Unbearable Company

Seamless/Grubhub is just a waste of precious time. Have been ordering for many, many years but realize that customers are left alone with any problems, no help. Phones are always busy so you cannot lodge a complaint. They don't hesitate to charge the credit card. After many months ordering from your favorite restaurant suddenly the same restaurant is out of range. They love adding unnecessary fees but the service is deplorable. Wondering, is there any way to communicate with these food ghosts!

Superior to Grubhub

It's 10:00 am on a Friday, and this is the number of restaurants I found available for delivery to my friend's address in NYC at this moment
Seamlessweb: 308
Grubhub: 261

Seamless web's UI is much more useful.
I'm very big on reviews (obviously so are you if you are reading this.) Seamless web allows me to sort by stars and see how many reviews the restaurant has, a feature Grubhub does not have.
Grubhub does has yelp reviews as well as its own reviews, but what's the point if it doesn't link to yelp when you click on it?

Also when I go to the menu, the smaller font on seamless web makes me feel like I'm looking at a real menu, which is good.

Grubhub has the menu on the right bar with other restaurants still listed on the left bar. Why would you have take up valuable screen real estate when I've already chosen a restaurant? Also, because of the huge font, you have to scroll twice as many screens to see the whole menu, which is quite annoying.

Another advantage Seamlessweb has over grubhub is the most 'liked' and most 'popular' item boxes on the right, which is very useful when you are exploring new places to order from. I wish yelp would actually have a menu and the same kind of feature so i know what dishes to order when I eat in at a new restaurant!

Overall, seamless web the better site to order delivery from. There's a reason why all big banks use seamless web to feed their overworked geniuses.

Why pay more?

Seamlessweb's prices are higher than delivery.com and EAT24 for the same items from the same restaurants. Their prices are higher than those printed on the restaurant's menus.

Beware of buying deal-a-day vouchers for Seamless - make sure they actually have restaurants in your area. They indicated they had a lot of restaurants for delivery near me. I thought it is a great concept and bought the voucher. I live a stone's throw from the largest airport in the country and there are literally hundreds of restaurants within a mile of me. Yet every time I tried to use the voucher, there were either none available or one that I didn't want to use.

They kept promising more restaurants but the voucher expired. I contacted them and they said I have to order something and then they will credit back the cost of my voucher (not the promotional value). I spent a better part of an hour driving to one (none would deliver), submitted my receipt as requested and they reimbursed me for 20% less than I paid.

I tried contacting them but have tired of trying to explain the situation over and over. They can keep the money; I won't use them again.

This is a review on grubhub vs seamlessweb

Grubhub's design looks prettier, but I feel like seamlessweb's UI is much more useful.

This website is horrendously bad. It's like they don't want you to use it. It caused my browser (Google Chrome) to crash EVERY time I tried to submit a transaction. I once registered for an account and forgot the password (like every one of the 10 million account I have on the interwebs) and their password recovery system was impossible to break through. Truly a terrible user experience, for an incredibly simple concept. Try campusfood.com or any of the other million online food ordering services, it doesn't get any worse than this $#*!hole.

This site is OK if you just want to order food.
But beware of all the coupons they send you - they often to not work. I was just out $60 today (and this is after wasting one hour trying to get the coupon code to work) because of a non-working coupon. When I emailed customer service, all I had was something to the effect of sorry we cannot do anything and I have forward your feedback to the marketing department.

Seems cool, haven't actually tried it... - so, i read about this website and checked it out. I know they have other sites like this too, like waiters on call, but they tell you to expect a delivery time of over an hour. So pretty much you have to order when you're not even hungry yet. And then the delivery charge just makes it so expensive, it's not worth it.

This seems cool cause it gives you an estimate delivery time, which all seem pretty reasonable, and it looks like you're just ordering from the restaurant but online, so there might not be an additional upcharge for delivery. Plus, you can pay online with a credit card, so they just drop your food and go. And finally, the user interface seems much better than that for waiters on wheels or waiter.com. I'll try to update this review if/when i use it.
