A total scam
July 7, 2010

A total scam. The "membership" fee is not clearly stated and they charge your account without authorization saying that is stated in the application. I tried to deny the charge on my debit card and was told that I had to take it up with the credit card company. They indicated that I had to file a complaint, which I did. They advised me that it was stated in the application and there was nothing they could do! I am reporting them to the BBB and consumer affairs, but doubt that anything will come of it. DO NOT GO ON THIS WEBSITE!

TOTAL SCAM!
June 14, 2010

TOTAL SCAM! They don't tell you your card is being charged $150 "membership fee" when you enter you cc#. Then you can't cancel the transaction. They tell you to fill out a 4 page form (don't make a single mistake on it or they will not accept it) and then you have to use all of your bids up ( but they give you more every day) and after 30 days, you have to send in the form AND contact them via chat and ONLY IF YOU HAVE NOT WON anything ( which they can easily control) will they consider giving you a refund.

I can't believe that the major news channels are touting this rip-off as a great deal! I would never have signed up had I not seen the video of CNN doing a story about swipebids saying how great it was.

After registreting, I quickly learned the site was both a fraud and bait and switch. No matter how close and how quick you are, a ringer always wiins the big items. The ringer keeps bidding to up the price of the item and makes you spend all the bids you have purchased from them. If you get to close to winning, they fix it so the site has a "glich" and you can't bid or win. When you complain, you never hear back from them and you have lost all the bids you spent. Since this is a nation wide fraud, the U.S. Justice Department should investigate the owners and operators of this corrupt site known as swipebid.com

Very clever scam
September 5, 2010

Very clever scam. If that creativity was put to honest uses, just imagine. What do I think of swipe bids? Everyone making money from the site should be in jail, real jail where 'bubba' lives.

This website if ot dicribed as a scam is at the least unethical. They take money from people and tell them about the fine, very fine print later, by online chatting through customer service

I am very frustrated and upset with the way this website does business. I got the total run around from their customer service representatives on the phone and also the Live Chat customer service representative. I asked nicely for my refund of $150 dollars but was told there is no refund for signing up even though they have a money back guarantee that is impossible to complete. They are truly scamming every single person that signs up for membership. It is a well thought out plan and the crook that started this website needs to be sued and put in jail for taking advantage of so many consumers. I am a bid fan of eBay and use it often. But this website makes me furious. I have written to the Attorney General in Utah, the Better Business Bureau in Alberta, Canada, the IC3.com internet crime complain center, consumer affairs, and now I am posting on this website. I agree that a class action law suit is needed to help bring the owner of swipebids.com Jesse Willms to justice. He is getting rich while he steals from all of us tricked consumers. Good luck to everybody who tries to get their money back from their credit card company. Don't give up and let this company get away with this. There are too many fraudulent scammers on the website that just hope you won't take it any further than just posting on this website.

Never saw such a fast scam and it works so well. BEWARE all user! This is NOT a fill out the form to become a member. No matter what they say. As soon as you fill out the form THEY CHARGE YOUR CARD $150.00 instantly and refuse to give you credit back.
Then, after you "CHAT" cause that is the only way to get hold of them, they send you a Refund Form that says, YOU HAVE to wait 30 days, YOU HAVE to bid on thier stuff AND YOU MUST NEVER HAVE Won a prize on their site!

DON"T DO IT!

I am sorry to say but I was one of the sucker who also fell for swipebids.com. I wasn't aware of the $150 charge for membership until I saw it on my bank account. I contacted them through live chat and told me what i need to do for a refund. I used up all my 300 bids plus i didn't win any bids plus i wasn't satisfied with the service. I contacted them again and told me i qualified for the refund and so I printed out the refund request form filled it out, attached all paper work required made copies of everything sent them, mailed it out certified. I called their customer service number and talked to them and told them that i had mailed out the form via certified and that they had received the letters. The customer rep told me that i did qualify and that i was getting my refund through check in two weeks because they were having technical dificulties and they couldn't refund my money back to my account. Two weeks passed, then a month passed, I called them back and asked them about my refund check and those S. O. B told me i didn't qualify for the refund and therefore were not giving me back my money. I was super upset that I told the lady off with every bad word i could think of and what i thought of their website. DO NOT GET SUCKERED LIKE I DID. I am so ready for a legal suite.

I will agree this is a scam... and as a site note to their most recent scam they automatically sign you up for their automatic bidding which charges another 12.00 a month to your account. BEWARE... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEIR MONEY BACK GUARANTEE IS A JOKE!

Total rip off, someone should shut this one down. Steal your money and then try to convince you that you wanted to buy some crappy membership which you can't tell until they have taken your money.

I got scammed for the $159 membership fee about 2 hours ago and I have already chatted with the agent who can't cancel my membership and refund my money for 5-10 business days; sent email to the company; sent email to a lawyer looking into a class action suit; callled the bank... I have $86 to my name right now. I am on a fixed income and i can''t afford to callously throw away that much money UNDISCLOSED for registration! If I could stand to visit every web site on the net to complain about this company I would but I think it is making my blood pressure go u[p. This company is a SCAM!

DO NOT ENTER YOUR PAYMENT INFO UNTIL YOU HAVE READ REVIEWS ABOUT THIS SITE. I had no experience with auction sites. Our nightly news featured a story of how they worked and if you were nimble and understood them you could really win something nice. After seeing this on my respectable local news I searched auctions and swipebids popped up. Typically I never enter payment info but it looked harmless. They mentioned their 159.00 fee but I didn't expect my card would be instantly charged. As this was happening our credit card company was calling. There's a red flag! The card company had lots of experience with swipebids. They instructed me to send in swipe's guaranteed refund form via registered mail and if swipe didn't come through our credit card company would help us. Thus I brought up a chat window, requested the form and followed all instructions to the tee. I politely insisted the swipe rep tell me it was not required that I do any bidding to get my refund. I printed the chat and saved it and mailed in the form via registered mail. You have to then wait two weeks and contact swipe again. Another chat session. I inquired to my refund status and the rep told me it was done but may not show up on my card for six days. I requested she tell me the last four digits of the card that swipe credited. It was the right one. Again I printed the chat. True to their word, in six days I saw the refund on my card. I've heard stories of others who didn't get it. I'm not sure if they called their card or sent in the refund form via registered. I suspect that makes a difference. I'm out about 7.50 for the registered letter and pricelessly smarter for the experience. This was our first and now last rip off of this type.

IMPORTANT: If you are scammed by SwipeBids, do not take the time to fill out their Money-Back Guarantee form. This is a ploy to prove to the bank that you understood what you were engaging in. Simply, call up your bank, state your credit card was stolen, and that you noticed it with the SwipeBids charge. Your bank will remove this charge, you will get your money back, and it will help shut down sites like SwipeBids due to high chargeback ratios.

GOT MY MONEY BACK FROM SWIPEBIES so far. Back in June, I contacted my credit card company. I told them that I was dissatisfied with the service that Swipe Bids gave me. The bank charged all my charges back to Swipebids and so far they have has not tried to defend themselves. All you would have to do is show the bank the BBB rating and print out this blog and they would look pretty bad. Just be sure you are not charging them with fraudulent activity, I thing you could have success. Try it anyway.

Yes I was skillfully conned out of $180 for a one year subscription. I tried to get my money back and had to give up trying, so I decided to cut my losses and just play to win instead. After less than 6 weeks into my one year subscription they started to make it impossible for me to access into my account so I could continue playing even though my subscription is agreed for a year and I have bids to play with? So now I have spent $181 simply to be robbed. I am disabled with no job prospects too so I sincerely hope the crooked owner gets whats coming to him in this life. And why hasn't some authority done something about this site already. How can a US/UK based company get away with this pile of... THE PROPRIETER IS: FREDDY GOMES and a UK contact address is: Circle Media Bids Ltd, 72 High Street, Haslemere, Surrey, GU27 2LA... other contact info worth trying is: http://graymobi.com/C/*******/******* and *******870 (phone No. I think -Mon - Sat 8am to 9pm and Sun 10am to 6pm)

I too was ripped off by Swipebids.com in the amount of $150. My bf and I tried our damnest to talk to "swipebid representatives" online and actually on the phone. Every single person said the same thing " NO, this is not a scam blablablabla... We have a 30 day money back guarantee as long as you lose all of your bids in 30 days we will refund your money." **FYI** They give you 30 bid points per day even if you do not log in, so it is IMPOSSIBLE to get your refund.

****FYI**** Report it to your bank or credit card company IMMEDIATELY even if it includes you reporting your card stolen or lost.
I reported my credit card stolen and my company "investigated the charge" and gave me my money back easy as that.

AFTER I ENTERED MY CC# I THOUGHT MY COMPUTER HAD A VIRUS, ALL THESE POPUPS SAYING NO REFUNDS NO CANCELLING, THEY GIVE YOU THAT INFO. AFTER THE REGISTERING.
