I am a student customer that was introduced to Student Universe through my study abroad program ISA. I was originally so excited with how many different options there were for flights. Unfortunately, my excitement diminished once my flight needed to the canceled. I have called now 5 times with no resolution, continued refusals of escalated the calls and a repeated line of "rest assure this will be handled in 24-48hrs." This has been the worst experience with international flight and customer service I have experience. I will no longer be utilizing this company. This matter has gone on for over 2 months and my flight that needs to be cancelled is now less than a month away. It is very unfortunate that the customer service and follow up is not existent when students traveling abroad already have a lot to manager.
I bought a ticket with a carry-on and a checked bag included, after paying I find out on the email that check back is not included I'm very upset and I call customer service and getting customer service help. I hope they solve the problem.

2 Did not disclose fees in correspondence until AFTER I agreed to the credit
3 Terms were changed months after the credit was issued
4 They're refusing to let me use the credit for a round-trip flight, even if I pay the difference

I've been using Student universe since 2013 and your new website is horrific. It is so much harder to book my flights without the flexible dates option. I cannot change my currency with ease. I can't even login and find my bookings. There is no proper flow to how the pages work. Please revert to the previous features. I used student universe because it was convenient but I will stick to google flights for now.
In addition, there is something wrong with your date fields. When I change the date in one, it affects the date in the other. I have to reselect my dates a few times to get the right range.
CSO talk over to the me no good service very bad service. They lied on the customer not transfer call to TL if requested. No refunded even have flexibile dates very bad no one goes with this service

Studied in Barcelona Fall 2024. Booked my Student Universe flight to and from beforehand. Near the end of my study abroad, I had to change my flight for a funeral so I could make it home on time. All I needed to do was change my flight one day earlier, there were available flights and seats on those flights. However, no matter how many times I contacted them, email, phone, text message, they never got back to me. I think I contacted them over ten different times, yet I received no help from anyone whatsoever. I had to book a separate flight on my own and it ended up costing me a whole lot more. I will never use this service again and I hope others do the same. On every other ratings website, they are rated terribly, however, on THEIR website, they're rated very well. Seems off to me...
I booked a flight from Student Universe traveling from London Heathrow to San Francisco via Lufthansa/ United Airlines code share. I initially received a confirmation and itinerary and was satisfied until 1) They lost my booking info per the website update without any attempt to send me a copy of booking info via email 2) My booking was deemed illegitimate due to payment discrepancy- I had no communication that a payment was unsuccessful from Student Universe until attempting to check in at the gate and being informed that there was no booking per the airlines' records. The lack of communication/ word from SUN is simply horrid. In addition, I was left hanging multiples times from customer service and had no responses from multiple email exchange requests. Avoid if possible.
We booked our flights to the Azores with Student Universe on Jan 10. We received a confirmation email that said "Your trip is confirmed". We checked this stressful part of our trip off... come to find out 13 days later I called them to correct a birth date error only to be informed casually that our tickets were cancelled because "the price had gone up by $200".
We did not receive an email from Student Universe to let us know nor anything from the airline. And when asked they said it is in their policy that they don't need to inform us.
My family has been planning this trip since 2021. It is a big deal for us financially. We almost didn't go because we were looking in June and the flights we $800-900 dollars. I ended up looking in April and saw flights for $640. So we bite the bullet to get our family tickets. Now this is costing my family over $850 more for this vacation. This is the first time my parents are traveling out of the country and right now we have hotels, rentals cars, etc. booked. And no way to get there.
I have used this company for over 10 years. I am horrified! What a horrible thing to do. I will NEVER use this company again.
Universe of liars, unethical people and incompetent staff! I booked flights to Europe that included baggage, with British Airways. When I went to the airline's website to see the booking it said that baggage was not included, although my booking details on Student Universe's website said it did. I rang three times to get this fixed, the first two times they said I didn't have to worry as luggage was included, but my booking was never updated to show this. The third time they said luggage was actually not included, it was a mistake during the booking process, they said. I complained as I showed them the screenshot that said luggage was included and the ticket was not cheap. They hang up on me, never answered my emails and then when I wanted to look for my booking again on their website, I got a message which said the details of the booking were no longer available, no details at all! I of course had to pay $300 to check in baggage on the day of travel. They also promised I would get a call back, I never did. This is a shocking organisation that tells you they sell cheap tickets and rip you off, have rude staff and engage in unethical practices. Go to any other travel agent, but avoid this one if you want to enjoy your trip. This is a an organisation that disrespects its customers, they are liars, and they should not exist.
I would give this company 0 stars if I could. I paid for extra luggage for my December flight from Ireland to Halifax. StudentUniverse did not forward my payment to the airlines so I had to pay TWICE for the same luggage. It's been almost a month and StudentUniverse says I am approved for a refund but they have yet to issue the refund. Every time I call or email I'm told it is priority... but I cannot speak to the actual department that issues refunds because they don't have a telephone number! Really?! I think they are just trying to scam people out of their money. Do not book with this company!

Don't get me wrong, if nothing happens to your flight, this site is a good comparison tool, and I booked a ticket through them before and nothing went wrong (like a normal experience you will expect).
However, this time when my flight schedule was changed and I need to reschedule, I learned my lesson. First off, the customer service has an insane long wait time -- if you are not calling them 6 in the morning, you are looking at 45 minutes min waiting time.
Secondly, I had a schedule change from the airline, so I called them to reschedule. It took me like 5 calls and a whole month to give me an alternative. AND, what is more insane is that they never followed up after I confirmed their proposed change! So I have to re-rescheduled because the reschedule no longer work. Okay now I thought I finally rebooked my flight. Then I found out that neither that is confirmed because I spontaneously checked my flight status on the airline website and I couldn't find my reservation. This is in a span of four months! FOUR F**king months and I can't even count the number of hours I wasted on the phone! I am now 2 weeks out from my travel date for a flight I book half a year ago, and actively solving the re-re-reschedule for 4months, and I am still not sure if I can travel.
As of today the only response I got is they are still checking with the airlines to see what option I could have LMAO!
