On google it says $1 monthly fee, LETS TRY $6.95 a month, Lets get REAL, junk service, junk card! Dont use them!
On May 28th, 2022, I initiated a bill payment from my Serve account to a small cleaning company in FL for a residential cleaning scheduled for the following week. I was aware the payment was being made by check, but the delivery date given was 'By 6/04/2022'. I was hoping for delivery by 6/02, but 6/04 seemed acceptable so I confirmed payment. The payment amount was immediately deducted from my account on 5/28. I notified the company that I had paid the invoice online and delivery would be on or before 6/04/2022. Well 6/4 came and went and no check. I called Serve Customer Service and I was told to wait until Tues, 6/08, for check to arrive. Well, the mail was delivered on 6/08 and they still did not have the time to check. The business said they could not wait any longer and they had concerns about an additional hold on the funds by their bank. I contacted Serve again to advise them the merchant requested alternate payment, but and I was told to call back in 2 days. As requested we made the payment by Cash App and the funds were in their account within seconds. Of course, the payment did arrive the next day. They had already been paid so they mailed the check back to me. I tried to deposit check in my none Serve account by endorsing check with Not used for intended purpose. I thought it was a long shot since I was not the Payee but my name and address was on the check in the usual account name spot on the check. As I anticipated, my bank would not take the check. I contacted Serve again and explained the check was returned to me and in my possession. After 15 min, I was told the check was still 'Processing' in their system so they couldn't return the funds to my account at this time. I said to the person on the phone that this was my money not theirs. I was told to call back in one week. The check is $120 and they have been using my money for free since 5/28/2022 and that just isn't right! I think Serve must be the Amex for poor folks and thus they treat you as SUCH! VERY DISSATISFIED IN VA
I recently purchased and loaded this card at Walmart. No problems with the first few transactions. Then I went to order pizza and the purchase was declined (my error as I entered the wrong zip code) however a hold was still put on the card for the amount of my order, $110.93. I called customer service and was told the hold would be lifted in 5-8 business days which is ridiculous - why is there a hold when invalid information was entered in the first place? The rep also suggested I register the card in case I need to dispute any charges - ok, makes sense. I still need food so I place my order again, this time entering the correct zip code, order goes thru no problem, delivery received, all is fine with the world. I attempt to register my card and am repeatedly denied. Call CS back and was told I must be entering something wrong to which I responded that is doubtful since the information I was registering with is the same information entered on the phone to get my balance and customer service, then she says register from a computer and not a phone, still denied. Days later I check my balance again and the hold and has now POSTED as a completed transaction and AMEX is refusing to review and correct it. This is BS! I have called the merchant and am disputing it with them but it doesn't look promising so for now I'm out $200 for f****** pizza and am just supossed to suck it up? I don't think so! These cards are TRASH and so is American Express as a company. Transactions like this and registration denials are a reoccuring issue with these cards and something needs to be done to shut them tf down. If neither the pizza merchant nor AMEX doesn't correct this asap I will be pursuing legal action.
If you use this POS to get your tax refund be aware they put a withdrawal limit that they refuse to lift I had the worst experience trying to buy my truck two hours from home got half the money they locked my card took almost three hours to get the money then now at 2 am my husband is stranded trying to get money and this son of a $#*! is declining. I held 45 minutes just trying to get a live person to be told there's nothing they can do wait till tomorrow morning and try again
I have owned every prepaid card under the sun and serve is the worst with options for cash withdraws fees are too high customer service sucks and when they do answer good look being able to understand them. You are not even able to use them for Apple Pay. They tell you you can then when you go to buy something it gets declined at every retailer. And they actually my you to have your pay directly deposited too them that's a joke
