My son bought me a "dream bed" from Steinhafel's in December of 2017. For many months, I have been having issues with sleeping and aches/pains. I finally decided to check the mattress, and you can see what it looks like in the photo. I contacted them and they said the warranty was up this past December, so there is nothing they can do. Not only do they sell crappy merchandise, but they don't care about their customers.
Steinhafels doesn't stand by their furniture. Poor quality. Furniture and customer service is a joke. I spent over $3300 on furniture that arrived broken not assembled correctly. Don't waste your time or hard earned money at Steinhafels. If you want to be treated like a valued customer. Purchase your furniture anywhere else.
I will be posting this to every place I can on social media, this is a terrible way to do business! I believe the chair I received may have already been broke when it was returned by the first customer before it was put in your clearance section. The chair could have been temporarily repaired just enough to hold. There is no way this damage would have happened so quickly Avoiding customers is really unprofessional, and does not put you in a good light for $240
I then called to get it fixed and that didn't happen either.
Our remote went bad for our recliner. We have service contract we told them what we needed they said a service man had to come check it out. Came out said they have to order one.it has been about a month still waiting. The serviceman had to come out to to see if it was the remote as if they didn't believe us
Recently purchased a bed and mattress for $6,000 and was told if I don't like my mattress then I can exchange it within 120 days (providing I purchase the expensive protector) and I did. She also explained that there would be a $149.00 restock if I needed to exchange it.
After 90 days we decided the mattress was not what we wanted and returned to the store to exchange it. We picked out another mattress that was $50.00 more so I expected Cindi (sales lady) to tell me I owed $199.00 plus any tax. Come to find out there was a $300 rebate when buying $5000 or more that I also had to pay back if I exchanged the mattress.
So $199 turned into $526. I've emailed and called customer service and they will not do anything.
I wish I had read the reviews before my purchase. In my opinion the sales people are just crooked as she could have said this when purchasing the mattress.
Lies and fine print... look out for both. Our sales person told us more than one time that we would have delivery by early October 2020... even though it was July 17th... we decided to wait it out because it was something. After months I called to find out what the status of our order was and found that delivery was scheduled for JANUARY 2021! Repeated checking yields no results at all now. I can't get any money back until November 17th. THEN I can cancel my order. Salesman says 8 to 10 weeks, you better have him write it on your order and include you can cancel at anytime without penalty or you will give them your money and let them do whatever they want to with it for MONTHS! No wonder they have such a nice big building, MY money is paying for it interest free! CRIMINALS
You can buy alot of thier inventory at walmart and have it delivered to you, many of the smaller items are type you put together at home. It's not presented that way I thought I was buying quality. If you don't believe me, go look. And save yourself money, I wish I did.
Ordered furniture for a brand new home a month before closing on the new property. Was told the furniture would be in about two weeks after the closing which was fine. However, we are now over a month in the new home and every time we check order status it gets worse and now are in to mid November. Plus once it arrives it will be another 3 weeks before they can deliver so we are easily into December. Yet they run sale after sale doing this same thing to people each day. Terrible way of doing business and very deceitful. Will NEVER go there again.
I would advise everyone to not waste their time at Steinhafels. We have been long time customers and have spent thousands. Besides some of the furniture not holding up for very long their customer service was terrible. We were shown a leather couch in a certain color and once it was delivered was about 20 shades darker. We had even gone in before it was delivered to question the color since it was shown so dark online and was reassured it was what I had taken a picture of in the showroom. Now I had asked if it's an option to get the couch in the color expected and if not if they would wave the restocking fee they said no. I had two people call me to tell me I was wrong and that they would do nothing to make it right and I have pictures to prove the difference. They told me it was either the lighting or the phone. I have never been treated so poorly especially after spending thousands on a couch. Do not waste your time going here.
I purchased a mattress less than 2 months ago and it has a horrible sag in the middle. They claim that the bed frame is the problem and now want to sell me one and then resubmit the claim. (No guarantee that they will stand behind the new claim).
Awful customer service. Rude and arrogant. We needed the lowest height mattress possible of which the salesman was aware. Even discussed the necessity of cutting 2-3 inches off of the head/footboards based on new mattress thicknesses. We were never offered a low profile box spring and only found out about it 2 days after delivery from an ad on TV. Called and wanted to order one but have it be delivered at N/C as it was not offered but would have been purchased immediately had the salesman done his job in offering it. Everything would have been delivered in the same truck with 1 charge. They accused me of deciding that I needed it after getting the mattress and trying to force them in to free delivery. NOT THE CASE! Poor sales job. Poor customer service. I have lots of new furniture left in my life, but not 1 dime will go to Steinhafels. For the sake of a 10 minute delivery I'll now tell everyone that I know.
Steinhafels has always been our go to for years. It seems the quality and customer service has gone downhill. We purchased a sectional last year. We have had nothing but issues. Pieces have been replaced, service has been out numerous times. We have been waiting for a wedge now for over 6 months. Couch has been broken for longer. Luckily I am working from home so that we do not have to keep taking off for service. We paid $2,400 for this piece of junk. I will NEVER shop there again. Managers do not call back. They do not respond to BBB. Next time I will purchase Amish furniture. They clearly do not stand behind the items they sell and it is all crap. Please so your research before you shop at this place.
Don't have them deliver anything since it gets screwed up. They don't care about customer service and making it right. I asked to speak with a manager and John in Customer Service refused to pass on the message. I will never shop there again! Don't waste your money there.
I wanted to buy a small end table from their Outlet Center in Waukesha. It was on sale for $58. A monkey could have picked it up and walked it out to the car, but they insisted that due to liability reasons, neither I nor one if their employees could do so and that I would have to pay $50 to have it delivered! WHAT! No sale.
I had a bed delivered on Friday 4/1 my wife took off work. We paid to have installed. It was missing parts so we agreed they would come back Monday 4/4 after 3:30. No emails or messages over the weekend. I get a call at 9:00am that they will be there in 10 minutes. I tried to explain the situation but the person I was dealing with said he did not care either be there in 10 minutes or reschedule. This was there problem. They don't hesitate to talk about extra stocking fees or charges for changing delivery dates. But I guess with all the bad reviews I see I see they do not care. I will probably not even get a call from a manager.
Manager at the Steinhafels in Greenfield Wisconsin was very unprofessional. He told me to wait for a salesperson to call on the status of my delivery but knew all along my table would not be delivered on the selected date. He did not apologize at all for the mistake that one of his employees made while setting up the delivery. Manager did not try to accommodate me at all. I asked for a refund and he stated he would gladly do that. He was no help at all. Save yourself some time and don't shop there.
I bought my sectional less than a year ago at Steinhafels in Waukesha WI And the fabric is uncomfortable to sit on because it is pilling and balling up. Its like sleeping on cheap sheets the sectional is located in my family room. Its just my husband and myself we have no pets when I reached out I was told to get a fabric shaver really! I was never told the fabric would do this when I bought it but I guess that's just the way Steinhafels works sell the crap not there problem. Dont waste your time or money at this store.
We spent $550 (on sale from $1,000) on a coffee table fireplace The assembly took 3.5 hours because we found out at the end that the top wood piece was bowed- so parts weren't fitting togther. We decided to keep it and now (1 week later) the cheap veneer on the wood is bubbling and peeling. They said to return it they will charge $175 for them to pick it up. We have to take it all apart again to fit it in my car. Now they want to charge a $75 restocking fee. I will NEVER shop there again.
I ordered a specific sofa in May and was told it was in stock and not subject to the current delays. Absolute latest it should be delivered was 4th of July. Now it was recently bumped to October. They give me no indication of when it will be in and states I can order another "in stock" sofa? How can I trust them when the current "in-stock" sofa is 6 months delayed. They lied to get me to buy a sofa and pay in FULl and offer no help getting this sofa. I will NEVER shop there again!
Unbelievable our experience today! Our floor was nicked during delivery and loveseat not fit in out room. But they will not listen or even say we're sorry just that's how it is we can do nothing but charge 15%. We spent $5000 here and that's how we're treated.
