I've been shopping on Raise since 2013 and have made 50+ purchases. The vast majority are seamless. On the off hand something happens (like I accidentally lose a gift card), customer service has been very helpful in resolving the issue.
Never again will I order from Raise.com. Their customer service is terrible. I called them twice and emailed them four times (with no response) without a resolution to my problem. Now I'm out almost $300 from a bad gift card.
I have so far purchased gift cards worth $2500. Only couple of times, it has happened that the cards partially used could no longer be used as the balance went to 0 (probably the seller used it). Raise has backed up their 100 day refund plan on both those occasions. Excellent customer service.
Any time that I have needed assistance customer service was polite, respectful & extremely quick in resolving any issues. If I send an email, customer service has responded promptly in email. When returning a call everyone that I have dealt with has been the exact perfection of who you would want to take care of you as a representative. The staff is wonderful. Raise truly stands behind ALL gift cards that are sold on their site. I would give them 10 stars if I could for being so proactive in making sure that all issues are to ones satisfaction & making me feel like a very valued customer.
Buyers beware! The raise.com requested my to give them my photo ID copy juts for a $500 value giftcard order, Of course I felt absolutely uncomfortable and denied it. I asked them why they insisted this, their answer is: this is the only thing they can accept.
So, I decided not to buy the $500 gift card from them. But... soon later I found out they suspended my account without noticing me at all, which means they probably do not really care if you can still shop on their website. Frankly speaking, this is truly the first time I 've heard an online website asked buyers with absolutely normal credit card charged by them all the time, to provide a photo id copy. Really ridiculous! If you don't care about your personal ID security, then go ahead to give them your copy of photo ID just for few bucks savings through gift cards.
I have saved so much money with Raise.com, it truly is amazing what this company does. Do not be fooled by any bad reviews, those members most likely misunderstand their protection with the 100 day guarantee. Yes, I have had cards that were troublesome, but RJ in customer service helped me and he told me my purchase price was always protected by the 100 day guarantee. I saw a refund within 2 days. This is not something that happens a lot, but it can, and that's why the 100 day thing is in place. Thank you RJ!
I'm extremely angry with Raise. I bought 480 dollars in gift cards that were already used. Ok sure they say they are guaranteed but what they don't tell you is they take 10-14 business days to conduct their investigation before they will give me a refund. I bought these cards to use for something I needed to buy that was on sale for only two days. Now I can't even buy what I need at all because Raise has tied up my money. So I'm out nearly 500 dollars for at least two weeks. They gave me a five dollar code for my trouble. This is a pittance and a joke. The biggest joke being, they think I'd actually give them money again. I hate you so much right now Raise!
This was my first order from Raise.com. I ordered 3 gift cards and didn't realize that they could be sent in two different shipments. She helped me track the two shipments until they were both received. She followed up with me several times during the process to make sure of my satisfaction.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Raise. To date, I've saved $300 with just under $3000 worth of gift cards purchased. I've purchased Toys R Us, PetSmart and Lowe's and haven't had a single problem redeeming. I've purchased both instant wallet delivered and mailed cards. If you're looking to save money, this is definitely the place to go!
Ordered e-card for birthday gift for today, my credit card was fully charged (not authorizing/pending!); acct says "digitally delivered" but was never received. They say wait 30 days! Will never order from them again, no excuse for delays on electronically delivered goods they already took the money for!
I tried to purchase popcorn using gift cards purchased at raise.com and ended up entirely frazzled with the popcorn vendor and its website checkout process. Out of sheer frustration I called raise to see why I might be having so many problems. In this age of automation and scripted customer service you can imagine my surprise to find Raise's rep to be exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. She went the extra mile to help sort things out even though the problem(s) resided with the popcorn vendor and not Raise.
You can be sure I will always go to raise.com first for all my gift card purchases. Thank you!
I sold a $25 Macaroni Grill gift card on Raise.com, gave them my card # and pin#. The card "sold" within an hour and the site said they would send me a check for my portion. It's been three weeks with no check in the mail and found that my account on the website is suspended? Of course, there's no answer at customer support. I guess I'm lucky since I'm reading about folks receiving bounced checks from them.
I had accidentally forgotten to include a promo code when I placed an order, so I used their live chat feature which is available every day. Their representative responded quickly and gave me a credit toward my next purchase.
I don't think any other online company could match the customer service of Raise. The 100 day Money-Back guarantee is unbelievable. I have saved hundreds of dollars by using discounted gift cards. It is like buying something on sale every day. If you save 22% on a gift card, it is a real savings and not something advertised by a retail store. Just think, it can be added to a sale price, in-store coupon or even a military discount. There is no better shopping around.
I like the courtesy of knowing how many callers are ahead of me, so I don't waste my time. The service is courteous with the matter being addressed promptly. Had a problem with one physical card. Received a refund immediately and was able to order another right after I got off the phone. The confirmation emails arrived shortly thereafter. Your whole team is reliable. Kudos to the Leader and trainer(s).
I purchased 2 gift cards from raise.com & both arrived with a zero balance. Unfortunately, I didn't use them until over 100 days after I received the cards which is outside raise's guarantee period. I called customer service anyway to report person who sold them to me & was overjoyed that rep refunded my purchase price & also gave me a discount on my next purchase! Talk about fabulous customer service! I am a very happy Raise customer & highly recommend them. PS I will now check balances on all cards as soon as I receive them!
Complete scam, buyer beware! I purchased over $2000 worth of gift cards from this shady outfit only to find out that 12 of the cards I purchased carried a ZERO balance! After the embarrassment at the stores and restaurants ("Sorry, Sir, there is nothing on your card"), I was given vague and ambiguous answers by customer service as to why this could have happened. Save your money, the hassle and, above all, the embarrassment. Run from this company, don't walk.
I reported an e-gift card stolen today. After 20 minutes later, they gave me a full refund with 5 dollars credit. You can not find any other companies like Raise. So, I am happy to do businesses with them again! I also believe that you will be happy to buy your gift cards with them!
I purchased $75 in gift cards, and immediately received an email that my account needed "further verification required". The email message told me I had to call *******065. They asked me personal questions that are usually asked only by banks and financial institutions. What street I lived on, car details, loan I previously or currently have? I called my credit card company immediately after, and was told Raise was already on their fraudulent activity list... and should be avoided. The fraud department replaced my credit card, and put out a fraud alert to the credit reporting agencies.
I save lots of money using raise. Sometimes the card goes bad by fraud of the seller. Raise is quick to respond and refunds your money within 3 days. Yes some cards go bad, so if you gift cards to people ask them to use ASAP and let you know if it goes bad. I usually buy just for myself for this reason. You could buy direct from sellers on Ebay for bigger discounts, but then you take the risk. With raise they take the risk and refund money promptly. Most cards can be verified at retailer website before you go into store to use it.
Answer: I had a problem with the lowes gift cards i purchased from Raise as they did not work at lowes. It took upwards of 10 calls and over 3 months before I received my over $700 back. I will never buy anything on Raise again
Answer: People should unite and file a class action lawsuit against these guys, any attorneys reading this?
Answer: You check the balance on the business' website. For instance, if you have a McDonald's gift card, go to McDonald's website to check the card balance.
Answer: The usual issue is that someone will buy a gift card with a stolen credit card and then sell it to Raise (or others) for cash. Usually within 100 days the gift card issuer will find out when they have been charged back for the stolen card purchase, at which point they invalidate the card and zero the balance. Raise.com will refund you the unused balance on the card prior to it being zeroed out, but only within 60 days of your order. Their short protection policy limits their exposure if a high value card is invalidated and you come looking for a refund three months after you bought it. Every gift card reseller has a different policy for refunds. Some are as short as a few weeks, others last 100 days or more. Raise.com's 60 day policy is shorter than many of their competitors, which is why I don't use them much anymore. The lessons I have learned is only order cards you will use entirely within the next month, never gift them to others, and keep a spreadsheet if you order a lot of cards so you can keep track of balances. In all, I've had about 3% of the 200 cards I've ordered suddenly zeroed out. The majority were for improbably large amounts, which is why I now try and order lower value cards. One site suddenly listed 10 $100 gift cards for Jimmy Johns, a sub shop. One has to wonder who would order gift cards like this in the first place, only to put up for resale. It turned out the original buyer used a stolen credit card to buy them all and turned the proceeds into cash. The cards were all zeroed out. I have learned to be suspicious when a large number of high $ value cards in the same amount suddenly go up for sale. So while it may make sense to buy a $100 gift card for Sears, it usually isn't to buy a $100 gift card for Dunkin Donuts.
Answer: Susan, we're sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. Can you please send an email to member.success@raise.com with the email address associated with your account so that we can look into this for you?
