I moved across the country and wanted a cell phone with a number from my new province. I changed the information on my credit card. When I tried to pay for a plan with Public Mobile, it said that my postal code was incorrect. I submitted a ticket to get help. Initially, the agent was very responsive and escalated my situation. On the 4th day, there was no solution and another agent was handling the case. It took me less than 10 minutes to register with a different company. When I complained to the new agent that I had wasted $10 on a SIM card, he said that "many requests are being processed." How long does it take to fix a simple billing problem? Unacceptable.

There is no support from any staff whatsoever. The AI "Simon" is useless. My number wasn't completely transported and my original cellphone provider asked me to tell Public to send them another request. Of course, there is no one to talk to, just an endless login loop to try to start a ticket. Incompetent and useless by design. I deeply regret even trying with this provider. The only real person you may talk to is the sales agent. After that, it's $#*! you, too bad, nobody home, just a badly designed AI that hasn't the slightest ability to help. Even sewage garbage can't be this $#*!ty! Go back to cellphone provider school you idiots!

Followed all provided set up and porting instructions. I spent almost a month unaware my phone number could not receive calls or text. I am expected to pay for my next month of no service in a couple of days.

Calling their customer service line gives only account information or changes to, no assistance with problems. The ONLY methods of assistance are going to a physical store and complaining, or making a second Public mobile account for their forums and MAYBE getting a reply in a few days. Then waiting another few days to get a reply to your response.

Go with Public Mobile if you want to gamble on paying for a service you wont get, and jumping through hoops to MAYBE correct it.

Setup was smooth and easy.
Porting an existing number is fast, or you can customize a new number.
SIM cards can be purchased for just $2.99 at Canadian Cell Supplies with free shipping.
Good national coverage on Telus network.
The basic plans with add-ons that don't time expire fit my needs well.
There are several reward options to lower your monthly bill, discounts that add up over time, and are welcome for those of us on a retired fixed income.

Just signed up with Public Mobile. Transition was very smooth. When signing up you either need to give your account # or your IMEI number if you are porting your number from another service provider. To find your IMEI number on your phone dial *#06#. This will give you a display of your IMEI. Also you don't need a physical Sim card on newer phones but can get an Esim which is cheaper and is installed when signing up.

Note: If you use Z3ZP59 you will receive a $10 credit on your next month's bill.

I have the 50gb for 34.00 a month Canada plan...it is fast, consistent and i am so happy that i choose Public Mobile. I do not recommend it for someone that cannot find their way around a phone booth. That being said, for everyone else, go for it you wont be disappointed.

On every monthly bill you will accumulate points 5% (eg: $30,1.45 pts.). If you get 15 pts. You can apply this to your monthly bill. At the end of every year you get an additional 10 pts. For staying with Public Mobile.

Cheap and super easy to set up.

Some people won't like that they don't have proper customer service, so if you don't like that then this carrier may not be for you. I love it though because everything is done online, so that means no social anxiety associated with phone calls and no being left on hold for hours on end. Definitely a plus in my book. The set up process was insanely easy. Just had to get a sim card and follow the instructions. Also, you can't beat the prices. They use the same network as Telus, so you don't have to worry about having proper coverage. The point system is great. You gradually acquire points which can be redeemed for money off your bill. Also you can get a $10 credit if you sign up with the code 5VOOP8

This is a scam! Nothing works and there is no customer services, only one agent that will change every couple of hours and takes forever to reply. I paid my 3 months plan and I chose a number that was apparently already assigned to another person with another carrier. Now, when I ask for a refund, they always tell me I have to try other things that are not working. And also they tell me that refunding will take 15-30 buisness days! What kind of $#*!ty company is that. I'm pissed!

With support from the Public Mobile community, I got answers in a few minutes. Plus, I could accumulate points after paying every dollar. The points could be used to redeem the monthly bill payment. Impossible to log into one's account on their website. Many, including myself, complain about being taken through a loop during login where they keep asking for a username and password. Impossible to get support through their "community" because cannot log into account. Chatbot is an AI that does not understand issues posed to it. Awful!

My auto billing credit card changed due to hsbc turning into royal bank, they keep getting paid but they shut down my service my e mail account was hacked and i lost it. So not able to contact them. No 1 800 number nothing i can do, they keep billing me for no service. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND SIGHNING UP AS If anything is wrong to bad so sad they don t care

I can't access my account, I can't contact them and that Robot is a piece of $#*!. I get lost in the park with that thing. How do I cancel my subscription? I do get charged on my Credit Card. (That works). It is owned by Telus. ( I should have known better).

My phone does not work in my home,, it works fine everywhere else but not at my home. It used to work but they must have changed something. I can hear people but they can't hear me. Also often I don't receive texts until over 24 hours after they were sent. When I tried to get support I get" Opps something went wrong please return to previous page " over and over again. I could not recommend their service and I am shopping for a new one.

Since being with Public Mobile I have experienced no problems with the service. Further the service plan I signed up for is one of the most economical amongst service providers. Also Public provides incentives for remaining with their network.

Cellular provider working from the telus, bell network for much cheaper. No call center but when it takes an hour to talk to a human at telus or bell what is the difference really? Forum based tech support with ways to make your bill cheaper like 2$ off for auto pay and 1$ off for every referal. Even money off for helping others on the forum.
If you decide to sign up please message me here when u order your sim and i will give you my number to use as a referal thanx! For the dollar in advance.if not cool it's still a great service.

This provider is a joke. It is impossibke to get any help. Everything is online so there is no live chat or phone calls. And when you open a ticket for support you get a reply 3 hours later, sometimes longer. Over 4 days you'll go back and fourth every few hours with various agents. All who will just agree with their colleague before them and say what they said, and actually none of them know the issue at hand. You get attitude when trying to explain the situation and treated like your stupid. In the end the problem has no remedy. They try payment without notifying you or having your consenr, so you pay $50+ for a plan on an eSIM, and it does not activate the account you want, They expect you to pay another $50+ for a plan on your original account you can not sign in to. And they can not refund the payment from the second account with eSIM, transfer plan, nothing at all to accomodate. So you're expected to keep taking money out of your pocket and put it into their scam company. Eventually after no real solutions or remedies to fix the issue, with all the added stress, frustration and extra payments they stop replying all together. Oh and let's not forget, to keep your plan active you must add funds before the due date or pay on due date, which is impossible when you can not sign in to your account no matter what and do not have a 4 digit pin to call *611 and complete it that way. Absolutely hate this company. I regret ever signing up. Years ago there was normal customer service call-in features. But now, it's just ridiculous.
