I booked three business class tickets to China online and entered all my card details. The payment was processed, and I received confirmation through my app while the transaction was going through.
At the same time, I received a phone call from one of the agents who said, "Madam, unfortunately the price you were given is no longer valid. We will need to charge you extra."
I was very firm and explained that I was still online checking the fare, and the price was exactly the same — in fact, slightly lower. I told them clearly that if they intended to charge me more, they should cancel the transaction immediately and I would rebook with another company.
I felt extremely uncomfortable and quite panicked, especially since they already had my card details. The agent said he would speak to his manager, and when he came back, he confirmed that they would honour the original price.
It was a very unsettling experience. Nowadays, you really don't know who is legitimate, so please be very careful when booking flights.
The problem was the exchange rate, the ticket was displayed in South African rands as I paid from my rand account I paid 3000 rands more that the price I saw on the website.

I booked a flight from Casablanca (CMN) to Doha (DOH) with an infant. The itinerary was operated by Qatar Airways, but it routed via Malaga (AGP), Spain: first Casablanca to Malaga on Royal Air Maroc, then Malaga to Doha on Qatar Airways. The layover in Malaga was less than 3 hours.
I have a valid Qatar residency permit (Qatar ID), and my final destination is Qatar. The drive from my hometown to Casablanca airport is about 4 hours, so I planned everything carefully.
When I reached the boarding counter at Casablanca airport, the staff refused to let us board. They said I needed a valid Schengen/Spain transit visa to transit through Malaga airport, even for a short layover in the international zone.
I was never informed about this requirement — not during booking on SmartFares.com, not in any confirmation email, and not by Qatar Airways or SmartFares teams afterward. No warning, no heads-up about transit rules for Spain.
My entire schedule is now ruined, my infant and I are stuck, and SmartFares has denied any refund or help. They are not communicating properly or taking responsibility for not disclosing critical travel information.
This is unacceptable, especially when traveling with a small child. The lack of transparency and poor customer service spoiled our trip completely.
I strongly advise everyone to avoid SmartFares.com. Choose a more flexible, reliable, and communicative travel agent or book directly with the airline. They may offer cheap fares, but the hidden issues and zero support make it not worth the risk.

This is the first time I've booked a flight through this app, and it offered a better price. The process was quick, and I received the confirmation email promptly. I then verified the booking on the airline's website, and everything was in order. I felt secure.
My last name did not fully get written into the reservation and I was told I would be charged an extra 120 dollars to fix that. I was not pleased with that decision and was able to get it fixed in the end without a charge. I think it's a shame that I couldn't fix my own name on my reservation without being charged over 100 dollars to do so.
I was forwarded to SmartFares by way of Google Flights. I was happy to see the great options and rates. Website was easy to use. I recommend.

I couldn't check my booking before I made the reservation, I didn't agree to pay and told that if the reservation has been done I cannot change anything, without a fee, not even after one minute. I have been charged $75 for changing the time for return. There are not good time options, only very early or very late in the day. I will never book with this site again.
Good service. If you have an issue with your reservation, they call you to help resolve it and follow up with you until the end.
Good experience buying but being spammed into writing a review by asking me to confirm my booking is a time dump. Otherwise not bad. Got a slightly price than the airline.
I accidentally double booked my flight. Within minutes of noticing I immediately contacted customer support. Got connected with somebody within 45 seconds, I kid you not. They were able to cancel the booking lickety split and I should be receiving my refund by Monday. I'm happy. Thank you.
I had an issue with the booking of my flight where the price shown on their website during the transaction and the one that was charged on my card was different (not just a USD to CAD change issue).
The customer support service was prompt to call me and were very understanding following the show of proof (screen capture). Issue got resolved quite promptly. Now I am quite reassured that everything will go smoothly as they will help with any issue along the way.

The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight. When you call them back, they will try to sell you another flight at a much higher price. SCAM SCAM AVOID!

Answer: Yes. They stated because of flight increase they canceled my flights. Then they wanted me to pay a balance of what the new increase was. So disappointing. I paid for four fares. They took the funds from the bank n then canceled my flights.
