This place is AWFUL. Super poorly run business.
I was referred here to get an Xray. Inconveniently, they do not take appointments for X-rays; you have to walk in during their open hours. I called to check their open hours, but their phone number only leads to an automated system (i. E. you cannot speak to someone to ask questions) that sends you to the website. The website has office open hours posted for each location that are plain WRONG. So, when I took an afternoon off work to go to Irvine for an X-ray, I was shocked to get there and be told they weren't open for X-rays. I clarified that the website said that they are. The office staff said the company is too cheap to maintain their website and so they have not updated their office hours to be accurate.
I find that totally unacceptable. You can't be a legit business and post the wrong open hours. How many other people have wasted their days going to this shoddy establishment?
Recommend avoiding this company at all cost. I had an ultrasound scheduled with them that required 12 hours fasting including NO WATER. They sent me several annoying texts to make sure I would be there and remind me of fasting needs. I arrived on time, tired, dehydrated and hungry, only to learn that the doctors order wasn't done properly. Sure would have been nice for them to check this AHEAD OF TIME, perhaps while sending me all the texts reminding me to fast. They couldn't get in touch with the doctor so I cancelled. Poorly managed company!
I'm writing this in hopes that others can avoid having the awful experience I had -- by going elsewhere. This whole place is a nightmare. I went in for a diagnostic breast mammogram. When I made the appointment, they failed to tell me that they needed my previous imaging -- and they also failed to get it from my doctor or the other imaging places. I have a broken knee, so I'm in a wheelchair, and my husband had to drive me. We drove all the way there, to be told that they refused to do the mammogram without my previous imaging. That was gas money, my time, my husband's time, the pain of dealing with a broken knee while getting in and out of a car, etc. Not to mention, if there is a problem, more time for it to grow. We rescheduled, and I spent literally a full day, nonstop, trying to get the images to them, since I figured they wouldn't be doing their job in them. On holds, menus, etc. Literally all day. I called them many times to see if they got the images, but for some reason, the call center can't connect one to the office. I got the office manager's number, but her voice mail was always full, and she never answered the phone. Fast forward to my next appointment. It was for 11:30 this morning. I got a text the day before saying it was for 11:30, but one later in the day saying 12:30, so I figured they changed my appointment time. My husband and I went in -- broken knee, gas money, both of our time, etc. They said I was an hour late. I said the appointment had been changed to 12:30. They said it wasn't -- that that was an automated center in Arizona and not their office. Then they said I had two appointments -- one at 11:30 and one at 12:30. I said I only had one -- for a diagnostic mammogram. They said I also had a diagnostic ultrasound. I told them something I had also told them last time I'd been there -- that I had had the diagnostic ultrasound elsewhere, and only needed the diagnostic mammogram. They insisted that it was for both. I said that since I was fifteen minutes early for my 12:30 appointment, would they please do just the mammogram. They refused. This is the last day of the year, and I have already met my insurance out-of-pocket, but as of tomorrow, I have a new out-of-pocket starting -- so I'll have to pay a co-pay. No matter what I said, they refused to give me my 12:30 diagnostic mammogram. I will never go back to this horrible, nasty, uncaring, rude, vile place. They don't care at all about their patients' time, money, or lives. (Because now I have to wait even longer to get a diagnostic mammogram -- and if anything bad is growing, this just gives it longer to grow before diagnosis and treatment.) This place is literally vile.
After my doctor submitted an order for a bone density exam, i was getting repeated phone and text messages from SimonMed. I called to schedule an appointment. Scheduler told me that he did not have an order for me. My doctor resubmitted the order. After my experience with there "online scheduling system", I made my appointment at the SimonMed facility. After making my appointment, I am still recieving phone and text messages from them. If this is an indication of how they run their front office, I would not recommend them. There scheduling system is a joke!
Abhorrent and Atrocious customer service. I wouldn't even give it 1 star! I scheduled my first appt at this location and the day before the appt they call to tell me they have no techs, ok fine. I reschedule a week later, that's all they had available. The day of the second appt, 2 hrs before the appt they call me again, no techs available and the only open location is across town in Mesa or Peoria. I asked for a manager to call me...nobody did. The day of the 3rd appt, 30min prior as I'm literally in my car driving, the alleged manager calls me and tells me the machine is down and we have to reschedule. At this point I'm livid, the manager as she called herself was rude, condescending, and didn't even offer to send me elsewhere until I demanded it. The manager then hung up on me...HUNG UP ON ME as if I am the problem. I will never, never ever use Simon Med again. Look at the BBB reviews, you will see hundreds of similar complaints of machines being down and techs not coming in and reps or employees doing the same rude behavior...no matter what site you visit. Trust me, go anywhere but here!
Before using SMI's services, I called and verified the costs and then checked with my insurance to verify authorization. After traveling 45 to my appointment, I was told they were running an hour behind. After that hour, I was told that their MRI machine was broken and sent 30 minutes to another facility. I finally received my test after another 2 hour wait. When my billed came, it was double the amount that I was told and they will not reduce it. I will not ever return.
Nothing but incompetent staff. The VA will Not be utilizing care here for Central FL veterans anymore. This facility has old technology and hispanic males who like to verbally abuse female patients. Why companies hire staff who barely speak English is horrible. This concerns the Winter Park, FL and Longwood, FL locations only.
They're sending bills by text and email for a mammogram that Medicare pays for they obviously didn't submit the paperwork to Medicare as they have in the past
Since my PCP sent them a referral just yesterday at 3 PM, within less than 15 hours, I have had six texts and five phone calls generated by the Simonmed system. I understand they run a business and do not care about patient privacy, calling and texting nonstop from various numbers. That does not include emails. After I scheduled my tests today, their system generated a phone call to prepare them. It's nice that they use technology, but it seems they have 0 control of their algorithms, bots, and system overall. I am submitting a complaint to FCM and Consumer Protection Bureau his hustle is not acceptable.
You cannot get an xray scheduled. They will only do walk-ins for xrays. But that typically means you will have to wait way too long (two hours or more based on my experience) to finally get in. Happened to me again today. I expressed that concern at the front desk, and the gal said not to worry, she would get me in. I promptly received two texts saying I was scheduled...blah, blah. So I started waiting. Two and a half hours later (the gal looked directly at me every once in a while) I finally looked at the two texts again and saw that each had me scheduled at two different facilities other than the Buckeye location I was at. So I went back to the counter, told the gal I was confused. Turns out she was. Who are you, she asked. So we had to start all over. Anway I finally got in, but then they couldn't do the xray because the order was for "the wrong ankle."
I recieved a CTA with contrast. After going through procedure, nurse said the timing of the cat scan machine was off. And did not caputure necessary information. She suggested I go through the procedure a second time. With radiation and contrast risks, I decided not to try it a second time as there was no guarantee the same error would not occur. I heard the same thing happened to another patient a week earlier. I was not charged and I would not recommend SimonMed.
My experience at SimonMed was absolutely terrible. I had an appointment scheduled for 6 AM, but it was changed to 6:30 AM without any prior notification. To make matters worse, the doors were locked until 6:30 AM, leaving me waiting outside. Frustrated, I called the appointment phone number for assistance, but I was disconnected four times. Finally, at 6:30 AM, the doors automatically unlocked. As I entered the office, the receptionist nonchalantly mentioned that they had no control over the doors. I found this response quite dismissive. When I was called in for my MRI, the technician rushed me, saying we needed to hurry and get started. Fed up, I informed him that I had been waiting outside since 6 AM for the doors to open. Their response shocked me as they said they had been there before 6 AM. I was appalled by this lack of empathy. After this experience, I will never go back to SimonMed.
I was not informed that I would be getting my CT Scan results in CD format! I did my examination on 22nd Dec. 2023 and am still trying hard to view the images on it! I live in Europe and am having a very hard time finding "dinosaur computers" that can read the CD...SIGH! People must be fully informed, we have a right since we are paying for such services. My honest suggestion is to get onboard with technology SimonMed! Hope others have better luck.
This review is for Simon Med as a company, Not just the location. My doctor prescribed me two imaging studies, and since my deductible was not met for the end of the year, I decided not to schedule in December and wait till January which was OK with my doctor. However, Simon Med did not stop calling me, texting me for the two 2 weeks preceding my call to have them stop, and I chose a different provider. Their persistence and badgering and calling is ridiculous for medical company. They seem like they are desperate for business, which is never good for medical business. Maybe treating your future patients like adults might bode better for you. I will not be badgered into using you.
I went in for a procedure 7/03/23. The receptionist and billing person were rude and didn't know what they were doing. Overcharged me almost $300. Almost 4 months later and no reimbursement. Have called the billing department 6 times. Rude-can't speak English. I'm so disappointed that SimonMed would take advantage of sick people. Will never go there again.
Been to many of their facilities for different imaging. This time, MRI has been cancelled 3 times (of course after I've driven there!). Today (3rd time) was jabbed by tech 3 times in each arm to get a vein for the injection for the MRI. After unsuccessful, I pulled the plug and left. Will NEVER go to one of their facilities again! (I think today was the "weekend help")
Got there at 6am but got up at4:40.45 degrees outside and paid 3 tolls! Front desk told me they dont do that test and they had called to let me know. She basically said am lying. Tried to show her proof on phone.they Even text to remind me of appt. Front desk person rude! Same thing told to couple in front of me. Put blame on scheduler but scheduler denied getting complaints from them.Told to go elsewhere for that type of test. Called HQ number listed online but none existent. Trsfd to "complaint " dept abd forced to leave message because not present. Highly doubt i will get return call. Tell everyone you know never to use their services
I get a call from SimonMed that I need this appointment so I schedule. When I get to the appointment they say I need the form from the doctor that requested this and the dr office say they faxed it.
I have been sitting here for close to an hour. It's been 45 minutes and she still has not checked my son in. She makes all of her patients stand there while she does absolutely nothing on the computer because what have you been doing besides not checking my son in tech Multiple patients standing here posted here for a very long time. Trying to check in before they would even acknowledge them. They're disrespectful rude always had problems with this place. I don't know why I continue to have to keep coming back here qualifications to work here is if you are an $#*!, you are qualified.
My experience with SimonMed Imaging has not been good in any way. I was scheduled to have an MRI at the Scottsdale location with sedation. I requested that my wife be present up to the point the exam took place. The tech would not let her go with me which in this case further delayed the process as I was going nowhere near that machine before being sedated. I repeatedly asked for my wife to be present and was denied. I requested a restroom break and was taken down several halls and told by the tech she would be right outside waiting. I exited the restroom and there was no one anywhere looking down any hall. I was lost! Finally, I saw a man and told him I was looking for the tech and he helped me find her back in the MRI room! After this big corporation experience of poor communication and insensitive and indifferent staff, I would not return here. The experience only heightened my anxiety and frustration over what should have been an experience conducted by caring individuals. That is not how this experience was handled.
My Doctor has now requested a CT scan so I made the appointment. I select the text link & fill out the forms. Then I receive phone calls that I need to make an appointment! I said I already made the appointment when I received the text request. The representative acted as if I never made an appointment even though it was showing online. Then he said he found the appointment for the wrong test. Now I had filled out all of the forms online already, but he proceeded to ask all of the same questions I already answered. It appears there is a clear lack of communication within this organization. In addition, the phone representative did not listen to what I told him. Clearly English was not his first language but that should not inhibit him from listening to me! I am not impressed with another contact with SimonMed Imaging. I will request options from the Doctor in the future. It feels like we are just a number that adds money to the big corporate bottom line!
Answer: SimonMed is NOT a scam - but it is far from a legit company. They take advantage of customers and hope you don't notice or ask questions.
