Disappoint
February 21, 2019

I brought tickets for an event. On row G section 103. They where on waiting for confirmation from the seller.
Then i received a email telling me that the tickets where unavailable and that i was going to get refunded.

I when to my app and check again for the tickets on section 103 row g because it was the last ones. And yes they where available but the seller decide to increase the price. So i paid more just because the sellere decide to change his/her mind on the price.

I do believe that is no fair because if for us is instant payment the seller should do the same with the tickets and should no be able to change their mind. The seller repost the tickets at higher price.

Hi Martha,

Hope you are doing well and that you enjoyed the event!

We give all of our sellers a window to confirm tickets, to make sure they still have the inventory available to be able to fulfill before confirming. In some rare situations, such as this, it looks like they may have rejected the order due to having priced it wrong. That said, I do fully understand the frustration on having the ticket price increase on you.

I will make sure we forward this information on to our team, as we are always looking for ways to improve our platform and make sure the event going experience is top notch.

The whole site is set up trick you into overpurchasing
The whole site is set up to make is as easy as possible to overpurchase, with no confirmation windows or verification.

I attempted to purchase one ticket - the site defaulted to 2. I recognized it the the second I hit pay, but there was no way to cancel - even though I saw it instantaneously, as in before the card was charged.

I then contacted customer service was told I had to agree more service terms and accept the tickets before they would even request a refund. And then, surprise, no refund was possible even though I had reached out to them in less than a minute.

They then offered that I could sell the tickets through them (more fees to them) and offered me a coupon for purchasing through them in the future (not going to happen). So everything about the customer service interaction was an attempt for them to make more money off of me.

I'll never use them again, even if they have the cheapest tickets.

Hey There,

Thanks for reaching out. I want to take the time to address your concerns here.

We do have a confirmation screen. After you select the section you want you are taken to a page that shows the number of tickets and cost. After that screen there is a final confirmation screen that shows the full cost of the order, number of tickets, and all other relevant information. You need to confirm your order on that page.

We do realize you had intended to buy 1 ticket and not 2 as you had selected by mistake. However, our policy is that all sales are final. The reason for this is that we are a secondary ticket marketplace and connect buyers with sellers. So we can't cancel or amend orders as that effects the seller.

If you don't need or want the additional ticket, you can sell it on our or any other secondary ticket marketplace. As we cannot offer a refund our agent was providing a solution. The promo code you were offered is a courtesy and does not expire so if you ever do use our service again it will be there.

Warm Regards,

Bad Tickets
April 26, 2016

I recently purchased tickets for a reds game through there website when I got to the game they told me my tickets were invalid because they sent me tickets for the game the day before I have tried multiple time to get a hold of someone for a refund but I have yet to be given an answer or a refund

Hi Jessica, we're sorry to hear about this and this is the exact experience is what we're working to eliminate. It's why we have very strict agreements with our sellers. It's disappointing to hear that we let you down this time. You mentioned that you reached out to our CX team. I assure you that we'll be having someone contact you ASAP to make this right for you.

It appears that Seatgeek sells tickets it does not confidently have access to sell. Per a service rep "Listings update every few minutes, but sometimes that is not fast enough to keep up with situations where demand is unusually high. A listing might still show as available, even though it was just purchased". Hence, a technology limitation (and/or cost choice by seatgeek) results in a subset of purchasers being notified several minutes later (if they check their e-mail), that the purchase could not be completed and the $$ will be refunded. This happened to me twice today - the second attempt was via a seatgeek rep sending me a link to buy the tickets!

The above pain point is only part of the problem. Seatgeek will do nothing to get you comparable tickets for the same event. There is zero attempt to resolve. Tickets went up in price, too bad, you are getting your money back, try again. Given the significant seatgeek fee charged per ticket, they can easily resolve these situations but appear to choose not to

Seatgeek is no longer a little company. They manage their technology choices as well as the rules of their marketplace. Choices matter. Very disappointing

This was the first time I could not print the tickets I purchased. First the website said I would need to download the Seatgeek app to get my tickets. Then I received an email I thought was spam that said I would have to download the MLB app to get my tickets. I needed to contact your customer service to make sure I was doing it right. It was VERY confusing.

Hi Phyllis, thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review, and we do apologize for the confusion regarding this ticket transfer! Ideally, all mobile tickets can be delivered directly through the SeatGeek platform, but we're doing our best to accommodate MLB fans this season as more teams switch to mobile transfers. We're also continuously working to push as much information out proactively as possible so the users affected by these third-party ticket transfers are aware that they're coming prior to delivery. We always appreciate user feedback--it's what helps us provide the features that everyone wants the most! Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns about this order or just in general. Thank you again!

Purchased tickets for 10-16-2016 Gwen Stefani concert at the Forum in LA and was told tickets from Seatgeek were invalid. Went to the box office and was told my seats were sold twice and this happens all the time. I had to buy an additional set of tickets to get in, so wrong! I also tried calling for help and was told I had to go directly to scorebig for help with double sold tickets. I called the 800 number for help for scorebig *******324. The recording on the voicemail states they don't help with invalid tickets.

Seatgeek scam update
February 17, 2024
Updated review

Still fighting with seatgeeks over not providing tickets that I paid for two months before the event. They are getting frustrated because I won't close out my BBB complaint, read the BBB seatgeek reviews. They are rated F and it's obvious they are a unethical company. The Massachusetts atty general is investigating and they advised me to file with the NY AG as they are based in NYC. Still waiting before I get a lawyer. Don't even think about using this company!

Bought tickets to a Georgia bulldogs football gave in Athens for a disabled veteran on Veterans Day. Tickets were confirmed but never delivered. Called a few times but was told I would get the tickets 24 hours before the game. Stated working with customer service at 9 am for a 7pm game. Was assured that I would have my tickets or similar tickets before game time. We had traveled from Boston so it was stressful especially as it got closer. Got to Sanford Stadium, still getting jerked around. Fifteen minutes before game time I was told they dropped the ball on my tickets and there were no tickets. They knew about my disabled friend's situation and told me they could care less about veterans or the fact that he was an amputee. Seat geeks is an unreliable uncaring incompetent company. They are also liars and con men. Needless to say my friend's Veterans Day and our trip down from boston was a complete disaster. Do not use this company under any circumstances. I've contacted a lawyer and hope to hold these horrible people responsible.
Go on the BBB better business bureau for an accurate rating. The bbb gave seatgeeks an F and seatgeeks is not accredited. Read the customer reviews on the BBB site. It will confirm they are a scam company.

Bought a trip and tix to The Chicks in Nashville for my wife. The show cancelled and now I can't find a phone number to call and the only option they give is to return the tickets for a credit. That what they can resell them and get 2x the money. What a ripoff. I didn't get the show. You resell the tickets at the rescheduled date and give me a refund please.

I will never use this again
August 7, 2017

I DID Read the fine print on my ticket // paid over 500 for a pair to see Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott. They would not let me in with the e ticket // made me go find a printer and print it out. Hence I missed the entire Travis Scott set (of the two I was more excited for him).

Unexpected Lengthy Process
April 1, 2020

I've used seat geek numerous times to purchase tickets and numerous times for the Sounders specifically and this was the most cumbersome and lengthy process to get to my actual tickets. I've always been able to get my tickets immediately in the seat geek app but when I bought tickets Sunday, I had to check my email numerous times to see if the order was processing, accepted, then confirmed, then a couple more before I finally got an email for my tickets. And they weren't able to be sent to the app. I was pretty disappointed in the service this weekend and hope that isn't the new standard for purchasing tickets through seat geek.

Hi there,

Apologies for any confusion with the mobile transfer process! This not the only process to which you can get tickets to games. When you're buying on SeatGeek, kindly click the tickets you're interested in and then scroll down before clicking checkout. If you see 'XFER', then this means they're mobile transfer. However, mobile transfer tickets are becoming more and more the safest way to receive tickets across the board.

I hope this help! Thanks for being a valued customer, and please feel free to reach out to us at hi@seatgeek.com if you have any questions.

Stay safe!

Held my breath!
September 26, 2017

The reason I rated u guys like this was that I originally bought tickets that were advertised. Come to find out that my order was rejected because the tickets were longer available. On my second order, it said that my tickets were not going to be ready until 1 hr. Well I was nervous because the game was in an hour. I didnt know if I should drive and be left without tickets or wait and be late. I was worried that I probably wasnt going to get my tickets on time and also worried that I was not going to make the game. I did however get my tickets and was late cuz I waited prior to driving down to the stadium

I attempted to purchase tickets for Remembering Pavarotti at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. They were $220 each and I got four tickets. I couldn't find the confirmation email since it was sent under the name of UberSeats. When I finally found the email and opened it, the tickets were for the wrong event, wrong day, wrong time and the tickets they sent me were for an event that had taken place earlier that evening. They will not refund my credit card for the $880 charge for the wrong tickets that were never used.

I was extremely skeptical of SeatGeek along with the Reseller Ticket Network Direct or TNDirect (including another subsidiary called Ticket Galaxy).

I was wrong-- the service was amazing. I ordered 2 VIP tickets for a show, and Ticket Galaxy was all over it. They reached out to the venue to setup the Will Call without problems.

I did run into an issue where our parking pass was not included at Will Call, however Ticket Galaxy immediately provided a refund for the cost of the parking.

I will absolutely use SeatGeek and TNDirect again in the future.

Seat Geek Sucks
May 26, 2017

Seat Geek is the worst company in the history of commerce. I bought my tickets the day before the game and didn't find out until 10 minutes before opening pitch that the tickets weren't available. The lady on customer support then proceeded to tell me that Seat Geek wasn't responsible for the tickets that I bought. If they aren't responsible, then why did I pay Seat Geek for my tickets? I was very nice on the phone and customer support somehow managed to hang up on me 3 times. I will never buy from Seat Geek again they are a horrible company. Never buy tickets from this company if you want to be able to get into the game.

Hi Ross, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and it's definitely something we want to follow up on. For some context, any orders submitted prior to 24 hours before the start time of an event have a 24 hour pending period in which the seller is required to check their inventory and either confirm or reject an order. In the event they're unable to confirm the order, they're required to reject it.

However, it's incredibly unusual that a seller would reject an order within 10 minutes of the start time of the event. For that reason, we'd definitely like to make sure to follow-up directly about this issue to ensure it was handled correctly both by SeatGeek and the seller. If you could send an email to hi@seatgeek.com with the subject line "Attn: SJ - [Order Number]" we can ensure this gets investigated for you.

We look forward to hearing from you so we can do whatever we can to help!

Misleading Tickets
November 6, 2021

I spent initially $7,000 for World Series tickets on the only day that five family members could attend together. SeekGeek's website advertised Game 3 tickets for sale. So I bought them. BUT I sadly found out they mislead me, and probably many others, by selling tickets that DO NOT REPRESENT the tickets I bought. These tickets were for the 3rd home game which is actually World Series game 5. Nobody in sports calls World Series Game 3 the bizarre name of Home Game 1. I spend several hours on the phone waiting to discuss how I was given Game 5 tickets instead of the Game 3 tickets I bought. They essentially told me it was my fault for not knowing the way they sell tickets. They lied to me and ruined an opportunity to see a World Series game. I will never buy anything from SeatGeek again and I highly encourage you to go elsewhere for tickets. SeatGeek lies and misleads.
