Being a very seasoned traveler living in SE Asia for many years, I have utilized many accommodation booking platforms, and I have never experienced such failure as I have with the booking platform Prestigia.
As per the many negative reviews on the internet describing Prestigia failures, I encourage all potential travelers to carefully review and make up their own mind: I wish I had read the Prestigia reviews prior to doing any business with them. You will see that the dissatisfaction percentage is 12.5%. That should speak louder than all the fluffy review commentary which I suspect is a little creative.
I booked and paid for two rooms at the time of booking 1 month out from travel. Received immediate confirmation of accommodation booking from Prestigia. Three weeks later (one week prior to my trip) Prestigia advised that only one room booking is available. Their solution was to have my travel companion reside in another hotel a distance away and if this was not suitable, they would gladly refund that room booking. I suggested that Prestigia utilize some of their professional reach as an accommodation booking platform to book two new rooms in a suitable hotel. Prestigia offered a suitable hotel with two rooms which I agreed to, though they failed to secure the rooms in time. Prestigia then offered a below par hotel which I declined. This was Prestigia's threshold for resolve and now their offer was to accept a full refund, which if going by other reviews – people have been waiting 2-3 months for refunds. I could not risk waiting that long for funds to return and then rebook two more rooms at another expense prior to travel. I was contacted by one of their staff as they were unable or willing to rectify the situation appropriately. So, I needed to agree to keep one booking at the original hotel and collect a refund for the other room. The only positive experience was that I got a refund for the one failed booking in only 3 days from the conversation after I pointed out to them my expectations of a refund and their prior negative review history for return of funds.
Essentially Prestigia fails to take any accountability and pass blame on the hotel for any shortfalls. While I accept there can be failures in processes, regardless of who's fault. I expect solutions. Prestigia clearly have no reach at all in the accommodation booking space to remunerate for their failures. This was very clear through their inability and insincere efforts to find suitable accommodation solutions. You must ask yourself, how can an accommodation booking platform be so bad.
Prestigia has a dedicated relocations team, they are clearly proficient in responding to clients with a soft apologetic communication style when they fail. They are an accommodation booking platform out of their depth like a toothless tiger, content with 12.5% dissatisfaction rate.
Answer: I doubt it. I didn't get a refund when I cancelled way before the deadline for free cancellation. I have heard from no one, no one answers the phone. I was on hold for an hour and thirty minutes as " the next one in line" I gave up. Don't waste your time, energy or money on this reservation site.
