The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. Had a medical issue and needed to return a few days early. They will not refund anything for early return rentals and they keep the full amount. That's fine, I just won't use them ever again.
I have purchased international plane tickets from Priceline twice in the past because of their really low prices, and they were both successful with nothing going wrong. The third time, however, I did experience a problem. I purchased two international roundtrip plane tickets for Virgin Atlantic Airlines through Priceline.com. When Virgin Atlantic changed their flight time, it caused a problem with our tickets as we no longer saw that we were passengers for the plane. I called the Virgin Atlantic customer service, and they told me that we did not have a reserved seat at the plane, and couldn't find our booked tickets. Since I had purchased tickets through a third party (Priceline), there was nothing they could do, and that I needed to contact Priceline. When I called Priceline, the representatives were competent in what they were doing, and told me to that our tickets had been cancelled by Virgin Atlantic. They said to wait at least 7 business days as they would work on it with the airline. I checked back with Virgin Atlantic 2 weeks later, and our seats were confirmed, and we are once again passengers for the flight. I was nervous at first thinking this problem would never be resolved, but I was wrong, and am quite impressed with Priceline's customer service. I will continue to book my trip flights through Priceline, especially since tickets are sold at really low prices, and if any issues will occur, I am confident that Priceline will pull through and fix the problem. Thanks Priceline!
They canceled my flight without telling me! Cost me an extra $500 to get to my destination and they will not refund my money! Isn't that stealing?
I spent about $1,000 purchasing two tickets for a trip that I ended up needing to cancel. After a few hundred $$ in fees were deducted, I was issued a credit of $700. (Whatever, I know airlines gouge you on changes like that.) HOWEVER, I was instructed to call the help desk when I wanted to rebook using my credit, which I attempted to do this morning. I was informed that $400 MORE would be deducted from the credit in "change fees", leaving me with less than a full ticket's worth of credit! (For the record, the $700 credit included the change fee already.)
The representatives I spoke to were snarky, entitled, and genuinely seemed to be enjoying my frustration.
I will never use this service again in my life, and as an avid traveler, I will advise anyone I know to shop elsewhere as well.
Whatever good deal you THINK you're getting on your flight/hotel/rental car/etc... is NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.
Avoid Priceline like a plague- horrific experience!
You think you're getting a good deal on accomodation then you get stung for fees and taxes. Later when it comes on your credit card there's the transaction fee!
When you book with other sites the you are given the total cost it isn't slipped in later like this crooked site. BUYER BEWARE!
I had a car reservation for today, but there was a situation that was beyond my control and I could not pick up the car. I called Priceline to ask if we could move the pickup date to the next day.(I did not ask for a refund or cancellation) - I merely need to change the date on the pickup. Well, after talking to someone from another country who repeated the script 6 times... I finally hung up and decided that I will never use this company again. There is no margin for catastrophic situations or accidents... you simply lose your money. Done with this company.
Very disappointed with Priceline, they do not back their own quarentee, They promise to refund the difference between their price and a lower price 100% and on express deals 200%. The express deal I received was $100 and yet on their own site it was $84. However you could only get the quarentee 24 hours before the date of the reservation, my express deal was made at 2 pm the day we were checking in! They couldnt even match their own price. The express deal was for a 3 star hotel but the hotel I was booked into is rated on other sites a 2 star. Never again will I use Priceline.
When ever you see an advertisement for Priceline don't click on it. Hotel rates are always wrong. Rates are too low and when you try to book that particular hotel they charge you a higher rate. Hotel is loosing business because customers are going to the hotel will the lowest rate. This is unacceptable and should be fixed but whenever the staff calls or emails Priceline they are given some BS. Try another site or just use the hotel's website instead of these 3rd party sites. Hotel sites have the same rates and are not false advertising the rates
DO NOT USE PRICELINE. Use any other booking site EXCEPT PRICELINE.
I booked my fiance, my aunt, my Uncle and my own hotel/flight reservations over about 2 weeks ago. Same time and same credit card. Called The hotel the day after booking (So on a Monday), they have ZERO sign of my hotel room but have my Aunt/Uncles. I call Priceline, they said it can take 48 hours. Okay.
Call back Wednesday. STILL NO SIGN OF MY RESERVATION. I call Priceline again. This time they said can take 7 days. Uhhh. Okay.
I call the hotel today. Guess what? STILL NO RESERVATION. Aunt and Uncle's, there. Mine? Nope.
I call Priceline again. I get the closest thing to a manager they would transfer me to and he tells me, they have to resend over all the paperwork and it can take another 48 hours!
Can't get BOTH hotel reservations to the hotel in a timely manner but have ZERO problem running my credit card I see!
Unacceptable! I will MAKE SURE none of the 40-60 guests for my wedding use Priceline. This is my first and LAST time EVER using Priceline.
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! They are scammers. Be very careful if the currency is not showing. Priceline thief's show the price but not anything about currency on some of their pop up sites. What I thought was Canadain turned out to be actually US! My itinerary did not state what currency it was in and I did not find out until after I had gotten my credit card bill which by then it was too late to cancel of course. /the price I ended up paying was a $200 more then what I was expecting and would have not booked it through them if I knew that were the price. Just a way for these scammers to get some extra profit. WATH OUT! Don't let them trick you as well. My credit card will not dispute currency issues and am waiting on an investigation which will take months
To start off the phone number they have for customer service isn't even someone you can physically speak to the only way you can speak to a live representative is through a chat which obviously not the same thing. I had to file several complaints until one of the representative that I chatted with online decided to provide me with a number that I can speak to a live person. I spoke to olga regarding priceline not stating that the rooms are pre paid unless the room states that there is no cancelation which the website or hotel can charge you the full price the time of booking. This is very unacceptable especially with new customers that they are benefiting from getting they cant even provide with all the details of the booking the customer has to basically assume that they will be charged of the booking. Horrible website, if you want to not be informed as to what it is that you're booking and not be able to get in contact with a live person until they decide to provide a valid phone number instead of an automated machine hanging up without resolving anything. Will never book again with this website and will make sure that everyone knows what i went through so they don't have to go through this experience
Please take this in consideration before you purchase a ticket with Priceline. If for some reason you need to make changes to your reservation, they will charge you 3 times the price you purchased the ticket. You can buy the same ticket directly with the air line and they will have the same chip price for you. When you purchase the ticket directly with the air line they will be more flexible with you and they make changes without charging you. Priceline does not help ANY costumer they only care about money. I will NEVER buy anything true them... I lose 5 tickets but they lose a good client.
Don't book anything through them. We booked a vacation to Aruba package and couple days later my vacation was canceled due to Job Situation. I called to cancel trip, they did it but they kept my money. I called back to activate trip and I couldn't. They Actually STOLE my about $2200. 00 earned by hard work. BASTARDS.
We were not provided SHUTTLE to and from the airport. In all the vacation packages we have booked this is always included. If it is NOT... it should be really clear this is NOT AN ALL INCLUSIVE. We Will be SURE TO LET FRIENDS, FAMILY, CO-WORKERS AND ALL BUSINESS ASSOCIATES KNOW... DO NOT USE PRICELINE.COM I will also be posting this information on FACEBOOK, TWITTER, AND ANY OTHER UNIVERSAL MEDIA I CAN TO WARN EVERYONE. When we realized we had been left stranded, we tried calling the numbers provided... however they did not work
My story is too long to explain on here. However, I will say to watch closely at your reservation because they like to switch the dates and then not let you cancel once you see the date is incorrect. We are out over $500 because of their error/purposeful error.
The "random" selection of hotels is misleading. They post that you will get hotels "like" some of the name brand hotels. I didn't. Yesterday in Columbus, Ohio I got some place that was so horrible on the outside that I refused to go inside. The neighborhood was scary. The building itself has deferred maintenance and looked like a motel where homeless or drug addicts live.
When I called them about it, they wanted to reiterate their BS policies, blah, blah. Had no concern for me or my safety, even after I agreed to pay more for a different location.
I was charged $80 because my name was misspelled on my ticket. There are so many other services out there, you would think they would want to keep customers. No wonder they have a low rating.
I booked a hotel online through Priceline. On 3/2/2018 I rented a car and drove from Ohio to Washington DC (6 hours), only to arrive at the hotel and be told that my reservations had been canceled one hour prior (@2:01p). I contacted Priceline, and Francesca told me that I had canceled them on the website- which I did not. According to my Priceline itinerary, the reservations I had made could not be changed or canceled but at 3:20p I received an email from Priceline telling me that my reservations were canceled, no cancellation number was provided. I was left standing in D. C. at the Courtyard Marriott hotel counter, with no reservations, the funds not yet back in my account, and Brenda in Pricelines customer relations telling me that they had left me a voicemail- which was another lie, because there were no unrecognized phone numbers on my phone, nor any voicemails. BEWARE OF PRICELINE, they will cancel your reservations one hour before check-in and if you're lucky they'll leave you a voicemail about it!
Absolute Priceline rip-off. Reserved an Advantage rental car on Priceline at a very low rate. Rental was advertised on Priceline as unlimited mileage. I live in Austin and used the Austin airport facility. I drove to Houston and back over a two day period. Only at the Advantage counter I was told there would be a high mileage charge of $20 per day. This mileage charge made the final cost of the rental more than double the price I paid on Priceline. I complained to Priceline and was referred to read the fine print of the "Important Information" section of the Priceline rental agreement. Hidden away was a statement that local rentals subject to mileage restrictions. Priceline advertises Unlimited Mileage yet allows the car rental agencies they represent to hide their high mileage practices. In my defense, the Advantage website has no mention of high mileage fees. I told the Priceline representative that I am a frequent Priceline customer and that from hereon I would never use Priceline again. The rep couldn't care less and immediately ended my phone call. Buyer beware!
I booked a hotel throw priceline and the company forgot to add one person to my reservation. My request was for 3 people and when priceline sent the confirmation it was just for two people. Priceline informed me that they would send a fax to correct the number of guest on the reservation what was never made. Luckly the room was for 4 people. Also I was charged a higherst fee at the hotel because priceline can not guarantee the hotel rates. Be careful when booking a hotel throw priceline website they will charge you credit card and than hotel will informed you that is a different fee to be pay at the check in. Priceline can not be trusted and the company will not refund your money at all.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
