I needed a reef light. I saw on a promotional where they were giving $100 in livestock for 99 cents contingent on purchasing $139. Perfect I thought! I can get a light and a ton of fish at the same time! So I ordered. I got a notification saying my fish (singular) shipped. Hm, ok. I got really excited an watched as the shipment got closer and closer, until 7:33 in the morning. It stopped in ATL and i live about 30 minutes away. So I waited, and waited and still no delivery. 4:00 rolls around and I finally get my fish. Dead. UGH! I file a report and they quickly got my money back (the only redeeming quality). I called them about the light, and they put it through. You should have done that earlier, but whatever. They also tell me the order should have included "marine life" and that the $140 light I bought doesnt count towards that because it wasn't livestock. This was my first time buying saltwater fish online and I will not be returning.
I have made 2 large orders, and both times HALF of the livestock died. I have a 2 year established 300gal reef tank, so it is most definitely not my tank/water/etc, but rather, the poor quality of the items being shipped. Based on the items dying, I have accumulated a bunch of store credit. The issue here is, I cannot use said credit, because in order to do so, and avoid the packaging and shipping "charges" of ~$40, you have to place a minimum order of 100+, to even use the credit, so there is no discount anywhere. This place is an online ripoff and I hope nobody else faces the issues I have. I even confronted "Mary" on the phone about this and asked her to waive the system error, to which she replied, "no" - a clear indication that they prefer new $$ coming in, because the items they sell are so cheap, in the long run, they will come out ahead.
2 issues within 2 days of dealing with this company. First they didnt want to honor the freebie I chose and had me choose a different one even though said freebie was still advertised. Second I had 1 shrimp doa a $6 shrimp and they didnt want to honor the replacement. Its live aquaria for me from now on. Also they have been reporting reviews to raise their ratings on other sites.
They send whatever they want size wise. They send me a replacement fish and it was not bigger than 1", the previous one it was more than 4-5 inches, but arrived doa
I ordered a tank raised pinnatus batfish. I received it late in the afternoon and it didn't look well. I figured it might come around after I started slow acclimation. The fish died fours hour later. I contacted them to ask for either a credit or a replacement fish, but they refused. They told me I could get a courtesy $15 credit if I sent them a picture of my tank. A very expensive lesson to learn.
Do not buy from Saltwaterfish.com. They only credit back to your credit card if a specimen dies within 5hours of arrival. Otherwise you get a store credit so you will be stuck with that. Will never buy from them again!
Made my biggest order ever online, I never received the package and they said they would refund to my bank. A week later they said they could only give me store credit. I do not want to make another order I just wanted my money back. FRAUD SCAMMERS
I bought 3 items water was at 68 degrees one fish made it alive and was not the item I ordered called and left messages sent pics and emails as they want for refunds no refunds or response I will never buy from again horrible experience Live Aquaria is most definitely way way better can't believe the way they treat their customers
I have a 200 gallon proclear rimless tank it was established all water perimeters were perfect had the tank cycling for 6 months before ordering over 30 saltwater fish from them some dead on arrival but now I have two left and they don't look like they are gonna live much longer. We all need to open a class action suit against them for shipping out sick fish and now I'm being told I have break down the tank and bleach everything killing all my corals anemones leathers because it looks like they all had uronema from one of there chromis damsels and i was told if I add any other fish they will be infected as well. And they want pictures of the dead fish as they were dying in my tank I couldn't get pictures of most of them because I have over 300 pounds of live rock hermits and Snails. They send us sick diseased fish they die and disappear in our tanks they do owe me a122.00 dollar credit but I spent about 600.00. Im never never getting fish from them again.Everyone beware they are scammers and aren't selling disease free fish I just feel bad for the people who loose their fish that the newly ordered fish killed.I had a bunch of pics because they are anal about you sending in pics of the dead fish on a white back ground but I deleted them all who keeps dead fish pics on their phone im using my credit for them now but not for fish just corals but they are gonna bang me for the 29.00 plus 15.00 shipping boxing fee
I placed in order a week ago, was sent an email saying that the fish i ordered (an orbic and tiera batfish) didn't pass inspection to be shipped so I asked for a refund of my money. It's been 4 days and I'm still fighting to get my money recredited to my card. I would just cut my losses and say screw the site but it was a 115 dollar order so I'm going to keep fighting.
Bought 4 aquarium supply items. Received box with 3 of 4 items, no indication in box or through email of a 2nd shipment. Packing slip in box only listed 2 of the 4 items ordered and in the box? Called right away to report missing item. Tristan took my call and claimed management would have to handle my problem. I should receive a call Monday. Never received a call or email. Called back Monday, talked to Tristain again, was told management sent a message to the shipping department to find out what happened with my missing item. Tristan was very nice and apologized for the lack of a return call... but by the end of the week I still have not received a call or email from this company. I paid for an item I never received and they can't even have the courtesy to return my call! I feel ripped off and will never do business with then again.
I know when Fed Ex sent me a delay notice there would be dead fish! Why dont they put a big floresent orange sticker on the package saying LIVE FISH, so Fed Ex knows. Received a dead fish and they refund the price of the fish, insted of sending a replacement! Now its going to cost me another $40 on top of the price of the fish! Spend days trying to get someone on the phone, piss poor customer service!
Period! Do not do business with these people as they advertise all kinds of specials if you spend enough money and then do not back up their guarantees when your livestock arrives dead
This website is terrible. I ordered 20 fish(in two separate orders) and in a few months only 2 are left. Very disappointing because I am only 15 and dont have a way to get that many fish. I saved up for this and it was a HUGE WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY.
I ordered from this company twice on two different occasions. Both times, my orders arrived the majority of the fish arrived dead. The others lived a couple days and died. I've never been able to get any fish ordered from Saltwaterfish.com to live. I have been keep saltwater fish for more than twenty years and have several fish in my tank currently, I've had for more than 15 years. In a nutshell, it's not my tank, it's the quality of fish and their process of preparing/shipping. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!
I purchased a Choati Wrasse from this site and it arrived in a cold bag dead. I reported it to the site right away with photos as they stated well within the 5 hour window to receive a refund. I didnt get a response until the next day and they issued a stone credit. I wanted a refund but I took the credit. I ordered a 4 Blue Spot Jawfish and a 2.5-3.25 Barred Goby with the credit. The order arrived and the Jawfish looked great but the Goby was very small about 1-3/4 inch at the most. I emailed them to explain I had a 125 gallon tank and this sized Goby would not be enough to sift the sand in a tank this large. The ignored my email and after sending 5 more I fiannly got an answer. They said Please take a photo of the fish next to a ruler and we will verify. I was like how am I supposed to catch a 1-3/4 inch Goby in a stocked 125 gallon tank? They ignored me again. Im not going to fight with these people over $20 but they wont get anymore of my money.
So I got a Lawnmower blenny, cleaner shrimp, watchman goby and a pistol shrimp. Lawnmower blenny arrived super skinny, cleaner shrimp arrived dead, and the watchman goby was like 2 cm long. The pistol shrimp is the only one that hasnt either dissapeared or died. All my other fish are doing great that I didnt buy from this horrible website. Never doing this place again. I trust petco more than saltwaterfish.com
Whole order was dead on arrival! Bought two polyps, one dragonet and a orange bubble, did everything, turned in doa request just as told, and they still didnt honor guarantee and refund my money, mary the owner told me the bubble was still alive, i know the diffrence between a dead anemone and a live one, i have several of them, the 2 polys werent even attached to the plug, they musta broke off during shipping i dont know, and the fish were dead with slime all over it,
Buyer BEWARE! Nothing but lying thieving bastards! Gave me a coral for $200 that wasn't symbiotic with the coral that it was attached to... after 1 month of going back and forth I was rudely told that it was my fault! I am reporting them to the BBB and steer clear of Mary... nothing but a TOTAL $#*! LIAR THIEF!
A porcupine puffer, sea star, 3 green crabs, sea hare all VERY dead on arrival. This company should not be allowed to handle live animals!
Answer: Them seem to have a phone, nobody trained to answer (monkies are keep). I ordered 01/05/18 and still don't have 01/16/18 (that overnight) received email twice claiming order will ship but as stated no fish - this causes me to see red flags. I have requested cancel order and refund - we shall see what happens.
