I tan very easily, and usually do not have any problems developing a nice golden tan within a couple of weeks. I've been going for 3 months and barely have any color. They'll tell me it's my lotion, I need to switch up beds ect. Some of the bulbs are even out in the beds. So I'm spending money on lotion and a membership only to pay for upgraded beds when all you have to do is change the bulbs regularly? I wish they weren't the only game in town. Next year I'll be looking elsewhere.

Ripoff

I wish I would have read these reviews before signing up. I wanted a 6 month membership only. Come to find out they continued to charge after the 6 months and would not reimburse. Poor customer service through their chat service. Tried so may times to call and speak to a real person but no one ever answered the phone. Worst customer service ever!

Staff are unfriendly at Brunswick Me salon. No Hi how are or even acknowledging you. Staff not knowledgeable about services some staff are n some not. Been in 3 x into spray tan come out orange like wtf? So I say I don't want to be orange no staff can help? The redhead staff person is useless! They obvious don't like their jobs. So why work there? Wish there was another place closer that had friendlier staff. I go like the lady that has long blonde hair she's very friendly.

I purchased an annual membership and at the end of it, they turned it into a monthly membership, charged my card to an account I don't use anymore AND charged me $25 NSF fee. I called customer service and they refused to refund me. They also HIDE the cancellation option on their website. That's just bad business if you ask me. So it cost me almost $60 and I hadn't been there is months. So angry.

I wanted one month of unlimited tanning. I was told because I joined in middle of month so I would have to pay to the end of second month. They gave me no paper receipts or copy of whatvI signed. Two months later I discover they've been with drawing money from charge card. I went I on May 2nd and they said too bad- your money has already been with drawn
Do not ever let them keep your card on file. I was told they keep withdrawing until they're told differently l. Clever little bait and switch. Avoid.

I got ripped off and walked out when staff wanted to argue with me. I am going back to Total Eclipse. At Total Eclipse staff is super nice. Everything is nice and clean, customer service is great and when you have questions, they make sure you get questions answered immediately. Don't waste your time and money ar sun tan city!

I was scammed out of $160.00 dollars. They lead me to believe that I had a very special friends and family one month rate. Lol... Instead I unknowingly was put on a membership and charged over $160.00. What a scam. How is this business not run out of town?

They automatically take the money out of your account on the first day of the month and refuse to refund it if you want to cancel your account. Then you can't cancel it or else you will have paid for nothing.

App sucks

The spray tan here is tops! The beds are average. The apps, it's a joke. You pay monthly and want to go when you want to go. App will say no wait but when you arrive it's 10-15 minute wait. There's no seat to wait due to Covid. You can't make an appointment and you can't go till after your exit time. So if you go after work on Monday say 5:15, Tues it's 5:30 and Wednesday 5:45. If you have to wait 15 mins then you add that and by end of week you got to skip a day to make it convenient for your after work stop. Just sucks that's all. And the instant bed, after 10 visits I expected more tan. Staff is nice. Place is clean. Just hate the app.

After tanning with Sun Tan City for over 4 years and recently spending $60 on lotions and having several points left, a rude girl told me today that without a membership I forfeited my points and I needed to leave. She didn't ask if I wanted to buy another membership just that I couldn't tan and needed to leave. What a horrible little smart ellic. I did file a complaint with thier customer service. Now I'm looking elsewhere to tan.

Sun tan City in Columbia Tennessee had a special going on to get tanned in one month for $100 by the time I was done I was charged $118 and I had to sign something saying that it was for one month. I paid that on my debit card I asked the girl several times if I was going to be charged anymore out of my account and she said absolutely not that they would not take no more money out of my account 3 weeks later they stole $150 out of my account and refuse to give it back because they said that I signed a contract saying that I would pay that every month flat out lie. Do not trust their specials the only reason they want debit cards and not cash or check is so that they can debit your account every time they want to just letting you know to use your judgment before you pull out your card for Sun tan City it's not worth it they made my account overdrawn and caused me a lot of grief I would not recommend this company to anybody they are low down sneaky thieves

WHAT THE HELL?

I went into the Waterville Me Suntan city tonight, Oct. 26. There were 3 new girls I have never seen. I walked in with a "Hi!" One with an masquarade mask on and the other with a too low V neck superman tshirt on looked at me and said nothing! Mask woman went into office while superwoman was doing something on computer. The third girl was kind enough to reply with"how are you tonght?" I have never walked into this establishment and felt so uncomfortable! I dont know what you're thinking putting girls behind the counter with no personality or customer service! I am a VIP member and been one since you opened in my town. Probably wont stay if this is what I pay for in an UNRELAXING enviroment!

Old beds.

My local suntan city has not updated their beds since the place opened. They do change the bulbs when needed because those beds will not work once its time to replace them. I ask why different locations have much newer and better beds and was told, the owners never wanted to invest any money into the place. So I am stuck in a location that has ancient beds, because the owners are cheap. And the company itself will not make them upgrade. Or I can drive an hour to the much better locations. Once this membership is up, I will not be giving them anymore of my money. I have already had my debit card number changed. So there is no way for them to keep drawing money out of my account. All it takes is a five minute call to your bank or credit card company to change your card number. Also, the pushy sales people really get on my nerves. I know they have to try to push the products, but I am not paying 80 bucks for a bottle of lotion that cost them at the very most, 10 dollars. They all have the same ingredients in them, use the cheaper stuff from Walmart and get the exact results.

I've researched my situation through SunTanCity reviews and I'm not the only one that got ripped off through being told I was getting a one-month membership to find out that my credit card continued being charged monthly while I was out of state (hence why I only tanned for one month, to get ready for my stay in the south). I have no paperwork, no account, no emails confirming that I signed up and even had an account to access. I also contacted the corporate site chat and was offered a Glowcard and told I would receive it in 14 days if approved, and found out after I had to call back to check on status that is was denied. All I can say is that a business model has been actively set up to get customers to purchase membership unknowingly. And when the only option to close the account is to physically come in and close it, is also a model to make it has difficulty as possible to stop a membership. Don't use this corporate franchise. At least I'm know I'm not the only one that was ripped off. Pathetic

Should I ever be able to tan again, I will absolutely never do business with them again nor will family or friends. 3 months into my 6 month agreement I became disabled with proof. There were no funds going into my checking account. Sierra literally stated if I needed to have it canceled, I should have called from my hospital bed. Because, clearly that was my top priority. While I wait for my Disability to start, I had to borrow funds to pay my rent. Suntan city jumped right on pulling out over $219.00 to complete their agreement. In return causing my rent check to bounce and a returned check fee. They have proof that I was not tanning, I offered proof that I became disabled. They are an absolutely heartless corporation that truly doesn't care about it's customers and only cares about taking peoples money. My agreement ended 2 months ago. Yet, because I couldn't call or go online to cancel the account. They absolutely refused to refund me anything. To some $219.00 is nothing, to me it's everything right now. I would seriously think twice about doing business with them. Or God forbid if you are a single person, such as myself. I guess make sure you tell someone on your death bed to contact Sun Tan City. Over the years I have spent a lot of money on tanning and products with them. Absolutely never again.

So I went to sun tan city and after tanning there a few years back I knew they did contracts, when I purchased my visits this go round I specifically asked if I was doing a contract and the girl told me no(had I known otherwise I wouldn't have signed). So after tanning there two months and getting increasingly irritated I had reached my limit when I was told a bed was ready it just needed to be cleaned and then the person behind gets that bed and I have to wait and then when I do get a bed it won't turn on. I got dressed, walked out and went straight to club tan in Lenoir city and purchased a membership there only to find out that the following morning that I've been suckered I into a contract with sun tan city. Now its going to cost me $160 to cancel but I will pay to get away that place. So people dont sign unless you know for certain with your own eyes what you're signing cause the employees aren't going to be honest!

I chose this location because of a Cryotherapy and Hydromassage bed.With a $120+ a month membership - you can receive both of these treatments.However, the beds last ten minutes.Therefore, I would need to use the bed two or three times each visit.This was NEVER a problem at this location or any other location.Last month, I was in a flare up that left me unable to walk most days and on bed rest by 1-4pm most days.When arriving at the Hurstbourne location, desperate for pain relief,the salon director told me I couldn't do the cryotherapy or hydromassage twice in a row.I explained that this was never an issue before.Nor is it suitable or supportive of chronic pain relief. Ten minutes once a day just doesn't do the trick.The salon director wasn't receptive or apologetic.This lackluster behavior, terrible customer service, and inconsistent communication between staff wasn't new.Every employee at this location (minus a sweet lady with glasses), doesn't greet you upon entering the building.They will finish a phone call,texting,inappropriate conversation with clients etc. before you are greeted.I have waited ten minutes to be greeted but on average three minutes.The salon director has had full conversations on her phone lasting five minutes before greeting me.However,BBB doesn't allow that many characters.I would visit another location if the cryotherapy was elsewhere.

This type of treatment is a slap in the face to people paying hard earned money for extensive services. After almost a year at STC, I switched back to my MedSpa. More expensive but worth it to not dread dealing with their customer service and leaving with a negative experience when you go almost daily!

As someone with debilitating chronic pain and dis-abilities, the last experience I need or want to go through is humans that don't care about you.Those of us with dis-abilities are already invisible and ignored by society.To be treated inhumane is not worth ten minute pain relief.
