JUST AWESOME! I had so much fun... and with perfect weather gifting us with a good breeze, we had the sails up and enjoyed the tranquility that only the ocean can give. The cabins were roomy and comfortable and there is nothing as peaceful as being in a calm anchorage at night looking out of my hatch at the stars and feeling a world away from everyone. The food was devine. Fresh fruit, real coffee and restaurant style food made this trip unbeatable. Everyone was engaging and couldn't do enough to make my trip so comfortable and so much fun. I will do it again and recommend this charter as a great way to visit the Whitsunday Islands.
Just back from 5 nights and can only sing the highest praises for Portland Roads. We took a Luxury Escape deal on the Due West and was briefed by ***. The boat has EVERYTHING you need and all to the highest of standards. *** tells you how to handle things, where the best places are to visit, to swim and snorkel. If you follow instructions you can't go wrong. We'll be back for sure.
After 32 years of wanting to sail around the Whitsundays, and never having sailed before, I have finally just had one of the best experiences sailing in and around the Whitsundays with my husband and good friends. What a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable and fun time we had on the boat - and a big part of that was the excellent back up and support from John and his team at Portland Roads. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Had an amazing holiday with the family on the Ruby Sunday. Boat is perfectly set up so you can easily travel around the gorgeous Whitsundays. ***s comprehensive briefing session before we left made us feel comfortable and at ease with the workings of the boat.
We found that everything on our boat worked perfectly as described & that our tender motor started first pull every time.

We had such a brilliant trip. The boat was comfortable and more spacious that we'd imagined. The scenery was breathtaking and the Whitsunday beeches rival any in the world. We were given clear instructions about where and where not to swim, where to find the best snorkelling, turtle spotting and hiking tracks. We felt very safe. One for the bucket-list.

Everything! Very comfortable and well fitted out. Travelled beautifully even in fairly rough conditions. What a way to spend a week! Our motto was œanother day, another bay and each bay was unique and beautiful. Portland Roads has everything on board we needed and was extremely comfortable. We sailed for 3 nights on Due West and if youre going to explore the beauty of the Whitsunday Islands then sailing on your own boat is definitely the way to do it. *** took the time to find out what we wanted from the holiday and then made it happen. The bays and inlets we visited were stunning and with hardly anyone else around we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. This really was a trip of a lifetime and made so much more enjoyable because of ***s knowledge and passion for what he does. On top of it all the boat was stylish, luxurious and really comfortable. Thanks so much for a magical adventure and yes I would love to do it again.
This was such an amazing experience, I would highly recommend it. Deano gave our group a very detailed and informative session before we set sail. Lucy is a beautiful catamaran that you'd be crazy not to sail the whitsundays around on, she had everything we required to be comfortable for our journey on the sea. Get your friends together and sail the Whitsundays on Lucy, you wont regret it.
An absolute dream
Sailing on Portland Roads was absolutely brilliant. It is an experience that should be on your bucket list for it's beauty, unique getaway and accessible to all ages. Never having slept on a boat before, I was a little uncertain but it was fabulous. The serenity and relaxation that flows from being on the water is second to none. The crew working with Portland Roads and the fleet are ultimate professionals with the safety of guests equalled only by their respect and care of the reef and it's creatures. I cannot recommend the experience more highly. Amazing location, breathtaking experience and absolute professionals taking care of you and guiding you along the way.
Cruising on *** is one of the most awesome ways to spend time wth friends and visit the best scenic and snorkling spots on the Whitsunday's that you would never be able to do any other way. *** who did our daily briefing gave great advice about where to go to find the hidden jewels that most would never even know were there. Definately put a week on *** on the bucket list.
Never, never, never could l have believed that something like this was possible. Doing it with a Skipper is one thing; but they let you take out these beautiful boats on your own - And the experience is amazing! We sailed on Portland Roads and put in an offer to buy her on our return. WE LOVE HER...

Recently sailed for 6 days on Due West and had a fabulous time. Although we had a hiccup on the first day with the anchor wench, Deano was quick to have this fixed. The boat was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this company to anyone!
I cannot believe how brilliant this holiday was. Even the booking process with *** was so much fun. Then we met *** He is such a great guy and handled our rookie crew with care and laughter during the briefing. He is so passionate about his boats and the Great Barrier Reef.

To start our story, we sought permission to Sail in the Wake and Walk in the Footsteps of our First Nations people.
We now respectfully interpret 60,000 years of mainland Yuwibara, Koinmerburra, Barara Barna, Wiri, Juru and Gia history, Along with 9,000 years of Ngaro island and seafaring stories.
