“They shipped my car”

Sohibor B.
3/6/24

I actually spent some time trying to understand the specificity of this company, but it turned out to be something I needed. When I was moving out to another town, I understood that I should've moved out using a rent car, but had no idea what to do with my own car. So here it goes to these guys who arranged car shipment quickly, without any serious hassle. Yeah, I asked a lot of questions, but they have eventually helped me to ship my car. It came quite fast, so thanks, guys!

“Not a legitimate company”

Caroline P.

Not a legitimate company. They were running two days late picking up my car so I tried to cancel per their contracted cancellation policy and they refused to cancel. I disputed the transaction in an effort to stop them from picking it up. They picked it up anyway, essentially stealing it, before I could get a hold of the person who was releasing it to them. They then demanded cash to give it back to me. They are basically common thieves. Also, my car arrived filthy, with nearly flat tires and a dead battery.

I've recently shipped a vehicle from Boston to Los Angeles. Once we signed the initial contract with Road Runner, that was the extent of their Customer Service. They use 3rd Party Carriers to transport their vehicles and take no responsibility for the delivery of your vehicle. They refer you to the 3rd party carrier. They also do not guarantee " door to door" service as negotiated in the initial contract shipping and delivery dates. They also provide no tracking or any contact information ( address or phone number) of the 3rd party transport company. I was lucky to have spoken to the transport driver to get his personal cell phone. I ended driving an hour and a half to a storage facility to pick up my car. ( at my cost) No reimbursement offered.

No integrity, lack of customer service; disgraceful operation of an so called "Veteran" owned and operated business!"

*** BE AWARE ALL (99.2%) auto transport carriers work through BROKERS vs Independent Carriers. ***

Based on a quote 3 days prior pick up, I agreed to a "RESERVATION" and processed payment for a vehicle purchased which has disrupted my scheduled pickup from current owner; an notable inconvenience for both parties.

No attempt to contact either parties prior to execution date of pickup and the condescending response from their agent has ensured me their are still snakes in the grass.

After further research, finding out this company is operating under "Veteran Owned" company umbrella which lacks the basic core fundamentals for any and all active duty military personnel and veterans such as myself who steer away from predatory practices.

*** REMINDER ***
ALL TRANSPORT CARRIERS UTILIZES SAME SOFTWARE FOR ITS BOOKINGS!

EVEN SO THE CALLED "LOCALLY" LISTED CARRIERS OPERATING IN THE STATE OF PICKUP ARE DIEING BREED OR NON-EXISTENT.

WITH TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY, CANNOT TELL VIA GPS LOCATION OF WHO'S IN PROXIMITY FOR PICKUP NOR REVIEW RATINGS.

CANNOT GUARANTEE LOCKED IN ARRANGEMENTS.

Lastly, AUTO TRADERS over priced options has turned my first transaction into a chaotic experience.

This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Customer service was terrible. Scheduled a transport of my vehicle 2 weeks in advance and on day of arrival, driver never showed, said it was rescheduled to the next day, driver never showed up. Then after all that, they cancel the carrier. When I tried to reach out to customer service it was 30-45 minutes on hold waiting and then no help once they answered. Went with a different company and they got it booked and picked up within 2 hours. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ROADRUNNER, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE ROADRUNNER!!

The pick up was more difficult than it should be. I requested a specific day, if there is actual 2 day window then that needs to be clear from the outset. Your customer service number and website were incredibly difficult to find and rarely returned messages. While the driver eventually kept his promise of picking up the car as requested there was significant time spent calling and pushing them to do so. It shouldn't be this difficult to keep a deadline. The drop off was within the expected time and the drive was extremely accommodating, and thats how it should be on both ends.

As a travel RN, I am no stranger to traveling vast distances, but this was my first time utilizing a car transport service. As I was completely stressed before I even sought out a company, what unfolded made everything one MILLION TIMES WORSE. I initially set up the transport date and it was already a week later than my desired time, strike number one. When they found me a carrier, they had me call a number to confirm the booking and transport date. The guy who answered my call was the rudest person I've ever spoken to on the phone. It sounded like he was about to walk out on the job, and I was his last call ever. As I and my girlfriend made the trek to California from Kansas, I needed to call the company for various reasons/concerns. I had the luxury of doing nothing but traveling in a car for hours upon hours. WHAT I DIDN'T KNOW.was that I would be on hold with their customer support line for hours.and hours. Never in my life, have I been on hold more than with this company. At least an hour, 2 hours every time. The next thing I knew, they canceled my carrier that was planned. GREAT. Within the next day and a half, they find me another carrier. Oh, this one was another week later than planned. So at this point, they canceled a driver, on hold for hours, and worst customer service on the phone I've ever dealt with. BUT WAIT, THERES MORE. The second carrier they found me.cancelled on me as well. Two cancellations later, I tried calling customer support but waited for about an hour and then just gave up.

I canceled with them, requested a full refund, and will never, ever, do anything regarding this service for as long as I LIVE. For the record, I called another company called "Nexus autotransport". They found me a carrier IMMEDIATELY, got my car within two days, then delivered my car promptly in another three days. They were AMAZING, and everything that the first company was not. I repeat, do. Not. Use. Roadrunner autotransport. Save yourself the stress, time, and money.

Tip for consumers:
Worst experience of my life using a service of any kind, hated it. Hopefully my full refund comes in without problems but judging of the past experience with them there will be some kind of issue.

I will be adding to the many negative reviews for this company. I bought a 1949 Ford F5 truck in Moses Lake Washington and wanted to move it to Nampa, Idaho. I used the Road Runner Auto Transport website to book the transport. They quoted me $725 for the 390 mile trip. That seemed reasonable. Then they asked for the dimensions of the vehicle, which the seller provided. They then raised the price to $925 because they said the truck was big. I had told them upfront that it was a Ford F5 so they should have known it was big when they quoted it in the first place. Then a couple days later they raised it to $1221 because they said the truck was "inoperable" which was false. The truck ran and moved on its own power. Since I was on a tight timetable, I was forced to agree to this extortion. So the truck was delivered on Monday, December 11 by two guys who clearly were descendants of the Keystone Cops. Despite having ample room to maneuver, they were totally incapable of backing up the trailer with the vehicle on it. This must have been the very first job they ever did and they had no concept of how to drive and back up with a long trailer. Back and forth they went for half an hour, blocking traffic on the main road as they vainly failed to get the concept of which way to turn the steering wheel to get the trailer to go the way they wanted. They talked to each other in Russian I believe, so I couldn't tell what they were saying, but finally after many failed attempts to back the truck up, I had to tell them explicitly how to turn the wheel and where to drive. I couldn't believe how incompetent these guys were. When they finally got to the point where the vehicle could be unloaded, they ran the vehicle into the neighbor's fence and bent it over. Then they couldn't get the ramps back on the trailer. I will never call this company again. Bait and switch on the pricing, then send out two incompetents to deliver the vehicle

Paid additional $300 to have vehicle shipped after initial payment. Vehicle was picked up 5 days later then previously agreed upon, driver said vehicle was too dirty to do a proper inspection on, which vehicle was detailed 2 days before and not driven after wash. Driver also made false claims saying vehicle had over 100 lbs of cargo in it as well as above window line and asked for an extra $150. All cargo was weighed before loaded into vehicle at 83Lbs, and all cargo was properly stowed.

This review is solely on the senior customer service manager Pierce. He gave me all false information! He told me that my car would be picked up by a certain date took my deposit then canceled and said I had to wait and there isn't any solution but to wait a week. Even tho I have stressed countless of times that I'm paying $100 daily of storage fees. He promised guaranteed shipping and then said I had to pay even more money. Lies after lies! He refused to refund me my deposit and hung up on me several times. The worst customer service ever!

This gentleman named Sean Brady sent email trying to educate me on what a Quote means vs TOTAL PRICE and why when booking the price spontaneously increased although I just resubmitted my booking and this did not happen and the quote price remained the TOTAL PRICE, with no hidden excuses as to why!
Hopefully all goes well from here out, saying your Veteran owed, the then have an employee behave the way Sean did was unacceptable.
Sincerely,
Bryan-USMC

I wish there was an option for -100 stars. This is by far the worse company to exist in the USA.

I cannot emphasize enough how utterly horrendous my experience with RoadRunner Auto Transport has been. This company's incompetence and complete lack of professionalism have left me flabbergasted and infuriated.

I initially hired them to transport my car from New York to Florida, and that's when my ordeal began. They failed to pick up my car on the agreed-upon date, leaving me stranded and anxious. What's worse is that they still haven't managed to pick up my car or deliver it to its destination, despite their promises.

Attempting to contact this company is an exercise in futility. Phone calls go unanswered, and if by some miracle you get through, you're subjected to an eternity on hold before eventually having to hang up on yourself due to frustration and lack of patience. Emails are equally ignored, as if my concerns and inquiries don't even matter to them.

When I finally managed to get someone from the company on the phone, they had the audacity to inform me that my car was ready for pickup but required an additional payment of $300 to $400 beyond the original quote. This blatant attempt at price gouging left me dumbfounded. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the person on the other end of the line, presumably the owner, responded with an astounding level of rudeness. He callously stated, "Too bad for you, I'll cancel your order," before hanging up on me.

I implore anyone reading this review to steer clear of RoadRunner Auto Transportat all costs. This company is not only a broker of incompetence, but a prime example of how not to conduct business. Their false promises, lack of communication, and outright hostility toward customers make them a blight on the industry.

Even their hollow assurances of using reviews to improve ring hollow, as my experience only worsened after encountering them. Do not give RoadRunner Auto Transport the chance to deceive you into thinking they'll improve. They are a disgraceful excuse for a business, and it would be a grave mistake to consider entrusting them with your transportation needs.

Save yourself the headache, stress, and undoubtedly wasted money by avoiding RoadRunner Auto Transport. Their actions are not only unacceptable but border on deceitful and dishonest. In my opinion, engaging with them would be nothing short of a regrettable and costly mistake. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

I got an online quote and immediately I got the hard sell from Sean Dillon. Told him we were going to explore other options for now and that we had plenty of time and he told me this... That makes sense too. Since you're a shipping expert (who is going online getting quotes from random companies and using Uship which is a 4th party) ill unsubscribe and block your email praying you never use the website or contact us again. Good luck! Perhaps he was off his meds?

I called RoadRunner after another auto transport company stood me up a day before my move. I called so that I could speak to comeone directly and get confirmation that the car would be picked up prior to us moving, very quickly. Well, they assured me (and took my money). I went the entire scheduled pick up day (move day) with not one ounce of communication from RoadRunner, lol. No one ever called or showed up.

But they took the money in full upfront. It's honestly a genius business model for them, but as a customer, if you are moving, have a time frame or generally value your time... avoid these people at all costs. Yikes.

Driver missed pickup date three times. Driver did not provide delivery date or time. Driver arrived at delivery location without prior phone call, unannounced, unexpected and after business hours. Demanded someone immediately take delivery or driver would drop car on the street and go out of state to next pickup/delivery. Completely unprofessional and unsatisfactory experience, start to finish. Otherwise, it was fine.

The service was easy and hassle-free, however, I would not give it a 5-star because there was a lot of uncertainty. I was called a day before the expected delivery day with the message that the car will arrive that evening. I was in contact with someone since 5PM and left work early and was in constant contact with someone from the company who could not give me enough information. I do not understand why the driver's information was not provided since this would have been easier. I waited for about 4 hours thinking that the car was on the way, however, then I was told it would arrive the next morning. At the end, they were able to meet me at 5:30am as I requested so I could make sure I did not run late to work.

Secured our booking and paid almost 1,000 dollars and was told a pick up date and was told we would get a 2-3 hr window for pick up. They called 3 days prior and confirmed pick up date. The day before pick up I get a call saying they will be at my house in 20 mins. I live rural. There was no way I could be there in 20
Mins and told the man I was told pick up was the next day. The soonest I could get there was 40 mins. He said he can't wait that long and he will pick up the original day planned. Again was told would get 2-3 hr window but to be safe my husband stayed home until they came. Got a call again 20 mins before pickup. We were given a delivery date and checked often to see if it was still on par. On the delivery date it got later and later and I called to check on things. I was told the car would be delivered but it might be as late as 9pm and again we would get a call with the window. My son took off work to make sure he was available. By 7:30 pm still had not heard anything. Called and company was closed. Called next morning and was told they show the car should have been delivered and they would call me right back. Waited 2 more hours and called back and was told delivery dates aren't guaranteed and I asked why there is no communication if there is a delay and why was I just told day prior it would still be delivered that day. Was given no answer. I said I need a real update and where my car was because my son needs to take off to pick it up. The lady says he doesn't need to take off. They can just leave the car somewhere and hide the keys. How this is acceptable I'm not sure. Especially when the condition of the car needs to be reviewed or it's an apartment complex. I again asked what is the new update because you're told you can track where your car is and when it will be delivered. You can't. The lady told me the best she could do is try and locate the company they contracted and email an update and that's the best I will get. Extremely unacceptable and unprofessional.
