What reviewers want you to know

Positive highlights

  • The cool thing is that they actually know plumbing and aren't some horribly ignorant customer service-type company.
  • We can no longer find it at Lowe's or Home Depot online (with Covid, we are trying not to go personally to places).

Critical highlights

  • After 2 calls to plumbing supply and my refusal to pay a 30% restocking fee they agreed to let me send it back.

Found obsolete parts for our Eljer toilet on their site. The navigation to finding those parts was very simple, easy to read diagrams with dimensions made selection a breeze. I'm in NC, ordered on Monday & received from California on Friday - exactly as ordered! Even the color of new toilet seat matched a 20 year old tank. Thank you - will recommend & use again if plumbing supplies are needed!

We paid for two day shipping - $25 and 6 days later = nothing. They won't answer their phone and you can't leave a message. Emails are unanswered. Definitely something bad happening with this place.

I have Price Pfister faucets in metals and styles which have been discontinued. Recently the kitchen sink sprayer broke-I should have contacted Price-Pfister since I knew their products were lifetime guaranteed, but knowing my style was not sold in stores I ordered two parts from Plumbing Supply. Com-I only needed one-I tried to return the other one but they said I'd need " their code" first-which they would send to me later and I would need original packaging -I saved it all-but never sent a code or anything! Today I got an email that my return time had expired-so I'm stuck with a part I hope I never need-the cost was about $100 for this aggravation and ripoff-you've been warned! Pay attention!

Tip for consumers:
I could have gotten all I needed free from Price Pfister if I had known they keep parts from discontinued styles-in my opinion a decent company would have pointed me in that direction-first! Price Pfister has replaced items which have broken before for free-great company

Products used:
There was a restocking fee so either way I would have lost money

I purchased an air gap that was expensive - advertised as stainless steel but did not match my stainless steel sink, faucet, etc. Furthermore, the air gap cap was too tight to fit on the tubing without undue force. I returned the product and of course, was shown that the cap could be forced onto the tubing. I was charged restocking fee and postage. I would not recommend this company.

I will start first by saying I never leave reviews, let alone bad ones but I felt I needed to address this.
Purchased a $600 faucet from plumbingsupply.com that we really stretched to afford. Turns out, 3 months later our contractor finally installs the sink which is wrong but it is fully tiled in now... And the faucet we purchased will not fit. I had a conversation with Michael the co-ceo of plumbing.com and they mentioned they will not take a return because it is not their policy after 30 days. Is plumbing supply.com wrong? No. Was it bad service? Not really, got the product two weeks after I ordered it.
So why two stars? I own a business as well and these last two years have been hell on small businesses, ours included. We have rules but we've attempted to be flexible with people due to the situation. We've returned thousands to customers during this time... That's just what you do because our attitude is we're all in it together, everyone is hurting.
I asked for a courtesy, an accommodation so I wouldn't be on the hook for a $600 faucet that I couldn't use. When I spoke with michael, he mentioned we would get stuck with it and what are we going to do with it? I then reached out to Strom, the manufacturer and they said they would be happy to take the return it just had to be initiated from plumbing supply.com. When I mentioned this to Michael via email, he basically ended the interchange with "we are not taking the faucet back" and "any further communication is useless"
So, after a long-winded review, is plumbing supply.com in the wrong? Technically no it's just very poor service practice to not at least ATTEMPT to accommodate special situations with customers.

I recently ordered a replacement toilet seat for my toto toilet and paid the exorbitant amount of 109.00$. I received it and it didn't fit. After 2 calls to plumbing supply and my refusal to pay a 30% restocking fee they agreed to let me send it back. The cost of UPS shipping was 42.00$. UPS suggested I ask them to issue a return label because their rate would be less and I pay for the label. They refused to do this because, "it wasn't our fault." Why would I or anyone buy from this company again. I am paying 42.00$ for absolutely nothing, a total scam.

Stefani Y. – PlumbingSupply Rep

Hello,
We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with your interaction with our company.
However, we wanted to address a couple of things about your statement:
The "replacement seat" you refer to was actually a replacement seat lid for a high-end bidet toilet - a Neorest 500 - therefore, the price is going to be a bit higher than a regular toilet seat/lid as it is not a run-of-the-mill item.
The seat lid "didn't fit" because it is for a Neorest 500 - not the G500 you stated you have after you received it; the G500 is a Washlet seat (which can be placed on most manufacturers' toilets) - not a Neorest seat (which is only for the Neorest) - so they are not compatible (confirmed by a Toto tech support representative).
We had asked you to send us pictures of what you have and what you received so we could investigate why it didn't fit (we typically assume the customer has ordered correctly until proven otherwise); you elected not to provide that information and instead contacted Toto yourself - which is fine, but does not help determine why the item you ordered from us didn't work for you.
When we contacted Toto and found out that an entirely different lid is used on the G500 Washlet, we determined that this is why you did not wish to provide the information we requested.
Because the seat was ordered incorrectly, it is our standard policy to have the customer return it at their expense, and a restocking fee would apply; in your case, due to your strongly indicated dissatisfaction, we waived the restocking fee as a courtesy.
In most cases, the shipping amount we charge at purchase is well below what the carrier would actually charge, and when we make a mistake, we are more than happy to send a return shipping label; however, when we ship exactly what was ordered, it is a fair requirement to place that responsibility on the customer.
We hope this information is helpful, and provides a clearer understanding of the issues you have mentioned.

Nice online shopping website. Lower cost shipping is very slow... 1 week.
Order arrived incomplete on a Sat. When customer service opened on Mon a new invoice was quickly generated... no extra costs. But, a 1 weekend job is now going to be at least 2 weekends. Quality control in shipping is badly needed. Will not be my 1st choice in future.

I ordered from Plumbing Supply for a bathroom remodel. I received a telephone call from them indicating the color I selected would not match the new faucets. They immediately canceled the custom order and refunded my money.
I have ordered again from them, immediate shipment. Excellent service.

Bought 2 soft toilet seats that did not have brand name and realized that the $69 each could have been purchased at home Depot or Lowes for $35. $15 dollar shipping on top of that and still waited a week for arrival. A representative replied with a lengthy note about small business over head versus big box stores, etc and offered a refund minus a hefty restocking fee plus shipping at my expense.
As as I try to patronize small businesses instead of Amazon, experiences like these make me wonder if it's even a worthwhile cause.

I ordered a part from Plumbing Supply. It was shipped promptly but was 'lost' by the USPS.
Brenda from Plumbing realized it. She contacted me and promptly shipped a replacement. Then she followed up on it to make sure I received it and was satisfied.
She (and the company) went the extra mile. Very rare these days.
Great job!

Bought drain kit for Americh tub. Before we could get the tub installed, we had a complete sewer line collapse and replacement. So after 5 months, had a plumber to come install the drain. Too bad for me. The kit had mis-sized parts and was unusable. Was told "I should have inspected and noticed the issue when I received the kit." Now, I am out $160 for the kit and shipping to return it. Plus, some snotty attitude about how they could not resell it. Resell it to some other poor customer who would be out a plumber visit with a faulty kit.

Stay away!

Toilet chain broke on our 40+ year old toilet. We can no longer find it at Lowe's or Home Depot online (with Covid, we are trying not to go personally to places). I did a search for them online and found where someone else with an old toilet had contacted American Standard for hard-to find parts they needed, and American Standard recommended PlumbingSupply.com to that customer. So we decided to order from them -- they had the toilet chains and we got a spare handle since ours is beginning to act up a little. We ordered online on a Friday morning (after midnight Thursday night) and received the complete order on the following Monday. Very pleased with online experience and items received and fast shipping.

Ordered a toilet seat, but we had the color wrong. My customer noticed after opening the box. We inspected the seat thoroughly to check that it was in perfect condition before sending it back. PlumbingSupply.com then denied the return and claimed that the seat had "hair, scratches and scuffs." Then they want to charge us $14 to have the seat returned to us so we can cut our losses.
Never order from them!

I had a plumbing issue, needed a particular part, none of the big box stores carried it and neither did my hardware stores, (a male clean out adapter plug with screw on cap/cover piece) I went online and this site had the best photo's and once I clicked on the part the perfect size I needed. It arrived earlier than expected and the part fit and completed my project. I'll tell my friends. Thanks

I purchased an item and needed it asap. Their regular shipping times were 3-7 business days. I needed the item quick and chose 2nd day thinking this would expedite the shipping and of course get my item to me faster than the 3-7 day delivery estimate. I paid 150% more for this shipping method. Turns out they sent is normal ground post through UPS from a supplier near me. When I found out where it was shipping from and looked at UPS normal shipping estimate page. The estimate for regular shipping was 3 days. Plumbingsupply.com did not expedite anything. I paid for it and they did not provide that service to me. They are refusing to refund the extra shipping fees. This is deceptive practices and this company should not conduct business in this manner. AVOID PURCHASING FROM PLUMBINGSUPPLY.COM THEY ARE DECEPTIVE!

Wow! I wasn't sure quite what I needed so I sent an email to customer service and they were super responsive and extremely helpful. I live over 30 minutes from the nearest store and it was well worth my time to shop with them online.

"HORRIBLE. I spent $60 on a replacement heating element. Well, turns out, this part cannot be returned, even though it didn't work in my unit. Out $60. BEWARE shoppers. Do NOT order replacement elements unless you are prepared to eat the cost if it doesn't work. Even though you install it correctly with water, and not dry install, which they say risks the integrity of the unit. Once again, shoppers BEWARE!"

I ordered a repair kit for a 1B1 toilet fill valve - $4.47 plus $8.95 postage and handling. The part that came was the wrong one. I called sales and they researched it and told me it was the wrong one. They gave me the correct part number and said that I could order it. I asked if I would have to pay the $8.95 postage again and the answer was yes. I would expect them to send me the proper part for free, as they sent me the wrong one in the first place. They lost a customer over $4.47!

High prices, outrageous restocking fee, incredible lack of diversity of staff- no black folks, few brown people, which I find hard to believe for Chico CA. (https://www.plumbingsupply.com/welcome.html). For bathroom hardware I'd go elsewhere, don't know about any other gear they sell.

I had a broken shower drain grate to replace and it was very is hard to find. I contacted the manufacturer and they provide me with part number and referred me to Lowes and Home Deport. Neither one actually had the part and my local plumbing supply company didn't either. I finally found the part online at plumbingsupply.com. I ordered two just so I'd have a backup and they sent me the items faster than I could imagine. I would order form them again and highly recommend them.

They don't directly supply your order and if you need to return an item you need to ship it back to multiple places at your own expense. Stay as far away from them as possible as their customer service is HORRIBLE!

This is your mom and pop shop, but online. The cool thing is that they actually know plumbing and aren't some horribly ignorant customer service-type company. I have to give plumbingsupply.com a great review as they know plumbing and can actually get technical information, outside of the manufacturer's posted illustrations. Not only that, but I received my products extremely quickly (3 days) even with selecting the cheaper "slow" shipping. Good prices, good service.
