UNHAPPY CUSTOMER!

My husband and purchased Gettysburg Pub Table for our sunroom back in November of 2020. At the time of the purchase, the table was on a hard surface in the Menomonee Falls Showroom Floor. We picked it up in Waukesha distribution center and headed for home to set it up. To our surprise, since we have a carpet in our sunroom, the table was extremely top-heavy and the pedestal base it sits on was incredibly wobbly! It was not safe to sit at what so ever! So we packed it back up neatly in the box it came in. I called the store ahead of time and explain the situation and they said they would be waiting for us to return. I mentioned that there is no way I should be charged a 15% restocking fee, based on the safety of this table on carpet. After returning the table I noticed there as a $55 restocking fee that had not been credited back to my account. I called Customer Service and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I asked to speak to a manager and they said the manager had made their decision that there would be no refund of the restocking fee. My husband and I walked back into the Steinhafels in the Falls and asked to speak face to face with a manager. Jake Robers was at the front desk and said he was one of the store managers. We explained the situation and he said all he could do is contact customer service. At this point, all I asked for was FAIR. An instore credit was the compromise I was looking for to make this a win win. After a few days Jake Robers emailed me that customer service had already made their decision and would not be issueing a refund or an instore credit.
CUSTOMERS BEWARE of STEINFAFELS RETURN POLICY! If you get the item home and it doesn't work for what ever reason, it will COST you! Please pass on this information so no one else gets burned by STEINHAFELS!
