I worked as an Italian language tutor on Preply for over a year, delivering more than 1,400 lessons and receiving over 100 positive reviews from students.In May 2025, my account was suddenly suspended with no clear explanation or proof of any misconduct. Despite my repeated attempts to obtain clarification and transparency, I was denied any opportunity to defend myself. I have always acted with the highest level of professionalism, respect, and commitment towards my students.What I experienced was a unilateral and opaque decision, based on vague accusations and without any verified evidence. I requested access to my data (GDPR), and the internal notes I received showed inconsistencies and even cases where students' reports were marked as false by the platform itself.Unfortunately, Preply has not demonstrated any willingness to review the case fairly or engage in meaningful dialogue. I believe no platform should treat educators—who contribute daily to its value—with such lack of transparency and human consideration. I hope this review helps other tutors understand the risks of working on this platform and encourages Preply to adopt more ethical and accountable practices in the future.
