I would give negative stars if it was possible. Terrible customer service, they never answer, leaving you on hold for almost an hour, they lie about the status of delivery, they experience "delay" after "delay" with only a sorry to show for it and no transport. Car has been held for almost a month, and all I get is lies and future dates. Better name for this company is Puerto Rico Car Jackers. Worst experience ever. They don't have the decency to even compensate you for their complete incompetence and huge inconvenience, or better yet, be transparent and truthful about their limitations. Wish the company was decent enough or had the integrity to return the money and/or cover for the plane ticket to get the car yourself, as they can't seem to do the job they promise they are experts at doing.
This it's the most expensive and mediocre company I have ever deal with one operator if you ask for a supervisor you will be hang up it took them over a month to ship mi vehicle and at the end they charge me port storage when Crowley didn't charge them total fiasco really bad company beware do not do business with this company unless you want to have a bad experience with your export
Stay away from this company if at all possible! I used them to get my vehicles brought to the island from the mainland. Puerto Car Transport uses Crowley (another trash company) for the actual transport. I did exactly as instructed in every way. My truck was damaged in transport. I reported it, made photos showing fresh damage when I picked it up, filled out all of the necessary claim forms, but still was denied reimbursement for damages. They told me my truck was damaged prior to transport. I fought with them for several months, sending photos proving the damage was done after I left my truck at the port in Jacksonville,FL. They continued to deny coverage for the damage to my truck through the insurance that I bought through their company. Eventually, they just ignored my calls. I then went directly to Crowley (a shipping monopoly in Puerto Rico) and got the same run around. STAY AWAY IF POSSIBLE.
When I first called I was given instructions to provide info on car's Vin #, license plate, title and my driver's license. I handed all that information right after. All that was pending was payment. Next thing I know there were these ladies requesting I, an individual with no company, had to get an EIN number and fill out a documemt from Crowley. I looked into it and they had to fill this out as a company. But the ladies that kept calling me back insisted I needed an EIN or my social security number as default. I think they are scamming people to get private information and use it for God knows what. So I went with another company who only requested the initial items this same company did. No EIN or social security needed. Boy, I almost got the scam of my life! After, I researched them and the other review websites do not go over a 2 star review. I'm surprised this one does!
In the beginning they were great. Then I paid and they ghosted me. I didn't even know or couldn't find out where to drop off the vehicle. I finally got an email after sitting in Jacksonville for hours. Be smart and trust my review, dont use them and go through Crowley direct.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. This company is great just until you pay. After paying there's no way of getting a hold of your agent and customer service is rude and disastrous. A car is an important an expensive asset in a customer's life. This company will make you feel like it was stolen, with no updates or communication at all. Completely disappointed, regret doing business with them.Car was supposedly be picked up the 19 which never happened and picking up the car. The 23rd car was supposed to be there by the 31st which I have receipts and everything print out. And customer service who does the booking never contact you guarantee me that the car was there the first which is never happen now they're telling me that the car will be there to the six. No refund now I got into more expenses, rental cars. Add another flight back because they don't have control. Supposedly that's last time I'm using this company when you make a booking they sell you the stars the moon after that no communication at all you call customer service sucks that's not the way you do business when I called and I make the booking I was very specific I needed that vehicle there for the first that's why I went a go ahead and pay it because the supposedly person that I spoke to that does the booking guarantee me that if I would've known that this car would not made it there I would never ship it in the first place. How dumb can I be doing it knowing that the car will not be there no good for you guys company
I can't believe that the employees are so incompetent. They don't tell you all the documents that you need, they treat you really bad. And when you call, minimum you have to wait like an idiot. When I went to leave the car I swear they took 3 hours! And all the employees were talking and joking! First and last time I use them! I give 1 because I can't give 0.
PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY TO TRANSPORT YOUR CAR!
The customer service is great until they collect your money! Alexandra has the worst customer service and even lies to ensure you don't cancel port to house delivery. My car arrived at Jacksonville port from Puerto Rico on Aug. 13/2020. After a week of waiting for a carrier I decided I was going to the port to get my car. I call the company and told Alexandra I wanted to cancel the service. At that moment she told me they found a carrier and my car will be delivered the next day (Aug. 22/2020). The car was NOT delivered! I call every day for 2 weeks and had waiting periods of up to 4 hours! Two times, after giving my booking number they literally hang up the phone. Alexandra, told me she didn't know were the carrier was or when the car was going to be delivered. All this time I was renting a car to be able to go to work.
When the carrier finally delivered my car he informed me that the car had been listed for $100.00 for the past two weeks and no carrier will ever make a delivery from Jacksonville to Fort Myers for $100.00. The carrier decided to deliver my car after Puerto Rico Car Transport decided to increase the price to $300.00. When I ask him how many days he had been with my car, he answered "I picked it up yesterday".
Puerto Rico Car Transport lied about not knowing were my car was during the past two weeks! The car was still at Jacksonville port waiting for a carrier while I pay a car rental and was lied about the real location of my car.
Services and support was great. As a first user, I'll recommend to advise the user with the receiving port rules since had to work on different documents such as Bill of Lading, Certificate of tax payment and vehicle pick-up authorization. Thanks...
Driver picked up vehicle two days past the pick up date.
Driver arrived at port destination on a Sunday and claimed he didn't know the vehicle was going to Puerto Rico.
Vehicle was 12 days past pick up date in San Juan. Had to rent car for an extra two weeks.
Communication was awful.
Had my parents vehicle shipped from Florida to Puerto Rico the shipping date was changed twice. Getting through to someone who can help answer questions is near impossible. When I finally was able to speak to someone after many tries they tell me we have not acquired a transport we will let you know by email when when we have one. Then I realize they don't have their own transport they hire contracted people to pick up the vehicle. Finally two days after the scheduled pickup I receive a phone call at 10:30 pm to tell me that they had to pick up two other vehicles and they could not make it to my location for another day. Finally the car is picked up and shipped from Jackdonville FL I'm told it will arrive August 4th 2020 and of course that date was incorrect after many calls and messages to the live online customer service I finally get a arrival date to Puerto Rico of august 10,2020. Here's the worst part I was quoted that the "albitros" the cost to pick up the vehicle at the port in Puerto Rico would be $880. That was a lie they charged my parents $2245. So I question the Puerto Rico location about the huge difference in cost and they tell me that the Florida office does not know what they are doing and that they are wrong, funny how they all work for the same company. Then to top it off they charge an additional $200 dollars for paperwork because they claim they are a private company and have to charge for their work. They are not a private company it's the same company name for both locations. This cost was never mentioned and was not on the documents so beware they also refused to provide a receipt for the additional $200 charged for paperwork That had to be paid in cash so that employee made a nice tip for his pocket. Beware this company had a bunch of inept employees that will rip you off take legal action. Unfortunately there's not a zero star rating.
I cannot stress enough how you SHOULD NOT use this company. Go with CROWLEY directly or for shipping from PR use CAR FREIGHT. They quickly give you a quote and then they call you incessantly to see when you'll ship your car. However, if your contact person does not give you their ext. --or even better-- an email address, you are stuck because they NEVER answer the telephone promptly: you always have to wait on the line for the next available agent.
I made the mistake to use them and almost got scammed. I was trying to ship from PA to PR though the vehicle was not registered therefore not able to be driven. I had gotten a quote to drop off in Eddystone, PA and when I said I needed to realized that needed it towed asked for a revision. They wanted $500+ to tow the car 35 miles to the port. I agreed reluctantly because no other tow truck would handle a tow across the NJ/PA state line. On the appointed day, I waited from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm for a tow truck to arrive. I called every hour and waited in line until they picked up the phone and said: "you are calling about they xxxx car and when I answered YES they would put me on hold again until the system hung up. I waited a 2nd day -- calling every hour and getting hung up on --until mid-afternoon when a guy called ‘Max' called to schedule his tow truck to come pick up my car which was headed to Jacksonville. I said no way my car's is just going from S. Jersey to the PA port. He said he would check with Puerto Rico Car Transport and call back. He did not call back for over 1 hour since he was put on hold as well. Puerto Rico Car Transport tried to say that I had agreed to the terms to ship my car through Jacksonville. I said I had not and emailed the reps who gave me their emails and said I was cancelling my booking unless my car went via PA. I cancelled their tow and found a tow to the port on my own for $100 less.
They are unprofessional and rude. They provide the least information possible and try to add fees at any possible point. CAVEAT EMPTOR: buyer beware!
Overall delivery was completed successfully and on-time per contract. However, waiting time to reach a customer service representative can use some help. Their chatting live representative option was not available either. Left multiple messages before someone returned my call. Can be frustrating at times.
First, I called it several times an never I can't talk with any representative. They put me on hold but never came back. Second, do not have enough Spanish speakers personal. But thanks for your online service.
The transport involved a truck transport from Indianapolis to Jacksonville----now taking place. I have not heard yet if the car is in Jacksonville----waiting anxiously.
Then would like to know when it is boarded on the boat for San Juan.
Please let me know.
I called in and an agent gave me all the info i needed. Once ii shipped the product i received an email and call the day before the vehicle was ready to be picked up telling me that by tomorrow i could go get me vehicle. Once there i was able to pick up my vehicle and even paid the taxes on port. This company delivered as promised. Everything on schedule. Will definitely come back to them if I ever need to ship a vehicle to or from PR.
I was able to communicate with Minor and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the processes. I felt such a relief talking to him since my Spanish wasn't 100% and I had a lot of questions. He provided top quality customer service and I would do business with PR car transport again.
The AACA Cert is required for the police report. Also need copies of everything for the police. The police won't do copies. Please inform future customers. Also, my car was registered in Puerto Rico in the past, but not right now. It's currently registered in California. The front desk at the port was making something out of nothing. I had to explain that I'm active duty service member so they would understand was registered in PR in the past. The process is not as smooth as we wish it was.
Simple, reliable and convenient. The only thing was that although there was an address it was vague. There wasn't a bldg. # or name of company delivering. Once we asked the pick up was actually at Crowley which is the only company allowed and which was on street given. Once there though it was fast and we were on our way. Thank you.
My car arriving date was dilated and your notice that the car is not arrive the date was scheduled you notice the day after was scheduled, I have to extend the time of a car rent, so I have to loose more money in car rent, I know that's something can happen but you're company is responsible to let me know with more time.
Answer: Not that easy. You should expect to do a lot of work by yourself.
Answer: Don't use them. I which I can say better but the whole experience was pretty negative and poor.
Answer: It is a legit company but probably run by a handful of people not giving 100% of the time to this business.
