Select is a very nice company to deal with. I placed my claim on the telephone and got approval for my claim in 5 business days. The washer was fitted with a new motor and is working like new again. The old one was recycled by the person who came in to do the work.

PLEASE don't use Select Home Warranty! I'm a Platinum customer and my garage door opener broke. They sent out their approved contractor. He says it can't be repaired and recommended to Select to replace for $375. Select offered me only $150! They advertise they'll replace a covered item if it can't be fixed. That's a lie! I've called and called and they hang up on me! Finally a manager calls me and says I'm only going to get $150 and I should go to Home Depot and buy a opener for $150 and install it! Seriously?! SELECT OS A RIP OFF. I'm sorry I signed up with them.

Never use them

In january they sent out a contractor at 10:00 at night in a car full of kids to examine my bathroom leek. The man took my $75 and never came back so now waiting almost a year and getting a run around i cancelled my policy and they charged me another $75. Now $150 later and numerous monthly permiums spent still do not have this fixed. They are the biggest rip offs out there. Did i mention im a disabled scenior on Social security. Shame on them

Service Call

I purchased the warranty June 2019, and just experienced an issue this month May 2020) and renewed to become effective July 11,2020, my claim was denied, I need to report in advance before renewing my policy. I've never experienced anything like this. Therefore, I'm cancelling the warranty in its entirey.

Select warranty is the biggest scam would cover anything. They kept change time frame for covering appliances. Started with 30 days after first start with the company. Then it was 60 day when I protested it was 100 days! Don't waste your time or energy with this crappie warranty company!

Good customer service

This is my second year with select home warranty. Even though I have never filed a claim. So far their customer service is very great. If I get a chance to have to file a claim I'll write a review on the service given.

When we purchased this policy we thought we would have been taking care of. In the heat of summer are A/C unit broke down and we didn't have a way to cool down. We trusted our home warranty who ended up not helping us and scamming us out of our money and we had to come up with $2000 to fix our unit ourselves. Please do your homework like we should have and don't use this company.

They will not pay unless you get their service technician.

My septic line was leaking into my basement. I was in a rush to get it fixed and called several septic service companies. I finally found one that could come in a few hours.

I wasn't thinking of my Select Home Warrantee insurance. Later in the month when I had a different plumbing problem, I remembered I had this type of insurance. I looked and don't remember getting an email policy when I signed up, so I never read the policy. I called to get a copy and make the claims. They denied paying to fix the Septic line problem because I didn't call them first.

Insurance and waiting for their technician wasn't something you think about when your basement is filling with waste water. Pew!

THIEVES

I have been paying them for over a year month after month for Platinum Coverage. When I needed them they were not there. My home air conditioner needed freon. They told the technician he had to wait 48 hours for approval and of approved could come back. How much sense does that make. I paid $225.00. They would not contact me back after 2 emails and a phone call to be reimbursed. They finally told me they do not cover freon. How could that be? If you have Select Home Warranty, cancel as quickly as you can. If you dont have them, dont get them. I surmise they take your money every month... they refuse to pay a claim... any claim... you cancel and they move on. They should be shut down... THIEVES

My tenants were having trouble with the stove not working. I placed the claim and the technician came on time and serviced the stove. It was done efficiently and was not a big deal. I was grateful and did not need to worry about it. My tenants paid the service call fee and deducted from the rent. No problem there either. Good service and no snags. Just great for me!

I submitted a claim for an issue with our garage door opener... not the garage door itself. The warranty DOES cover the opener. I received an email stating my garage door needed to be repaired and is not covered under the warranty. Do they not know how to read a claim for Christ's sake? Now, I'm waiting for another response from a higher department. This is my first claim and must say I'm worried!

Decided to shop around for a new home warranty policy - did a little research and found that Select was listed NUMBER 1 with Consumer Reports. Did my quote online, then actually called too and was given an even better deal! Definitely happy and thrilled to have found them - looking forward to a long relationship!

We filed two claims and never got them taken care of. These people are very irresponsible and in considerate. We paid extra for roof leaks but when we had one and we filed a claim they never took care of it. They sure were quick to take our money when we bought the warranty though. We also filed a claim on our water heater and our claim was rejected. I was so very disappointed with these people. Please do not waste your money with these people.

The rep was very nice but I had to wait almost 2 weeks before someone came out. And I had to keep calling Select just to make sure someone was coming. My hot water went out and the company they referred me to was not compassionate towards that.

Plumbing issue

Customer service very friendly and responsive to getting technician out to access the problem. Unfortunate that first one Daniels pluming came right out and collected his $75 and said he would have to get approval for parts but would only take 15-20 mins to fix problem once he got approval. 3 weeks went by as I called Daniels several times with same answer "I have to speak to Daniel but he is busy on another client call" etc etc. same excuse each time. Finally called Daniels again and was hung up on, called back and went to voicemails and left message. No return call so called Select and customer service apologized profusely and cancelled Daniels and is getting me another technician to come out and fix the problem hope they take Daniels off their approved list. Will be sending reviews on Daniels on Yelp as well next. Select was great. Larry Lucas

I'm the type of person who gets a warranty on everything so I'm very familiar with how this usually works. I have never delete with a company like this. It just seems like a scam. I'll never use this company again. A lot of people are saying this for a reason. I don't even see how they have a rating this high. Stay away!

Furnace problem

Furnace would not run on auto talked to three different people over a ten hour time trying to get service this was on sunday 1/5 finailly the last person told me would have to wait till monday but could get someone my self and be reminburst but contract said have to use there service to be paid did get fixed on 1/7 is all weak end problems handle this way and what if it would have been below 0

USELESS AS TITS ON A BULL

This company is a SCAM. I have tried to use them 3 times and all 3 times they found an excuse not to pay. I have never had one representative that spoke English clearly. Had a plumbing leak and not only they could not find me a contractor, I had to find my own. They claim my plumbing leak was not covered due some obscure clause. Take my advise and stay as far away from these SCAMMERS as possible!

Horrible procedure to file claim. They want the brand, the model #, and the serial before processing the claim. After that, it takes weeks to contract somebody to fix the problem. If the dispatch CAN'T find anybody, they just leave it at that. I have to call back to find out that I have to hire somebody for repair. On top of that, they will find any possible reasons NOT to reimburse your claim.

Basically, you are buying a warranty program THAT is not going to pay you back if anything is broken.
