My fault for not seeing this monthly charge but they are thief's! Signed up and canceled the same day and they continue to charge me. I cant get in touch with them for a refund and they dont reply to any messages. STAY WAY!
Reported as fraud to my credit card company.

I emailed scribed 3 times for the wrong charge issue and every time they sent an email saying that someone will contact me within one business day. I am still waiting for that one business days even after 3 reminders and 28 days but they do not care about you. Worst customer support! Actually no customer support at all. My ticket is open but no one is doing anything about that.

I got charged even after requesting a refund and canceling my service.

I don't mind paying but you guy's don't have the books I want and I want a refund having never used my subscription.

Please help :( It seems like everyone is going to blame you guy's if you don't respond sooner.

I used Scribd for a few months, then cancelled my membership after it was no longer needed. It's been two months since I cancelled and they charged my card yesterday. I logged into my account and it says my membership expired last month. Stay away from this company, as they will charge you after you have cancelled!

... and they do not want to credit back... scammers...I complained and they said I did not cancel, so I had to block my card, to make sure they do not withdraw again.

I unsunscribed to Scribd but still membership money was deducted from my account. So I deleted the account but still the money keeps on deducting every single month. A very cheap malpractice done by Scribd. I have contacted the support and got support ticket #*******. But still no action have been performed yet. As an attorney I will be taking serious action against this SCAM by Scribd. And I will make sure to include each person had suffered losses by this SCAM.

Not unlimited books

I use to love Scribd! I could download as many books that I wanted. I felt like it was like Netflix only with books, but now it's telling me how many books I can download. If I am paying $8.99 a month I should be able to have unlimited access. I am going back to Kindle Unlimited and pay the extra $1.00

Didn't like the app to begin with. Cancelled. And these $#*! faces have charged me for three months. You can't talk to anyone to help you even if you liked the program, let alone if you need something. Dislike scribd with a passion.

They tell you unlimited but not all books. After 2 or3 books I am limited till a particular date for favorite books or others. There are a list but very limited during this time. I feel it is not worth it if you listen to more titles per month. They say you can cancel auto renewal but only if you end the current subscription.

I am very unhappy with the lack of response when I wrote about unauthorised charges. I have cancelled my membership 3 months ago and am still being charged! After multiple emails, they have still not responded! They do not have a number to call. I need a refund!

It is a SCAM
September 5, 2019

I subscribed for a free trial and did not use it at all. After 2 weeks of not using it I wanted to cancel my subscription. On my account it tells me I do not have any subscription and no credit card on file, so I couldn't cancel it. I was getting charged every month. Finally, I contacted technical support and got an answer to delete the account. I followed provided steps, deleted account, but they are continuing charging me. Looks like I will need to contact my credit card company. I can not deal with it anymore.

This is a terrible company, they steal your money and they continue to charger you even after you have cancelled the subscription. I have attempted cancelling my credit card, canceling my subscription through apple and the scribd website, I've called my back to get the charges blocked and they still some how manage to charge me. No matter what I do I get charged for a membership that I get no use out of. It says that I have no active subscriptions with their company and YET I'm still being charged. It's criminal and it is unacceptable. Also they won't return your attempts to contact them.

Update: a while ago I posted a review, I tried to set up a one-month account but it was set up as a yearly account that charged me monthly, then I couldn't delete my account.

Well, I contacted their support email line, my account was cancelled, the extra charges refunded, and I haven't been charged again.

So either their support team is suspiciously good for the shady as $#*! site, or I got the one decent support member whose kindness is about to be beaten out of them by that overgrown condom failure of a website.

I registered for a trial, and forgot to cancel the membership. I was fine at that time for the fact that they charged me five months, because I forgot to cancel the membership. I asked them to cancel my membership immediately and it was cancelled. I thought everything should be fine. HOWEVER, after a year I found out they are still charging me money EVERY MONTH. I sent email to them and they said they can't find the purchase and there's nothing they can do about it. Now they don't reply my email anymore. They just disappeared. I can't imagine how many customers are being cheated by them right now because they don't check their credit card item one by one. I've already had an attorney on board on this. This is a total crime.

This app has the worst customer support ever, they suddenly stopped accepting my payment method for no obvious reason, I contacted them and they were very slow, and they didn't even try to help, simply saying that they don't accept it anymore, i asked them to delete the old account, and i got a gift card from a friend and created a new account to use it, they deleted my account without notifying and i lost my gift card

Fraudulent

O stars is not an option as that would be my review. My credit card has been charged repeatedly from this company. They have no way to get in touch with anyone. My bank is investigating this poorly managed business. I wouldn't advise anyone to do business with, or supply credit card information to this company at all. The company is rife with fraud. The very owners may be scammers as well. Protect your information from these thieves.

I've pressed cancelled, gave a feedback. Somehow you guys are that sneaky to put VERY SMALL texts on the bottom of the page to actually cancel my subscription.
How do you feel after taking hundreds of dollars from a 16 year old girl? You feel proud?

This is fraud!

Hello,

I have a problem with my account. Ive made an account on Scribd.com on 17 of March 2013 and I closed it in a month. However, you still take my money from my account even in 2016! I have checked my credit card and I really have a problem when I see that, monthly, you took 9 euro from me, even if my account is closed.

Please contact me as soon as possible, regarding the invoices. I need you guarantee that the amount will be refunded to my credit card ( from April 2013 to August 2016). This is fraud.
Please take this e-mail like an official notification and let me know when my money will be back on me.

I don't even know where to begin this, never had such issue before, this must be a new scam they are pulling, i cancelled their service 3 months ago, all of sudden, I saw another charge went through, I contacted them, and they claimed the subscription was under another email address which I had no idea about, they asked for verification, which including providing them with my credit card info, and I provided, a week passed nothing, I contacted them several times, it seems just doesn't matter to them.
Worse thing about this is you can't even explain this to your bank, because it is subscription, I did agree to subscribe them before, but i cancelled, so bank does not treat this as fraud, and they kept asking me to work it out with scribd, but how i can work out with a ghost.

Scribed has been charging my account for 2 months. I reached out to them and after several back and forth emails they agreed to refund ONLY 1 month. I never, ever signed up for their service. I never used their service. They are a terrible!
