopped. I need a FULL REFUND.
Here are the details of the multiple issues today….
I specifically purchased everything needed to hang 5-7 curtain rods including special masonry drill bits and screws ($40). A previous tasker did this with no issue. All materials were what the contractor that remodeled the house recommended. Victor started working and then literally took off to Home Depot without my knowing, without any discussion, to buy things to hang the curtains using DIFFERENT drill bits and screws and different method. He messaged me on the app AFTER he had already left. He should have came downstairs and asked me before he left and had a discussion that he wasn't going to do it my way and was going to do it his way because I would have sent him home right then and there*. He was gone for ONE HOUR which I by no means should have to pay for.
Room #1 he screwed up and had to spackle the holes (which I now need to paint) and hung the curtains HIGHER than what was previously marked (so now I need to get new curtains). Room #2 looks ok? Who knows. Room #3 he mounted crooked AND screwed up one of the holes again for which he used CAULK to secure it. The bracket is completely unstable and loose and his caulk solution did not work. This one needs to be removed, spackled, sanded, painted and completely redone
My walls are MUCH worse off than before he came and now I have to pay someone to FIX 2 out of the 3 rooms he did and then pay someone to redo those 2 rooms.

Stay away from task rabbit as trust and support fees are too high. They are almost 30% of payment you made to tasker.
I have been a "Tasker" through Task Rabbit since 2016. I do excellent work. I have over 700 5 star reviews from my customers. I mount tv's, do general wall mounting (mirrors, shelves, artwork, etc) and I assemble furniture of all kinds.
For no apparent reason, Task Rabbit has pushed me down in the "customer search" (where I appear on the list of taskers) to 15th!
Meaning, NO ONE is going to hire me now! How can they? They don't even see me when they are looking at who's available…unless they scroll to the 4th PAGE of available taskers!
When I contact task rabbit and ask what is going on? They do absolutely nothing about it! Do not sign up for task rabbit if you're looking for work! They have ZERO loyalty to their good workers!
I was looking for a tasker to custom make a door for us. The first tasker I reached out to said he could do it, but we would have to provide the door, and he would happily cut it down. He didn't tell me what size or type we needed so I guesstimated and sent him a link to a door we would buy for pick up at Home Depot. He said no, we needed a solid core door. Never told me that from the beginning. Ok fine. So my husband and I go through the hassle of hauling home this giant 60 pound door from Home Depot. The morning of the appointment comes around, and the Tasker drops a bombshell on me and tells me that we need ALL of the hardware, including door stoppers. I had no idea what that was, he told me they're the wooden panels that goes around the door frame. We would have to pick that up as well and he would install it. That would likely have to be custom cut in the store for us. And who's to say we'd even do it right. That is way out of our expertise! This is what we hire professionals for! I told him that we cannot do the door stopper, and he said he refuses to do any shopping, and it would all have to be provided. I canceled the task, and now I'm stuck with this extremely heavy door that we have to haul back to the store. After that, I tried to find a few other taskers, and both of them said they could do it, but canceled on me the day of service. I'm done with this platform
Thank you Rafael.A, for promptly and very respectful. You worked very efficiently and the final result was perfect. You also cleaned up after my furniture was built. I highly recommend you. Thank you again!

This is the worst web-based service company I've ever encountered. A very poorly designed website and not a human being in sight, of course. I was looking for two people to help move one piece of furniture and two rugs. The website instructs you to advertise your job twice if you need two people, even though it turned out there were some small moving companies with an owner who also employed people. Anyway, I couldn't advertise again because the website wouldn't let me choose the same date. So down the rabbit hole of searching for customer service I went. Of course you have to chat with a robot and then fill in a form if you want to get to a human. The human must have been texting with a dozen other people. The answer she gave me after about an hour was generic, and would have taken half an hour. I figured out on my own that I just had to add another day, then turn down offers for the other day. I also have an exorbitantly expensive mover coming because it only offers you a few options at a time. I don't see any way to cancel. I'm 68 but I have a master's degree from Harvard and I have found it so easy to go to find a house cleaner, a handyman, a gutter-cleaner and a driveway plower on Next-door (to which I have no connection). But a friend recommended Task Rabbit so I gave it a shot. Never again!
This site was great years ago, now I dislike it severely. Poor support, taskers cancel (they manage their own schedule), and horrible add on fees. Taskers asking $100 hour for menial jobs and then don't show. Support will never help you with taskers that cancel even though they set their own calendar. Went from a really helpful site to one that you should avoid at all costs, in my opinion.
I'm a long term tasker in the UK and if I was anyone about to use Task Rabbit, I'd honestly reconsider your actions, they try charging for two taskrs when only one I required, they have no tests to show the competency of the actual person coming fitting your products, the whole company is a shambles, I'd keep your data safe also as they keep all your card information and can take payment without your consent if they feel a taskr has been shortly changed. You'll find the whole process a shambles and in the person who has to go to tasks to explain myself as I'm the face of task rabbit so we have to deal with any issues arise with missing items and missing personnel.
HIRED A MOVER WHO DID NOT SHOW UP FOR THE JOB. HE HAD MY PHONE NUMBER BUT NEVER CALLED TO ADVISED ME THAT HE WON'T BE COMING...
You pay $25 for their non-refundable fee. You never get tasks. It's a waste of the $25 fee. Good concept. But you're in charge of promoting yourself and clients only look for 5 star reviews. Can't get those if you don't get tasks. Deleted my account.
This was my first time using Taskrabbit. I booked a 10:30 time based on the Taskers availability on the app. He asked if he could do it later and I rearranged my schedule to accommodate his requested 3pm time. He never showed up and didn't communicate at all. He completely ghosted me. Not a great experience at all.
I really need my job to be done so out of desperation I booked someone else for the next day. Hoping my experience is better but at this time I would not recommend Taskrabbit to a friend.
There's also no customer service support.
Worst service, taskrabbit's contractors are scammers. They just charge card, no matter the taskers completed the work or not. This plumber Victor doesnot know how to fix kitchen sink disposal, he could not finish the work. Infact he messed up everything. My card details were there in taskrabbit app, so he just charge my card without complete the kitchen sink disposal task/ plumbing
My Tasker broke a table top. Task rabbit on a case-by-case basis will pay up to 10,000 dollars. I had receipts and the cost to replace the broken item which was $3000. They offered $63. Don't use them
Do not work here under any circumstances. They will scam you of your money! Find something else to do.
Bought Ikea furniture and then I had booked taskrabbit. Was notified the evening before that this gentleman could not make it. Then they set me up with another gentlemen that informed me the evening before that there is am extra $60.00 because this gentleman lives downtown Calgary and I live in Airdrie. What a joke. I will never ever use this company, all you get is the run around.Don't use this company.
Stay away from Taskrabbit. Unfortunately, they were recommended by IKEA designers. Went through their website and booked a one day job. Taskers left not even half way through the job and canceled. Customer service did not offer a resolution other than going on my own to find someone to finish the job. Taskers have no experience or training. Not recommended
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
