An excellent experience, thank you to Mike for the great briefing and assisting us on the leg to Hamilton Island. The boat set up and advice on where to visit on our sailing adventure was excellent. We started out as six novices and after just five days on the water we are feeling pretty confident with basic sailing and would love to do it again. On Southern Man sailing around the Whitsundays was Paradise. Marks briefing was perfect to help us feel ready for our 5 days adventure. Southern Man had every thing we needed for the perfect relaxing holiday. Sitting on the comfortable outdoor chairs watching the sun rise & set, gazing at the clear night sky with beautiful stars was amazing. Everything was perfect, from the boat, Southern Man, to the weather, to the fishing, snorkelling, communications, etc etc.

What a fantastic family holiday! The Portlands Road Team have been amazing from the time we enquired and booked to the time we got off the boat. Deano was our guide that showed us through the boat and checked in with us morning and night. What a legend that guy is! Nothing was too hard for him and he made the trip extra special. Lucy is an amazing boat for sailing or cruising. Its a house on water with all the bells and whistles you need. We visited some of the most beautiful locations (thanks to Deano for the tips) and enjoyed some of the best snorkelling and fishing while relaxing and taking in the scenery and sunsets.Its a must do for anyone that loves the sense of adventure.We will be back for sure.

One of the best holidays Ive ever been on. The boat was surprisingly spacious and well equipped, great island walks and the beaches were breathtakingly beautiful. An iconic adventure. We were well briefed and knew where and where not to swim, snorkel and dive. Definitely one to add to your bucket list.

What a magical experience it was, sailing the beautiful Whitsunday Islands with Portland Roads! The boat was luxurious, comfortable and very well equipped. Visiting the cave in Nara Inlet (Hook Island) allowed us to trace the footsteps of the Ngaro people, which I found very spiritual. Snorkeling with the Maori Wrasse was mesmerising (a real 'bucket list' activity). Mooring overnight in secluded and tranquil bays, toasting the sunset after the day's adventures are memories I will cherish always. John's knowledge about the area, including the local Indigenous history and culture, meant that I not only had tons of fun but also learnt a lot along the way. Thank you to John and the rest of the team, who went above and beyond to make sure our holiday was one we will never forget. I highly recommend Portland Roads. While this was my first time sailing with them, it will certainly not be my last!

Great experience on the 42 foot 16 tonne Lagoon Sail Catamaran œLucy. The key is their front man Deano who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of sailing the Whitsundays and is a full of fun character to boot. Available all hours by satellite phone if issues of problems arise. Highly recommended.

To start our story, we sought permission to Sail in the Wake and Walk in the Footsteps of our First Nations people.
We now respectfully interpret 60,000 years of mainland Yuwibara, Koinmerburra, Barara Barna, Wiri, Juru and Gia history, Along with 9,000 years of Ngaro island and seafaring stories.
