SSLs.com was recommended in a computer security forum as an example of how easy it was now to get inexpensive certificates. I tried it on that basis as I needed a commercial certificate to test SSL settings, and indeed it was easy and inexpensive with a good choice of CAs.
I had expected an email notification that my certificate was ready, but it was simple enough to refresh my account page to check the status.
The only negative thing so far is lack of instructions on how to implement it. The email I recieved said to click a link for instructions but there were no instructions when you clicked the link. You had to register on support.comodo.com and then ask for the instructions. Then I had to figure out what OS my server ran on. This took several hours to figure out on my own.
The sad part is I'm still not done the instructions on Comodo's site are rather confusing and unclear. Not to mention they tell you to go in and edit and change the files that are sent to you and apparently 1 file isn't sent in the Zip file and i had to create it. The instructions are just not very clear.
I'll be working on this issue again today to try and figure out where to put stuff and hope it's the right place.
Didn't adapt well to a UK address and took several attempts to go through to PayPal, also instructions provided for Webmin but not for Virtualmin which was somewhat different on my setup... otherwise very good and excellent value!
Excellent price, and efficient service. Have contacted customer support for a previous order and received prompt, courteous, and accurate service. Have switched all my SSL business to ssls.com. An A+ in my book!
No description of the service, no description of the process. I had to pay before I knew anything I had to guess. And your form on this comment page does not auto fill properly.
Pretty good setup you have. I love the options to buy from multiple CA's Some easy upsell opportunities are missed.
You need clear instructions on how to setup the perfect.csr for wildcard domains. Create a wizard. Overall I like what you guys are doing.
In general, SSL certificates are bit expansive for the startup companies. We're one of them trying to launch our service in the market in pilot basis. We're confused seeing the rate in compare with other competitors of the SSL certificate prices in SSLS.COM. However the way we receive services it was simply excellent.
Very straight forward. Exactly as describe. Satisfied. However, Installation instructions could have had an example of two intermediate certificates being installed. Took me a day to figure out I was missing one certificate. Labels of my certificates did not exactly match the labels in the example. A README in the zip file could include a customized example installation.
Invoice should be addressed to the company. At the moment, copy of the invoice starts with the address?!
So, we had to call Anna Zvada, support, to change it!
Please change this in the future, so we do no waste our and Anna's time!
Thanks,
Ivan
The experience and the entire process, including support, was for me the most pleasant thing I had experienced in many years on the Internet.
Price: Unbeatable.
Procedure: Unbeatable.
Support: Gigantic. I haven't experienced better support yet.
I have found my home at ssls.com for SSL certificates.
Easy process, clear what to do. I followed the process as described by the seller. I chose to let SSLs validate access to the webserver by putting a special file at a specific location and letting SSLs check the presence of that file. This process worked fine and after just a few minutes, validation was completed and all files, needed for the certificate were sent to me by email.
Plus: private key is generated locally, no one else is able to read that file.
Little minus: No domain validation is done. Someone who hijacks the domain and uses his own webserver can obtain the certificate.
Nice site design. Could do with some feedback if you don't put the validation file in the right place. I had to contact support to find out that it wasn't in the right place and then remove a redirect that was causing a problem. The support person was very good though!
I'd suggest an improvement to UI flow when issuing/re-issuing multi-domain certificates. The handler of "ONWARD" button should check if sub-domains are typed in the field area and alert customer to click "Add" button to actually process the input of sub-domains. Thank you.
I was about to renew my certificate with another provider, but the price was a lot more then my first year with them. I decided to look elsewhere and came across SSLs.com. I switched and now use their certificates. I'm very happy with the product, and the price. Excellent service and value.
NameCheap provided incorrect instructions for creating a multi-domain EV SSL cert. At other companies, the customer requests specific domains, and after they are validated, the signing company adds them to list of Subject Alternative Names in the certificate signing request. NameCheap did not specify who is responsible for creating the SAN list. They will happily accept your money to create a certificate with multiple domains without checking the SAN list. As a result, I had to go back and forth with Comodo's support team to re-issue a certificate with the correct SAN list. And then I had to go back and forth with NameCheap's support team to download the correct certificate.
Not a good experience! And the price is not discounted enough to have to deal with these issues.
SSLs.COM service is awesome...they help me resolve an issue that my previous provider could not. I follow the instruction to download and install the certificate - all is good. I will use them again for the rest of my domains this year.
For those who have to used the bundle to extract the intermediate certificate...in the bundle I received, the intermediate Certificate is the first certificate in the file. I hope this help!
The support team helped me pick the right certificate. I was going to pay more than 4times the price I actually paid because of their help. The installation was easy. Thanks for the amazing experience.
When I was having issues receving my certificate shortly after it's purchase, support was on it almost immediately and got my certificate to me within the hour. It was perfect and effortless. Thanks so much!
SSLs has many different type of SSL Certificates to choose from, and most of those are very cheap compared to other re-sellers. Service was quick, and instructions on how to install your certificate were easy to follow and done in just minutes. If I ever need another Certificate, I'm sure I'll check theirs out first.
Well, I haven't used it yet and don't even know how (I know I will soon) so it's hard to say. So far it has been easy and while I don't know for sure that I can trust it your site looks legit enough to enter my payment info.
I've already paid, but you have not ask me site domains for what I want certificates for. It frustrates me. I'm not sure I'm doing the whole buying in the right way.
After I've payed, site gives me an ability to upload CSRs. It would be better to at least inform user in advance.
Answer: I have been using them for a couple of years and the certificates work fine for ecommerce.
