Priceline best price guarantee policy is full of misleading statements and lies. Don't use Priceline, you will fall in their trap.

Their customer service should be on a sitcom, I don't know how people that are so stupid can act so arrogant.

I reserved a car with Hertz through Priceline (never again) for one week, but finished my business in four days (this happens some times, folks) and returned the car. I was still charged for a 7-day rental because, as Priceline stated, "you need to talk to Hertz." When I called Hertz, they told me that I "need to talk to Priceline." After a cat-and-mouse chase to find the answer, I finally get a rep, who doesn't speak English, who barely tells me that I initially rented the car for a "non-refundable 7 day period." Huh...? I called Hertz back, and they laughed, "I know, we get complaints like this all the time. People looking for a car rental should ALWAYS book directly with the car rental company, and then added, "we could have offered the same rate or better in 99% of the cases... and you would have been charged only for the time used - whether or not you returned it early." LESSON LEARNED, PEOPLE: NEVER - EVER - RENT A CAR THROUGH PRICELINE! In fact, I'll never use Priceline again! I was being generous by giving them One Star!

Priceline is a thief
March 16, 2024

I booked a rental car last Monday, March 11th, 2024. It didn't tell me I was booking through Priceline. It booked through some other 3rd party. But it ended up being Priceline. It doesn't state that the license much match the payment credit card and prepaid cards are not acceptable. After you book it, it tells you some of this but it's in fine print that is hard to read. Especially for a 65 year old. So, I get to Budget to pick the car up I paid to rent for a week. Over $200. Well, Budget wouldn't rent the car to me because I listed my son as the driver but paid for the rental with my card. That's the second time Priceline has taken my money without me being able to check in my room that I paid for for a week, over $300, and now this. Everything booked through Priceline --non-refundable, non-refundable. That's a damn shame. If you like one wrong mistake when booking with them you are screwed and cannot change the booking or get your money back. That is a damn shame. That's how they do business. If you make a mistake using Priceline, you can forget it. Not to mention, if you book through them, hotels and car rentals have their own rules and they both make it impossible for you to fulfill your reservation. If you ask me, Priceline is a thief and should be prosecuted. They know what they're doing, and it's a shame. Everything you do through Priceline, non-refundable. SMH. That's $600 Priceline has jacked me for. Never again and neither will my family or friends use this scamming company!

I recently used Priceline name your own Price. Not completely understanding the disclosers I had by accident booked a hotel with them. I had assumed you would get a final say before they would book you. They had booked me in North Long Beach. If you are unaware North Long Beach is notorious for being one of these worst neighborhoods you can go to in Los Angeles. It's filled with extremely dangerous gangs such as the crypts, bloods, and MS13. It's very high in prostitution trafficking as well as drugs. It's in creditably dangerous for anyone to go to. Most locals will not even drive down there. If you were to Google. Long Beach Boulevard in the 2nd result will come up with Long Beach Boulevard prostitutes. Now I had booked this 7 months in advance. As soon as I noticed that it booked me in a hotel I did not completely agree with going to and took my money I called them not even 5 minutes later after this happen. They would not help me whatsoever and told me there is nothing they could do. They felt it was more important to them not to help me then their customers safety. I tried exchanging it with a different hotel and would be whiling to pay extra money. I was whiling to do anything but they refused anything. I would never go through this company you don't get a final say and you do not know exactly where this hotel is located or the conditions of the hotel before you get a final say in anything once you search and it books you it's all over.

The best thing for anyone to do is use a different site for travel! BOOKIT.COM is one of the best. I used priceline.com to make a flight reservation, my offer for a price was accepted for bidding and 1wk later there was a $40 difference and also the flight has no layover & also arrives 5hrs earlier than my current resevation. Priceline would not reimburse me the diff nor would they change ANYTHING! I also asked if they could change the ticket in my fiancee's name because he decided to travel along. They refused saying it was a security issue blah, blah, blah. I could go on! Very unhappy customer I should have know better from previous trips but thought I was getting a break at the time. Please use BOOKIT, KAYAK, HOTWIRE OR ANYOTHERS! NO PRICELINE.COM YOU'LL BE SORRY!

I made a reservation which was fine, but then later in the day I discovered I could not go that day. I went to the website and canceled on the web site the same day I made the reservation. Got a cancellation number. A couple days later, I deceided to check on the reservation. Good thing I did. There was not a record of the cancellation. I would have been charged for the room, even though I had cancellation confirmation numbers from that day. I once again cancelled the reservation and that time I received an email. From them. This is not cool. Now I tried to call them and they are closed Sundays and Mondays and they're office hours are not convenient to me.
I will not use this website again. I had a problem finding the contact us link. I emaiiled them and I was at this point ignored totally. WARNING DO NOT TRY TO CANCEL RESERVATIONS WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY!
THEY HAVE YET TO REFUND MY MONEY.!

Fraud no refund
March 16, 2023

Placed a one-day car rental reservation online through Priceline to pick up a car at the Vancouver BC Canada airport, and was charged $47.88. One hour later I found out that the ad was misleading, the car was not located at the airport for pickup but was located several miles away; that doesn't work for me. I immediately cancelled the reservation and was sent an email verifying the cancellation and stated that a refund would be issued within one business day. That never happened.

Over the past 2.5 weeks, I called my bank several times to verify that no refund was received, and I contacted Priceline several times, I was told that it's my bank's fault and I need to deal with them. I called Priceline again today, and was told that the only way they would refund my money is if I agreed to do a 3-way call to my bank with Priceline listening in on the phone call verifying the bank never received the refund. How gross and unprofessional is that? Probably even illegal! Anyways, they got that verification from my bank. Then Priceline told me that they would escalate my issue to their accounting department who will investigate? Sure thing…WHAT THAT REALLY MEANS IS THAT THEY STOLE MY MONEY AND HAVE NO INTENTION OF EVER REFUNDING IT! BEWARE! DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY. Thank g-d I only lost $50.00, it could have been worse because after researching online, I learned that tens of thousands of consumers have also been robbed by Priceline…for a lot more money than $50.00.

Worst experience ever
September 3, 2019

If I could give a 0 I would. I had a problem with the hotel so the hotel wanted to give a $25 refund. So I get no response and call back spoke to a Mallory who refused to let me talk to a supervisor. I call back to speak to a representative I'm on hold for at least 20 minutes while she "calls the hotel" for her to come back and say she cant call the hotel shes not allowed so I waited for no reason pretty much. Then I talk to a team lead who I told my problems he sent a email about the lady who refused a supervisor and then read the notes but told me they couldnt see a refund on the card and they had already called so the hotel needs to call back. I speak with the supervisor Larry at the comfort inn and he tells me that when they called they never left a call back number so he went ahead and issued a refund to their prepaid card for $25 + tax which is $26.88 he'd like us to be refunded. I call again and am told that they still will not give me a refund even though the hotel already sent them money that is for us. I am 100% flabbergasted by the service and the fact youthey refuse to send us our money back. This is the worst service I've ever recieved and I'll never use Priceline again.
