Portland Roads

We recently shared Portland Roads with 3 other couples. She is a very spacious and comfortable catamaran for a group of that size. Lots of refrigeration and freezer space and all of our food stayed frozen for the entire 8 days. Loved the indoor and outdoor tables and the lovely seats up the bow. Best of all was our briefer Mike. He had all the answers and went out of his way to help us out when needed. Recommend both the catamaran and the company for anyone considering their dream trip to the Whitsundays.

Wow we had such a superb family holiday. Our two family groups met up so there was 7 of us in total. Our briefer Mike helped guide us to the best bays for overnights as the winds changed and we enjoyed our twice daily interactions with him. Our favourite spots were Blue Pearl Bay and Butterfly Bay. Other highlights included fabulous sailing in 20 knot winds and patting bat fish (huge angel fish) off the back of the yacht. No stingers, sharks or cyclones so a perfect Christmas/New Year holiday thank you Portland Roads.

We have just returned from a fantastic 5 nights aboard the Lucy. Absolutely fantastic experience. Deano ran through everything after boarding and made sure we were familiar with the operation of the vessel. He was always contactable for suggestions as to route and other issues that cropped up. The Lucy has everything you could need for a comfortable cruise, and each bedroom with its own bathroom was an appreciated luxury! Highly recommend taking up the early boarding and late departure options - the facilities at the marina were very welcome after our cruise, and we didnt feel time pressure to board and unpack. Can also recommend Fishi for seafood - excellent service and advice, and they delivered to the marina the morning of our departure. As two families with young children and minimal boating experience - we couldnt fault Portland Roads and the Lucy. We are already thinking about another trip... Thanks again.

Seriously cannot recommend this company enough. Had an unforgettable time sailing around the Whitsundays on Portland Roads. Truly a beautiful boat and experience for myself and my friends. Super spacious and clean, felt like a home away from home. Not to mention John and Mike are just bloody legends. Theyre so knowledgeable and helpful, completely takes the ease off being an amateur. A beyond perfect getaway was had. Thank you Portland Roads.

What a great boat is the lagoon 380, we had *** for twenty nights. Shes easy to pilot, having good vision of the mooring bouys makes picking them up reasonably easy, and she handles rough seas incredibly well. We were sailing around the effects of cyclone Owen and had some testing weather, ruby Sunday felt safe all the way through, we just had to hang on, what a buzz.

Shes a bit slower than the bigger lagoons with just the motors going, however she gives them a run for their money under sail.

From the first contact with Portland Roads to the completion of the boarding process everything was easy and well organized. Due West performed faultlessly and was extremely well equipped and comfortable. We were lucky enough to see Humpback Whales along with Green Turtles and so many fish it was hard to remember them all. The Coral we saw while snorkeling on the reefs was unforgettable. At the end of each day as I was watching the sunset I thought to myself 'does it get any better than this', only to find out the next day was actually better. Thanks Portland Roads and we can't wait to spend another week sailing the Whitsundays with you. Mark.

ABSOLUTELY LUXURIOUS! The booking process was easy and the pre-trip correspondence was reassuring. We stayed on Portland Roads and the boat was immaculate. Comfortable beds, modern kitchen, spacious living areas. It was well-equiped with everything we could need throughout our trip.The staff were enthusiastic and professional. They answered every single query and recommended us to the best places for fishing, snorkeling, swimming and fish sighting. Their knowledge of the area made our trip even better! Wow. I cant even begin to put into words how amazing our trip on ˜Portland Roads boat was. The sunsets. The wildlife. The luxurious boat. The food! The Island exploring. The sailing! Did I mention Im a sailor now?(haha) The team at Portland Roads put all our fears to rest and made all our wildest dreams come true. With their environmental consciousness and connection to the local indigenous community we felt this experience aligned perfectly with our moral and ethical compass. Linda and I had the most enjoyable experience sailing the Whitsundays on-board the LUCY. This certainly was one of the best holidays we have had, which is quite a statement as we have travelled most of the world. What made our holiday extra special was having John Linton as our skipper. He took us to places we would have never seen if we sailed ourselves plus we enjoyed his humour and the training he provided not only in sailing but also snookering and cooking.
