I have had my Sears MasterCard now known as Shop Your Way MasterCard since 2013. In all this time I have only recently reported one dispute. I furnished supporting documents, unlike the disputed vendor, and my credit card company chose not to support me. I believe it was just easier for them to process the charge rather than support their card holder. I am very disappointed that the credit card company I have used for 8 years has so little value for me. I regret having to close my account, but I see no reason to stay with this company.
Do not get a credit card from them. I've had so many security issues with the website that it is scary. They have no customer service agents to help. The credit card is through Mastercard and CitiBank. I expected more from these companies and am shocked they've partnered with such an awful, unhelpful and unsure website. If you don't want you credit card info to be in danger, don't get their credit card OR use any other credit card on their website. They just do not care about customers at all. Awful. Frustrating. Infuriating.
Been trying for weeks to reach their Customer Service to cash in my points. Automatically get put on hold with music then after ten minutes get a message "nobody available to take your call, please call back at a later time". Calle at least a dozen times.
I'm wondering if they're still in business. I have about 100,000 points to cash in.
In my first review, I complained that the Shop Your Way program had so many limitations that it was as good as useless. You could only use points on a few useless items on Sears' website.
Today, in addition to those useless items, you can use your points for anything on the website, either sold by Sears or second hand merchants. Best, you can exchange your points for a wide array of gift cards (sorry, Apple is not one of them).
Shop Your Way is a scam run by desperate people. While they advertise you can use your points to buy just about anything, that is far from the truth. You can only use your points on items sold directly by Sears or K Mart, not those sol d by third party sellers. From the items available on Sears and K Mart, an incredible number can't be shipped, are not available in your area, or are not in stock (seemingly permanently). It is very frustrating to go through SYW's "catalogue" knowing that about 90% of items are unavailable. It seems like the only items I can choose are nick-nacks found at yard sales, final sale items and crap that makes me nauseate just looking at.
I have no doubt that a consumer would win a law suit against SYW/Sears in no time.
The best rewards program for saving money, by far, easy to earn points from sears, kmart, or their online partners, FREECASH gives you extra discounts too. I've gotten several thousand dollars in points from them in the last few years. It's legit.
Makes shopping very enjoyable with Sears and Kmart! And the savings are out of this world! I don't know anywhere else that rewards shoppers like this!
I came here to read other reviews of Shop Your Way, simply because I can't figure out how to use it! I'm confused as to where I go to see the dollar amount that my points are worth and how I apply them in the cart? And, a few items say they are eligible for free shipping but then there is a cost for shipping. Much of what I am seeing is not much of a deal anyway. I would like to close my account I think and get a better rewards card. Something more simple. I like cash back or gift cards that you can use in store. This shop your way is definitely not how i want to shop. I'm nervous to put in an order from previous reviews, if I would even get my order shipped!
I usually always go in the store to Sears and never have a problem. I made purchases on shop your way online for Christmas and one of my items was shipped to a different state and when it finally was shipped to me, it was damaged. I realized that the Shop Your Way is now managed only in a third world country and none of their supervisors would contact me back about this issue. And instead of them dealing with this issue they made me discuss refunds with their third-party supplier located in China. Their corporate office number is hidden to the public. I think that if enough consumers banded together a nice lawsuit could be filed against Shop Your Way. I don't care where you do your business but if it is not done correctly there is a problem and this company should be flagged.
I earn 53,000 points on my purchases. I signed up for Shop Your Way to redeem. What a bunch of bull$#*!. I was told I had no points (even though my statement said I do). They pulled up my home address and said my account points are given to my mother because she lives in the same house as I do. What? She has her own credit card that is not linked to mine. Why would they give my points to my mom. There answer to help me was "go home at talk to your mom". Horrible customer service.
It is so annoying that everything I try to buy gets a fraud alert. Doesn't matter if its $25 or $2500. I can't use a credit card that declines me constantly.
I never joined shop your way and I get calls that do not say anything. When I call the number they say thank you for calling shop your way. Well, I never signed up for it! You have to sign up to make any comments on their site which is just all ads for Buy MORE NOW. They are annoying at the very least with no way to contact anyone who can help. I would stay away from them.
I gave them one star due to their horrible customer service, both online through messaging and on the phone via the number on the back. I created a new email account as my old one was full of spam and I want to delete it. I have changed that email over and over, sent complaints over and over only to be told to contact tech support via the number on the card. Tech support says it's fixed, but it never is. I reply to messages sent to the wrong email yelling and cussing in capitol letters to stop using that email! This has gone on for months. I think my only option now is to cancel my online account, then start a new one, just like I had to do a few years ago. What a bunch of inept morons!
We had opened an account several years ago to buy a riding lawnmower from Sears. We paid off the mower and never used the account again. Several years later, someone has hacked that information and put several charges on it in a different state. When we first called, we told customer service we did not recognize the card as being ours. After several calls, we figured out it was this old account from the mower. We have called several times, and wrote a letter indicating these charges were FRAUDULENT but, even though they say they will take care of it, they never do. We continue to get calls and letters for late payment. I am very frustrated with this company in general. DO NOT USE THEM!
I have tried to use this website and its garbage. I have lost more points than I have ever used (which by the way is 0) in this program. The Customer service is outsourced to other countries, which makes thing even worse, because all they know is to read a script. Then they have the nerve to charge you shipping on times they say are "Free Shipping". Either it is or it isn't. If you see it coming toward you, run the other way!
I have almost $150.00 is rewards points. I've been trying to order an item for 6 days using these points. I've tried online and by phone-we have called over a dozen times, and have been transferred probably 30. At this point, no one seems to know why I can't apply a single cent of these points to my purchase.
The point returns seem attractive until you try and use them. First many products on the site are not eligible for points, including some that are or were Sears products! Second almost all items are available on other sites for less money than for other sites. Finally, shipping on some items may be delivered by a service that is so slow that makes the purchasing painful.
The rewards cannot be collected, so the points are worthless & customer svc sucks! Interest is sky high & they refuse to lower it. They don't work with customers during the pandemic, preferring to kick us when we are down. This company is a scam! NO LEGITIMACY!
My 77 yr old Mother has been fighting this company to get 3 unapproved charges cleared for months now. The company submitting the charges (Coast to Coast) is stating her account is cleared with no record on file of her credit card and no future charges will be submitted.
Shop My Way claims they are researching the first 2 charges and will not allow any future charges to post BUT this is a LIE! Just 2 days ago she received a new statement with the same amount from the other lying company!
Since they want to play with their loyal elderly customer, we'll let her attorney handle this from here! See you and the other lying company in court!
I still did not get my new card in the mail and my card expired. I have to pay last month bill but they are constantly calling me harassing me for payment. I just spend all my tax return paying half this card off. Every time I call to discuss when will I get my new card they continue to tell me I have a payment to make and we just send cards out. When i want questions answered they are short with me but they call to harass me about my payment. Before shop your way took over my payments was about a week late and I never received calls from sears. As soon as I pay this credit card off I am going to close my account. I hate customer service.
Unable to use on initial purchase despite having info. -- items removed from cart as soon as put in. Inquired on promotion after received card with no information on it, answering in past tense will not confirm promotion through chat. Told me to call, they won't even confirm when the account was opened. Terrible people, totally unprofessional. They are scamming.
Answer: Yes, it can be used like any other credit card. Just beware that the points you earn will be hard to redeem. This said, CITI, the bank that issues the card, offers (me at least) very valuable cash back incentives to use the card. These incentives are unrelated to Sears or the ShopYourWay catalogue.

Answer: It's a scam in the sense that you can't use your points in the way they advertise. They are very few items in their catalogue you can actually buy. Most are not available for shipping, not available in your area or out of stock. That's a scam!
