I uploaded 3 songs to my Starnow profile & paid my subscription fee on March 1st.
When I did a search for my profile the next day, it stated "This member does not have any audio tracks."
I emailed them to say there was a fault, & also asked for their phone number.
I received a standard reply from 'Renee' saying "it can take 24 hours to embed and show in the talent directory search. Please let us know if it is still not working after this time."
So I did.
I emailed back saying it's still not working & can someone please contact me. I'm still waiting for a reply, and my profile STILL says there's no audio. It's been a week now & they've got my 30 quid. And there's no phone number to call. (Very convenient.) I feel ripped off.
Appalling service.
I don't understand why nobody's doing anything about this scam casting agency.
They have scam several actors with bogus leads and some of the leads may seem real but then they get canceled a few hours before the shoot

I got in contact with StarNow via email as I needed some advice. To be honest I wasnt expecting any assistance any time soon, as is often the case with big companies these days, but StarNow responded to me within the hour. By anyones standards in todays climate, that is beyond impressive. They were understood my query and were swift to give advice and reassurance.

I joined Starnow in 2011 when I was new to London and trying all the casting sites - and it's the only one I've consistently stayed with. From the start I got nicely paid jobs across a range of areas in the industry and as a result was able to go full time as an actor the following year. So grateful I took a chance!

My account is cancelled. I have been charged more than twice now when my membership/log in details no longer exists or is recognised. I have replied to 'Renee' in your team, and taken time to provide her of proof of these recurring transactions. And 24 hours have passed and still no response. What is going on? Thanks.

Out of all the auditions sites I would say StarNow is by far the best. They actually check to make sure the jobs are real & they have way more than any of the others I'm a member of. I know they have been around for over 10 years and I follow them on Twitter where they post urgent paid jobs which is great for me as I'm super busy with University and only want paid extra work.
My mate got an agent from StarNow & their customer service is pretty quick (especially if you tweet)
A very useful site for auditions & jobs and better priced than many of the others.
StarNow is, without a doubt, a such great platform for both talents and casting professionals. Hugh thanks to you guys, I have been getting so many exciting opportunities and get to meet and work with such amazing people. At this very moment, I am on my way to be feathered in a Music Video. It's been only couple of months that I have been active with StarNow, I have really truely been getting unbelievably amazing opportunities, just for this week inself, I've been consecutively booked for paid jobs, shortlisted or on hold or been in touch with casting professionals.

Hi. I randomly decided to take a plunge and look into applying for shows. Acting. Singing etc. ive no experience only in modelling. I accidently came across Starnow site. Filled in the application and in after applying for a few posts. I was suddenly narrowed to go on a cruise. Be a singer for a short film. Asked to go on an itv show etc. in just a week my confidence level had reached a high. Positions I applied for thinking I wouldn't get. I was then offered to go for audition. This site is professional. Get response quickly and who knows what will happen next. Certainly worth a go. Thanks guys;-)

Not a very good service, particularly in comparison to industry sites such as Casting Call Pro. Much more annoyingly, I cancelled the paid part of my service in the first half of October, when I was pretty sure I had done so earlier in the year. Nonetheless, I cancelled, only to be billed once again in mid-November. I logged in to see that I was again signed up on the paid service, despite having cancelled.
Even more annoyingly, I was told that I would not be refunded, as I would only be entitled to a refund within the first 60 days of having got the service.
So apparently StarNow have decided that they can ignore cancellations and bill as they please, given the consumer no refund or recourse.
Avoid. There are better far, far better resources anyway, such as Casting Call Pro and Spotlight.

They will take your money and cancel you account. 95% of "jobs" are non paying. In fact it will cost YOU money to be in these amateur productions. They will set up an automatic deduction from your account and then argue about it if you question their integrity. Read all of the fine print on their website! You will still waste your money buy at least you will know why. They are so money grubbing that they would rather keep your $49 than have satisfied customers. For them it is money for nothing and they don't give a damn about you.
If you don't want any paying work and want to lose some (lots) of MONEY then sign up today. But if you have more than half a brain sign up to a decent site.
Hi Barry, I’m sorry that you do not agree with our refund policy.
As Anya from our Customer Success team has mentioned to you previously, we have a recurring subscription which is outlined in our terms and conditions on our site, and members actively agree to this when they decide to subscribe. No money is taken from our customers without their consent.
While many of our members are interested in collaborating on certain projects for free to gain experience, we also have lots of paid opportunities on our site. In fact, nearly 3/4 of jobs on StarNow are paid or offer expenses.

Be awere of automatic renewal! Make sure you want to renew, as they are doing it automatically. I have asked for a refund once they debited me, but they have told me they will not issue me a refund! They haven't even noticed me that there is time for renewal! In 6 months time didn't get any jobs from them! So no point paying them, there is plenty free platforms.

The recurring billing information is found on the payment page. It is also in our site terms of use, on the account settings page and on receipts that are emails after a payment is made. Members actively agree to this when they decide to subscribe – no money is taken from our customers without their consent.

StarNow what happened to this amazing site? Used to be so easy now it's full of restrictions and zero success stories
I remember in the year 2015 you could contact talent by simply messaging them by pressing the message button, now when you press message StarNow wants you to pay credits? It's a restriction for talent who aren't rich or earning a good amount of money. Basically starnow is now a money making machine who doesn't care about talent's success instead they don't care about the lower class anymore.
You pay 9.99 for month and get nothing special just able to apply for castings, again in 2015 it was free to apply to unpaid roles, but you had to pay 9.99 to be able to apply for all jobs and yeah now it's not the same.
You pay the 9.99 and you still can't message talent, I made so many friends in 2015 by messaging talent, collaborating on projects. Now starnow wants you to post a casting ad, however you get the same old talent applying and the new talent are restricted to apply for unpaid stuff, so they need to bring back messaging, they need to stop asking for money about applying for unpaid work and create a balanced website how it was in 2015. No restrictions and yes they can increase the price to 11p/m if that's what it takes to make it the best site for talented people. It's a one because starnow didn't listen to our advice for years, yet their excuse is to pay staff, they could easily do that with ads, and not restrict us

We’ve made it free to place casting calls, register, create a basic profile, and apply to some casting calls. We need to charge our full members a small fee to use the site to ensure we can continue to operate and provide the best service possible. Full members, who have a Standard, Premium or Elite subscription, are able to contact talent via the Talent Directory for free.

You'll find yourself lost on a site that you can't navigate around if your looking for anything specific. You have to be suspicious of a site that offers rewards for members if they follow other members. How absurd is that?. And a dead give away that it really is a money spinning sham. Don't waste your money

I had it for 6 months and didn't get a single paid role, there is basically nothing going on in my city on the site and when I asked for a refund it was refused. A total waste of money.

STARNOW is a scam. Avoid it. They take your money and then close your account.
I'm disabled and had someone that spent a whole night harassing me and when I reported them I got banned. Apparently some bogus casting director can harass you with unwanted, offensive and annoying messages but if you tell them to go away or tell them you will report them if they don't stop, the site classes that as harassment and threatening behaviour and take your money and ban you!
It's a 6 month recurring subscription you can't just join for a month and see if they are legitimate. It's a lot of money to lose and it goes through Paypal so you have no chance to get your money back. A SCAM!
A lot of the so called 'castings' are run by pervs or porn merchants or people that will take your money on the promise of a job that doesn't exist. Most are student projects and amateurs but you never find that out until you turn up on set. You can waste a lot of time and money. AVOID!
Keep away from these charlatans.
Once you sign up as an actor they will collect money from your PayPal or any cards you used.
They keep taking money from my paypal without my consent. Even though i keep telling them i dont want to be a member

We placed a casting call but due to 1 discrunteled applicant that we did not approve to enter, starnow canceled our account. All our paid leads now can no longer reach us which is a pure scam. After checking, our lawyers confirmed we did not break any rules or regulations. We lost time and money. Quality on the site is poor, mostly Australian residents.
Our advise; its not worth posting your casting here. For applicants; Modelmayhem is a far better choice with better assignments.

Just look at the postings. 38 5 star reviews and 31 1 Star reviews. Would you really give money to a company that was as Bipolar as this. I've worked in the entertain industry with real agents and managers for 20 years. I'm a SAG-AFTRA Actor and Dancer. If they ask you for a monthly fee it's a SCAM. First rule of Hollywood kids, if your not making money, they should not be making money

Ive been on this heap of $#*! website for 6 months and i only got one good audition from you. Your services suck. 30 dollars is bull$#*! for 6 months and i honestly think i wasted my time on this site.

Since their website update, it seems like the only jobs that you can apply to for free are event and sales management. And why would I want be a paying member for a job that I'm not even going to get paid for? These people are vey money hungry and I am so angry that they did that.
