Terrible
October 3, 2018

We ordered a bunk bed and matching dresser. Upon arrival, the bunk bed was badly damaged and the dresser was wrong. The dresser delivered was from West Elm. Both items were returned with the promise of an expedited delivery of a new bunk bed and correct dresser. After waiting 3 weeks, a very unhelpful driver arrived with a bunk bed and dresser. However, the bunk bed had no slats making it unusable. We tried to call customer service to determine how long it will take to deliver bed slats but the driver insisted he didn't have time to wait. All items were returned and we are still waiting for our full refund.

I ordered a "boppy" pillow and a monogrammed linen cover for it. I paid $6 per item ($12) for gift wrapping with a message. The linen cover was on back order so I received it two weeks later then the pillow. When I received the pillow, it was not gift wrapped. After waiting 20 for a customer service rep because they were experiencing unusually heavy call volume, the rep credited me back with the $6 for the pillow gift wrapping. Today the linen cover arrived, and again, no gift wrapping. I have now been on hold for over 20 minutes due to unusually heavy call volume. I want to get my $6 back, but what about the time I have spent on hold, the time I am going to spend going to buy wrapping paper, bows, tape, etc.? Does Pottery Barn have any quality control? Does anyone review an order before it goes out? It does not appear so. If you do not have an incredible amount of time and patience, I would not recommend Pottery Barn Kids. This has been a totally frustrating experience.

Worst customer service EVER
September 23, 2019

If I could give 0 stars I would. Waited almost 2 months for bed I ordered. Finally delivered and delivered wrong bed. Then the wanted me to wait another 2 weeks for correct bed. Waited on hold for over 40 minutes to talk to manager several times and would get hung up on. When I did talk to them they told me they would look into issue with delivery department and call me back. Still waiting for anyone to call me back. Finally told them to keep bed and went to another store. Don't ever use these people!

The product description says the spencer bento fits in a Mackenzie classic lunch bag but it does not! It is SO HARD to get it in the lunchbox. It just doesn't fit. I'm soooo disappointed as I bought this lunch bag specifically for the bento that my daughter loves to take her lunch in. You either need to make it so these items actually work together or don't say that they do!

After waiting five weeks to receive a thank you note, I called the recipient of my gift and was told they received the gift card but there was no message or name included. If I hadn't called they would never have known I sent this gift. The only thing you managed to do right was charge my credit card. No problems there!

Worst customer service
November 8, 2019

Called customer service to cancel my order and i spent over 3hours on the phone trying to get my order canceled, they kept transferring me from one person to another. They have no respect for their customers and are racist too. Stay away from this store.

I ordered a new bed for mt daughters birthday. Estimates Date was June 10-24 before i placed the order and also after the order was placed and a few days later. I have checked multiple times. I checked again today (May 31st) and suddenly saw October 24 as the new date. I couldn't believe it! Customer service told me that is indeed the case. They can't do anything. I asked to cancel the order, they did. Tried to put in an order right after for the same furniture, guess what? Says June 24! You would expect they would be honest.

No customer service

Like so many people posting, I ordered a bed for my daughter and it was delivered. I also ordered a back ordered nightstand as a separate order because I did not want to have to wait until the back ordered item came in to get the bed (the website said they would deliver once everything was available for delivery). After I ordered the items, I too got a 25% discount coupon via email. I asked them if they would adjust the price on the exact items I had purchased and they refused. If I wanted to return both items and repurchase then they would, supposedly, but who knows if they would have come through in the end. All the customer service reps kept saying, "thank you for your understanding on this matter." blah, blah, blah. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service and outrageously expensive to bat. I would never recommend PBK or PB (as I am sure their policy is the same). They definitely lost a customer here and I hope people heed the warnings posted here. What a joke of a company.

Customer service is horrible and product never made it. Try calling customer service - you are on hold and hold and hold and hold and hold... it never ends. They know nothing and do not answer emails in their "two day period."

Feel cheated
November 26, 2022

Ordered a unicorn stuffed animal for a child in the hospital! Paid $69 and the next day was $55. Called customer service which told me "we dont make price adustments. Product wasnt even delived yet, and they wouldnt do anything to adjust! I will never do business with them again, and i will advice anyone buying from them, be careful, they are out to get you!

They have the ability but won't give you the on-line sales price even though you place the order within a few days and have not even received the items. Shopping on-line specifically due to CV19. Chippy and poor business practices. Bye PB!

It took Pottery Barn Kids 9 months to complete my Charlie crib and conversion kit order! They originally came with "White Glove" service and set up the crib incorrectly, even opening the conversion kits and using these parts to assemble the baby crib! Then, they didn't want to replace the conversion kits that were all mixed up by them alone - they just wanted to reassemble the crib. When they finally returned to reassemble the crib, we found it was defective because the WOOD SPLINTERED and could hurt a child or anyone! Then they took months to get me a new crib and several months after that to agree to replace the conversion sets they ruined. Also, they wound up cancelling delivery of the sets numerous times. The whole ordeal was a disaster. DO NOT do business with them!

Scammed Again
July 25, 2019

I chose the regular Avengers water bottle and when I personalized it the website switched the item to a large water bottle. I noticed the change after I had submitted my order and I called to have the order corrected. The customer service representative said that she corrected the order. Yesterday I received the large water bottle that I did not want. My son is going into kindergarten, the large water bottle is too big for him. Since my item is personalized they will not do anything to correct the issue. Since they did the same thing with the backpack that I ordered, and most likely the lunch box that has yet to be delivered, they have scammed me out of nearly a hundred dollars. I am a single mother and a disabled veteran, I wanted to get something nice for my son so he would be excited to start school, and now I have to purchase all of these items again from a different company. This was my first time ordering from Pottery Barn Kids, and it will be my last.

I placed an online order yesterday. It was a customized item, which the item description said it took 1-3 weeks. It would just be on time for a friend's birthday. When I received the order confirmation in the email, it said that the item should be here in four weeks. When I called customer service today, they couldn't tell me when the item would be arrive and they can't cancel the order. They acknowledged that the information listed was inaccurate yet I was told there is nothing they can do for me. Since it is customized, I can't return it either after I receive it. I am super disappointed.

That's literally all that can be said. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with in my life. First of all, when they transfer you, the line always gets dropped. I called and called again, and guess what? Dropped. Second of all, I was promised a credit, and never received it as promised. This is the worst customer service I've literally ever dealt with. I will never buy something from them again, and will make sure not to have friends buy from them. I'd like to also note, the Stonebriar mall is the worst of them all, not only do I get crappy customer service on the phone with their main line, and online orders, but the people at the store namly Aaron, don't deal with her ever.

We ordered a slipcover for my granddaughter that when it finally came in, (it was embroidered with her name) the zipper was stubborn and an ill fitting zipper. This became apparent when it was necessary to spot treat a stain and remove it to clean... in retrospect, we should have sent it back immediately and asked for a new one since a zipper doesn't get any better with use. When we finally had to remove it to clean, the zipper finally broke. The customer service was TERRIBLE and basically completely unhelpful and not willing to stand by their product. We asked for them to simply replace the zipper as we love the chair but they said no they don't do that. They offered 10% off which wouldn't even cover the shipping cost. They are great when you purchase but terrible when there's a problem. Don't bother as the quality isn't good for what you pay for and they certainly will NOT stand by their product!

We bought two toddler mattress covers( along with many other things aprox $1500) about a year ago and they were wondeful! We recently ordered another due to one rippping. The new one they sent ($59) is not close to the quality of the original ones we got It's not as fluffy and just a totally different item. We called and were told this is the one they are offering now. Usually when an item is replaced it's for the better. Very disappointed in Pottery Barn and will hesitate to order anything else

Bad customer service!
August 12, 2020

I ordered a backpack for my little girl over a month ago. I was emailed saying it would ship around August 6-10th. I checked today 8/12 and it's saying it will ship August 14-18. So now I'm going to have to buy another backpack for my KINDERGARTEN baby until this one gets here. I called customer service and the girl was not super friendly and said she wasn't sure what was going on but it would take a couple days to figure it out. She said she could cancel my order or give me a $5 merchandise credit because "your order was only $35 so if I gave you anymore the backpack would be free." Uhhhhh what?! That makes zero sense! I will NEVER buy anything from here again! Terrible customer service and even worse communication!

I order a back pack and lunch box for the beginning of the school year. They made a back order and the order going to arrive on October 10.
2 months after school started.
The first and last time I'll buy at pottery barn.
Plus wasn't cheap.

I spent over $400 on the Emily & Meritt Circus Strip Rug and the loops were pulling withing a few weeks and this is NOT a high traffic area at all. I complained, got a new one and it's doing the same thing. RIDICULOUS. I just ordered a desk on Sept 1 and was told it was in stock and would be delivered in a few days. It's now Sept 26 and I'm being it won't be delivered until Oct 4th. That's after I sat on hold for 1 hour yesterday and for 44 minutes today while the shipping/delivery facility bounced me back and forth trying to figure out if it was in or not. Oh and the $200 chair I bought to go with the desk --already won't go up and down but I cannot even stomach the thought of having to explain that one. I'll need a few more days before I make that call. Bottom line -- it should not be this expensive and time consuming to shop only to receive horrible quality and customer service!
