What reviewers want you to know

Positive highlights

  • When they were calling for all day thunderstorms, I called stub hub 800 number, and talked to a real person.
  • Customer service immediately looked into it and long story short, they replaced our tickets with EVEN BETTER ONES!

Critical highlights

  • My next step is to dispute the charges with my credit card company.
  • So i paid 4x face value for inferior tickets and I am more or less told too bad after 55 minute phone call.

“Stubhub always delivers”

Have used several times Ive never had a problem. Service charges are a little high but that seems to be typical of ticket companies. I made the mistake of using seatgeeks and it was a disaster. I'll stick with stubhub for all my future on line ticket needs.

Beware! This company is a criminal organization. StubHub scammed us badly. We flew from Toronto to Mexico City to see Madonna. Tickets they sent were invalid despite me calling them the day-of the concert to ensure their validity. We were turned away at the gate, along with hundreds of others who also purchased from StubHub and Viagogo (sister companies). Heartbreaking for us and thousands of dollars wasted in expenses to travel there. Don't get scammed like we did.

Verified purchase

This app said tickets were available when it wasn't and then still charged me for the tickets when they said error. Called customer service they said they were having too many calls due to errors and if your event isn't tonight, they can't help you. Luckily when I called again someone was able to help me and refund me. Then I was able to buy a new set of tickets but then the seller contacted me saying they don't have the tickets available. When I contacted stubhub they said the best they could do was either refund me or credit my account. The concert is already in 3 days and the tickets have either fluctuated in price or the section I wanted is already sold out. If they would have helped me same day, I would have been able to get better tickets sooner. I'm waiting on customer service to send me a credit. If I can't find better tickets I'm calling customer service to just refund me and never using them again because the event was supposed to be for a surprise birthday gift and I spent so much money through their app error and them not making sure the seller has the tickets in hand. Really dissapointed and frustrated. Will update about the process.

In February, I bought tickets for the concert, which will take place in June, but when they write to me after the purchase that if they send the tickets the day before the concert, it seems to me a little late. Seriously, I'm going to be quite uncomfortable when I sit on a plane the night before the concert, have paid accommodation and all the stuff around and tickets nowhere. If they had sent them at least a month in advance, I would have been more satisfied and not so stressed. But as I say, the concert is In June. Everything can change (probably for the worse), but if there is a problem, I'll change my rewiew.

Cost a lot more buying tickets from these guys than what it would have cost if I got them earlier at the venue. Oh well, that is what you get when you wait. Or in my case, I did not know the band was playing until much later after tickets went on sale. Too bad society has to put up with this type of sales where companies buy up all the tickets and then turns around and gouges the public. This is about as close to scalping tickets as you can get.

• Updated review

Update on the last review - I was finally validated and received the money for my re-sale tickets this past weekend. Not quite a month after the sale was completed. The team has also refunded my transaction fee as a sign of good faith.

My thoughts - the initial sale setup experience was seamless. It is a GREAT site for usage, simple setup with multiple ways to submit your resale and far simpler to the setup than Ticketmaster for resale.

The bad: there was no indication as a first time seller that my account would be *flagged* as suspicious nor was I allowed to communicate with the Security team when I called the support desk. And the front line support team was less than helpful - kept telling me to wait 48 hours to be emailed every time I called. When I did work with the Security team to prove my existence, no reason was ever provided as to the flag on my account and the request for clarifying information was invasive considering no reason for it was provided. It honestly feels like they are trying to steal your identity. As well, it seemed like they only decided to reach out after I negatively reviewed across multiple sites.

The recommendation: TALK TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. If you want us to be transparent, the same is expected. If the account lock down is some sort of standard procedure, do not allow the resale setup UNTIL IT IS COMPLETE.

Worst reselling experience.
I had purchased 2 Backstreet Boys tickets then received two better seats as a gift so posted them on Stubhub for resale.

The original tickets were from Ticketmaster who would not let me set up an account for resale as my bank account is Canadian, not American.

The initial sale setup seemed to go flawlessly. We posted the tickets using the QR code screenshot method and within hours the tickets had sold. Notifications keep coming to my email that my money is available however Stubhub has locked me out of my account.

When called, their front end told me that my account was with their security team but that I cannot talk to them directly. They need to reach out to me. I sent them proof of ownership for the original tickets and they've gone completely dark except for the continuing emails about signing in to receive my money.

Total scam to resell and keep the cash for themselves

I purchased tickets for a soccer match almost a month ahead of time, to later find out that the match date had changed 2 days before I purchased them, but StubHub didn't update it, in fact it hadn't been updated until I emailed them to complain. After calling them multiple times, multiple chat conversations and jumping a lot of hoops, I was directed to email the CEO. Got a call today, and they're resolving the issue so good outcome. A lot of hassle though to get there though, it shouldn't be this hard to get someone to actually listen to you and help. A lot of people I spoke to either had their hands tied or could care less about their customers. Use them at your own risk.

Slow purchase time. A lot of extra fees. Tickets are overpriced. Website times out quickly. Required minimum seats to purchase is annoying.

I've purchased tickets here before without any problems but I tried listing an extra ticket and the site did not allow me to enter my card info. After going through the whole registration process it just left me stuck on the credit card portion. I tried from different browsers to see if that would do it and still nothing. I still havent received any help from them.

My expanse with stub hub was a rollercoaster 1st I bought my ticket months and events I get to the concert about 45 minutes to start time as a going to the line in scan a get red because my tickets are not working they tell me that I have to go into will call I'm waiting in line and will call than they tell me to go to customer service go to customer service they tell me they have nothing to do with it I need to call up stubhub and get it fixed I call them I'm literally outside the concert for about hour and a 1/2 trying to deal with getting my tickets and getting couple times through my email account and telling me that I'm supposed to hit send tickets I do that and keep going to the line I keep getting rejected finally someone in customer service buys me tickets sends me the screenshot of it and I get through the tickets that they bought me were tickets again there was not available because it was seated in the speaker area so then again I had to go to customer service wait in a 20 minute line and again get new tickets I did get upgraded to gets to the floor but I was an hour and 40 minutes late to even see in the concert so over all I was a little upset. After standing outside for over an hour and a 1/2 my feet was alredy hurting for the day I was already hot because it was a hot day and my mood was just alredy upset over all.

When I first tried to get two $20 tickets for tomorrow's game between Georgia and Louisiana-Lafayette, they asked me to create an account or else I couldn't order them. When I entered my debit card info in, it took too long for my order to get processed. After waiting a few minutes and refreshing, the site told me that my account had been locked since it failed to save several times! I called them and the staff unlocked my StubHub account for me under my appreciation, and after I created a new password for my account, then I saw that my order has been processed and I finally printed my eTickets in time! I found StubHub to be somewhat better than TicketCity but based on several negative reviews, meh. TicketCity however asked me to send them a photo of my license, credit card, and photo ID. I found out that I didn't trust them at that time and that this was a scam since after my previous experiences with the website, they were very good when I ordered my tickets for UGA's home games vs. Vanderbilt and Auburn. I looked up StubHub and they were sort of different, but at least I did it and I consider using the same site to print my tickets for our last game vs Georgia Tech on Nov 26.

Stub Hub (along with Get Me In and Viagogo) are NOT the people setting the price of the tickets - the prices are set by the PEOPLE SELLING THE TICKETS! Stub Hub then takes a commission payment from the seller. So... listen carefully one more time... these sites are RESALE SITES. They allow people to RESELL their tickets at inflated prices, and they then take a percentage payment from the SELLER as commission. Please stop blaming these sites for the prices you're paying - they are very transparent about the service they provide, even (in the case of Viagogo anyway) letting you know the face value of the tickets. Actual example text from Viagogo site... "Prices are set by sellers and may be lower or higher than face value. Prices exclude booking and delivery fees (applicable by transaction). Original face value price per ticket (excluding fees): 35.00 - 85.00 GBP"
