Lies, lies and more lies!

I have been waiting over 4 MONTHS for my refrigerator to be repaired. Each time I call, the service representatives will tell me that my case "has been escalated " and I will get a call back in three to five business days. No one ever calls. The service technician had ordered a part over three months ago. According to the Sears website, the mart is no longer being made and there are no substitutes. They advertise that if they can't fix it, they'll replace it. They lie. You can't even write a review on their website. It's all lies.

Out of 3 technicians, neither was able to repair a simple washer. They lacked diagnostic skills and they pride themselves on wasting your time. The company is simple a circus show.

Worse company ever
July 8, 2023

This company is a joke. The technician I had in my house was so impolite and unprofessional, not to mention incompetent, he made wrong cables connection in the AC station. It took a week to get an appointment to fix the AC. The technician make it work and leave the house. 30 minutes later it is not working anymore. I contact the services so he can come back, they confirm he'll come back during the day and he never shows up. When I call them back to have news they says the technician couldn't come and I'll have to reschedule another visit, which I will never do with them. Run! I've dealt with bad services companies, but this is from far the worse one.

Worst service ever

I do have a home warranty and they were using sears home services for their repairs. We contact with them and they scheduled their technician he come on Tuesday and he checked AC unit and he said we need to other the part then he told me he will come back with the part on Friday to repair. Guess what happen nobody showed up on Friday. I called them afternoon hours on Friday they told me we order the part for your house and whenever you have part for repair then call us back we will schedule technician for repair. Today is following Thursday and no part arrived. I called them and I ask them do you know when I will recurve this part they said you will receive, I asked same question again and same answer. I asked them can you give me tracking number then I can check they said we don it have it :)) I asked them so can I speak with some one about this he said I am the person and you are taking now I asked him can I have technician number and he said we can share it.
So far nobody wants to respond and almost 90 degrees here and we are burning in the house
Thank you for great service and I hope you guys not stay in the business long time
We do not need customer service like you guys providing
Please stay away (also they are using overseas customer service and you need to learn another language to talk with them)

We called Sears Home Services to have our clothes washer repaired. The Technician, Johnathan, did keep us apprised of his schedule and arrival time. He arrived right at 3:30 pm and was finished a few minutes after 4:00 pm. The area was left clean and we was pleasant and professional.
Our concerns were the charges. He replaced the door switch, which was the issue. That charge was $ 53.22, which was in line and reasonable. He also volunteered to clean the dryer and then charged us $50.00 for the "dryer cleaning". The total labor charges were $ 329.00 for what was approximately 35 minutes of work. The total bill was $ 432.22.
We would have been better off buying a new clothes washer. The labor charges were completely out of line unless Sears labor charges are around $550.00 per hour. That would have been nice to know BEFORE we engaged their services. We would never call Sears Home Services ever again.

If you plane on using them for a insurance claim run as fast as you can. You will not get any paper work from tec`s as they don`t do them. And there support is the worst i have ever seen. In short they cost me over 3k loss for ins claim..

Just awful scam

Sears appliance repair tried to scam me.

This below constitutes a letter to the "technician" who is in on the bait and switch scam with Sears Appliance Repair.

You were five hours late! I waited from 10:00 am. As I received a text he would be there at 10:30 am (For an 8-12) he didn't make the 10:30 am. The ETA estimate kept changing (and i have the texts to prove it) up to 1:49 pm and he finally showed up at around 2:30 PM. His messages kept stringing me along —

So here's the scoop. The washer is working perfectly yes after I fixed it with Wd-40 (see video and photos) on what I knew already was the issue: the top loading washing machine door lid mechanism -/ you're misrepresenting repairs to consumers, in my case to the tune of over $400 — this was a simple lid lock issue which I corrected with W-40 -/ you did nothing except tell me the repair cost was over $400 plus and then try strong arm me into accepting — through a Sears phone lying representative — this "discounted" home service agreement under false pretenses this "home service agreement" which costs $700 a year— so how can you expect anyone to believe you after waiting for you to show up stringing me along for five hours seriously how can you expect anyone to believe that you're not going to abuse them with this home service agreement? You showed up five hours late late just to scam me -/ you're preying on the ignorant and the elderly, I'm sure, and I'll report you to the State Attorney General and consumer affairs. You CANNOT DO THIS. I want my extorted $50.00 after having me wait five hours so you could scam me with many responsibilities to attend to which is just awful — to try and scam me after waiting five hours for you to show up for a service that Sears subcontracts —DISGUSTING.

Incompetent and rude technicians. First one did not find the problem and gave me a wrong answer. Second one called me three times telling me he is coming within 30 minutes, and did not come after he heard that the first one did not find the problem. What kind of technician is affilated with this company? And is this company using the Sears name just to cheat?

We have had nothing but trouble with Sears home service and warranty program...the last time i called an About the dishwasher. They gave me the run around and told me they had no one to fix my problem. Then said I should get a local repair person to repair my dishwasher and they would reimburse me up to $350. I was skeptical if I would get my money back so told them I didn't want that option. They said that they would call me back with an appointment within 72 hours I never heard from them. So we went to Best Buy and purchased a new dishwasher even though I still have 3 months left on my warranty. Never again will we use Sears home services.

What a scam beware

Call them for a repair on treadmill. Tech was great but when they found out they could not get the parts the district manager Tracy told him to charge me the fee that should have gone towards the repair because they could not fix it even though the site clearly states the fee is charged when you refuse the repair which I did not. I told them it was not my fault they advertised a treadmill they could not get parts for and that I was not paying the fee as their site clearly stated it was charged if you refused the service which I did not. The tech even told me where to get the parts and the part numbers and was ready to book a return appointment to put them in until he was told he could not do it by the district manager who then became very rude. BEWARE!

Freezer failed, called for repair. Technician said couldn't repair freezer and tried to get me to sign a bunch of things without showing me what they said. He tried charging me $577. That was one of the phone forms that he wanted me to sign without letting me read it. I ended up yelling at him and finally he let me see what he wanted me to sign which was authorizing a $577 charge. I told him I would only pay the $99 that was part of the contract. He then tried charging me $120 and I refused. This is just the tip of the iceberg. He tried to walk through my house, I would not let him. It was very creepy. I ended up telling him to leave. There is no one I can talk to. Nobody answers any of the phone numbers.

Awful experience

The repair person was nice and professional. I needed a written estimate of the repair so I called the 1800 number. Spoke with someone who assured me I would get what I needed which I did not. Called back and was told they would not give me a written estimate as was their policy. I of course wanted to know what
Had changed since the last phone call. I was frustrated and said it was their responsibility to give me a written estimate that was by the way between 500 to 800 so the estimate was refused for the repair. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was disconnected. I tried to call back and my number has been blocked. Soooo I guess there is no appeal if you are dissatisfied. Always check to see if they will put their estimate in writing before the come to your house.would have given them a zero iif possible

My repair appointment was for Mon. 5/22. Sears canceled that day@ 10:30 a.m. I had taken a day off work to deal with the repair issue. I rescheduled for today & specified that I would not be able to have the repair after 1:00. I said this 3 times. I just received a call from the repair tech at 2:18 p.m., 10 mins ago, saying he's on his way to my home. I am NOT at home, as I stated I would not be. This situation is absolutely unacceptable! I canceled the appointment & will never use Sears again. I will also advise anyone else I know (& those on social media) how unreliable & inconsiderate the company is. Disgusting customer service! I would leave zero stars if it was possible.

I had an appt may 19 from 7am to 4pm. I checked system for an update at 4pm there was 1 house ahead. 455pm text message they cancelled and rescheduled. No respect to talk with me or apology. Spent my entire day wasted on an unprofessional service. Never would I choose this company.

I have a Kenmore Elite bottom freezer. It's 5 years old and the compressor has gone out. I researched and found out the compressor has a 10 year warranty but you have to use their Service Technicians and have to pay for the labor. They then tell you there are also other parts involved that you have to pay for and you have to have a cleaning service performed. This compressor that is free is now costing me $686.83. The technician left and said to give it 24 hours to get cold. After 8 hours the freezer that was just not performing up to it's full capacity totally defrosted and everything went bad. Called customer service the next day and could never get a person but finally after hours got another technician scheduled to come out the next day. He diagnosed that because they had replace the compressor now the evaporator needed to be replaced and it had to be ordered. So FOR $686.83 AND $125.00 which was the cost of a none Kenmore/Sears technician who originally diagnosed it I have a NON Working Refrigerator worst than when they started and they can't get the part for 5 days or so. What an outfit, rip off, and even the techs admit that they are made with parts (compressor's) that go out within 2-5 years. I know have coolers and ice keeping my essentials cold waiting for this part. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Oh and the first technician burnt my floor when welding in the new compressor...
And good look trying to EVER talk to a person. They put you through the automated system and it's almost impossible to talk to a person.
This is the very WORST treatment by a company that I have yet to experience!
Never will I EVER buy a Kenmore again. Hope you don't either. The technician recommended WHIRLPOOL!

Two canceled service appointments by text msg. With a ridiculous policy of waiting for service to show up between 8a and 5p. One cancelation came at 230p in the afternoon on Friday rescheduling on Monday, like people can take time off to wait around for service. Part arrived on previous Monday and a week later still shows in transit. Will not use again!

Had our Craftsman garden tractor serviced/tuned up, but the cost was excessive for the
Routine maintenance performed. And, there's an enormous amount of "trust" placed in
The technician since you're unable to determine what is actually being done. So, new
Spark plug, fuel filter (?), oil filter and 20 ounces of oil and tech claims the front end was
Greased. Total parts cost, with tax, was$57.58; however, the total bill was $310.34. In addition
To the labor cost there as an "add on" expense called "clean & maintain" for ANOTHER $69.50...
Thought that was what the labor total of $183.26 was for?! And, the tech was here for all of
Maybe 45 minutes! Oh, and the tech claims we didn't need an air filter and the he had cleaned the one in the tractor... that was false. I checked the air filter afterwards and it had never been touched, so I cleaned it up then went on-line and ordered a new one through Amazon. This will absolutely be our last call to Sears Home Services. Be careful out there... it's all a scam game about money. Shameful... at one point many years ago, Sears was an honorable company, but things have gone far South of that point in today's world. Good Luck America!
