Ordered three items, necklace came broken, and the dress was missing the corset and was much too small (and my lady is tiny… not sure how that is even possible). It took me three emails to Customer service emails to get any sort of actual correspondence, and a month later still arguing with them. I would never order from this site again, avoid avoid avoid

Dresses!

It's great when you can find such adorable dresses that actually for your style! I can no wait to wear this dress for Christmas dinner with friends and family, and show it off. It's supper easy to order, and find what I want, just wish they had more shoes in my size (9 1/2) but dang, the dresses. I love them.

Good quality, I can't complain

Purchased a matching bathing suit and wrap. Great quality, unique piece. The suit is double-layered with sturdy, opaque fabric––the white parts are not see-through. Nice zipper on the wrap. It took about a month to arrive to Canada. I would just say to be sure that you get the right size, since returns will likely be a hassle.

I ordered two dresses from Retro stage for almost $100. However, when they arrived, I was shocked to find that the seams are not well sewn (you can see loose threads everywhere), the fabric is flimsy and feels like material you would use on a Halloween costume. One of the dresses I ordered was so bad I didn't even try it on-- I paid nearly $60 for that one and it looks like a cheap Walmart costume for a 5-yo. The other was a little better, if you put it on and stood far away from the mirror and squinted it was actually pretty cute. Any closer up though you could see the shabby seams and the flimsy material of the dress. Felt barely sturdier than a trash bag. I'm really disappointed, the dresses looked amazing online and the reviews were pretty good. Don't be fooled.

Very satisfied

When I ordered my dresses I accidently ordered one as a small. Very awkward since I actually needed XXL. I frantically send an email to customer service to which they responded a few hours later. They changed the size for me and were very kind about it. The dresses took a bit longer to arrive than I expected. I figured it would take 3 weeks for them to arrive but it ended up being two weeks longer. I've ordered from more expensive vintage sites before and I'm not going to lie, you can tell there's a difference in quality. The fabric is thinner and the stitches on the inside are messier. On the outside though? Can't tell the difference. Considering that these are half the price of my more expensive vintage dresses I think it's a decent trade-off. So low price for beautiful dresses but the quality is a bit lower and they take somewhat longer to arrive.

I've ordered about five times and one items has been high quality. Their other were very low end and badly fitting. And, their shipping takes FOREVER. It's obviously dropped shipped or from China. Also: buyer beware of the "pre-sale" - this will mean the shipping will take months to North America. With all of the options this one just is not worth the risk and long wait times.

Can't seem to get answers

I initially ordered from them and the outfits arrived really quickly. Though terrible quality but I guess you get what you pay for. However my 2 other orders are nowhere to be found now. I contacted them weeks ago and no response. I'm not sure if it is a legitimate website anymore.

That said, my experience was a bit hit-and-miss. I ordered 2 versions of this dress - the first color didn't suit me. The second pattern was adorable, the dress is extremely flattering, BUT the bust seams were sewn all wrong. The pleating over the bust was tucked unevenly into the sides, and resulted in a really weird puckering effect on each side of my breasts. Very odd.

It's kind of hard to see in pictures with the pattern, but the second dress definitely has a flaw. Sending it back (sigh).

Bikini set - as good as retail but so much cheaper

I bought the Striped Colorblock Retro Bikini Set in large. The fir was loose on top but perfect bottoms which is what I expected because I'm pear shaped. I would love if you could mix and match bikini tops and bottoms to get the right fit. Otherwise it's a perfectly good quality bikini that looks as good as in the advertisement and my husband loves it too ;)

I think it is important to support American companies, I did not realize this brand drop ships directly from China, as soon as I realized this I sent them an email to cancel my order, they waited until just after my package shipped to tell me it cannot be canceled once it is shipped. My order came in two parts, the first came promptly, the second was 3 days late after waiting for nearly 2 weeks. The quality of the items are so so, see through, kinda costume-like, but they are pretty. I don't plan to return, however it needs to be mentioned this company ships directly from China and the quality is as such, slow shipping, and I don't anticipate these items lasting a long time.

I had to wait a while to get this 1950s-style, strawberry-print dress. It's pretty but runs small. Order one or 2 sizes up. You can always get a tailor to take it in if it arrives too big.

It's attractive overall & I got compliments when I wore it.

I bought this green velvet dress for a formal event. The stitching is extremely sloppy, and there are even red threads in it in one area. But the absolute worst part was that the white lining from the seams is visible on the exterior of the dress! You could see it whenever I moved my arms. Who would wear that in public? When I asked for a refund they kept blowing me off and asking if I wanted to purchase something else instead. Finally, they offered a refund but told me I had to pay the shipping because 'it is normal to have threads inside the clothes'. Whatever that means.

Far better than expected

Dress was higher quality than I expected, fabric is soft and not the typical cheap china crap. Seams are well done, dress fits great. Looks like the picture. Hard to find these vintage looking dresses, so glad we found Retro Stage.
Shipping was fast and easy, took about 2 weeks to California.
Looking forward to another great dress.

Do not buy!

If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered two suits for a vacation and ordered both in the same size. Both XL. I received one XL and one size 2. Big difference. I emailed customer service because there is no way to return or exchange on their site. I have emailed back and forth for a week to just do an even exchange. No go. They wanted me to pay for shipping yet again and repurchase the item. No. This was their error and I shouldn't have to pay anything more. I argued that fact but they offered to send a new one, keep the old one and just pay $8. Again, no. I've already paid for the items and paid for shipping. They wouldn't even do an even exchange for items already purchased. I didn't even try on the size 2 as I couldn't even cover my right boob with both cups. Terrible service and will not make it right with the customer. Bad business and very untrustworthy. Look elsewhere.

We promptly offered options for return and exchange upon receiving your email. If there has been any misunderstanding, or if you need further assistance in this process, I am more than happy to guide you through it.

Please note, that if the error was on our part, we provide free return service. However, if you mistakenly ordered the wrong size, you would be responsible for the return shipping cost. We cannot resend a new item for free in this case.

That being said, we did offer you a better option hoping to resolve this issue. For a fee of $8, we offered to send you a new swimsuit without the need for a return. We have absorbed part of the loss in this situation.

Even Better In Person

Wow! What can I say! This 1920's flapper style dress is absolutely stunning! From the beading, to the sequins, it is really well put together! All you need is a feather headpiece and some pearls to compete the look! I will definitely be ordering more in the very near future!

Wish I had read reviews before buying

I got two bathing suits for two of my teenage daughters. The medium fit and we kept it. The small size was larger than the medium and didn't fit at all. Wrote to them to request the refund. They basically said no. Beware of their poor quality control and problematic return process. Will never buy from this site again.

1920's Pink Flapper Dress

I'm not going to lie - I figured the reviews were manufactured and the dress would be passable for a one time wear - I was 100% wrong! The picture is of me trying it on right out of the package. I am a size 8/10 US in most dresses - It has some stretch and I could have gone with a large (got XL) but it's superior quality for an excellent price! If you had any doubts whatsoever I'm here to tell you to buy it!

Horrible Company

Paid for express shipping on order of Oct 23 and to date, evening of Nov 6, I have nothing. They refuse to give me a refund. They pretend items ship when they create a label. Then it goes to a black whole. Totally ruined my birthday when my outfit didn't show up. Buyer beware!

Terrible
May 25, 2021

My experience with this company was terrible from start to finish. After well over a month I received my item. The cut, quality, and size were all way off. Worst of all, it arrived without a clasp rendering it completely useless. After far too much back and forth with the vendor, they decided to refund me everything except the shipping. I am done fighting with them, and they are sticking to their guns - so I was forced to pay to ship a piece of trash all the way from China. They also attempted to bribe me to leave a good review.
