Very poor response
January 11, 2019

Very poor customer services. Phone and phone but they never answer so you have to leave a voicemail message. They don't respond to that. Tired emailing but take ages. Quick to take your money but late delivering. Useless.

Super Late. Terrible Service. High Price. Good Product. Inordered the products in December and did not get them until January. The response from playerlayer was late and unprofessional.

Still awaiting a delivery placed in December and a refund from the same month.
- My account details show only open orders with no ability to track progress
- No one answers the phone or returns left voice mail messages (as instructed)
- Using the suggest web form is equally pointless as they still haven't acknowledged or responded to one completed 10 days ago
Avoid using at all costs. There has to be better places to spend your money

Missing Item But Charged For It - Won't Respond To Email or Phone. Hopefully won't have to go to court and waste everyone's time and get this sorted properly and promptly.

AWFUL
November 9, 2018

Placed an order 17th July 18. Still waiting for two items. The company doesn't respond to emails and the phone line rings, you hear a message to thank you for holding then you are cut off.
Unfortunately I can't take my custom elsewhere as this is the PE kit provider for the school my child attends.
If you have a choice I would shop elsewhere.

Unfortunately our child's kit comes from this company it's goid quality when it arrives however despite our son not being able to do games until next week we ordered a new rugby shirt on6/9/18 not in stock unable to preorder when not in stock promised in writing for 26/09/18. Ringing since that day as not showing stock on line and finally someone gets back to say not in stock until 30/10/18 which is a 7 week lead time out of busy season. We needed 4 items which we wanted to order together for post and packing so far we have two items and been charged for each order. The school Rgs Newcastle complained last year and it's not got any better. We have kept the director of PE informed. You never get through to Playerlayer themselves but a handling agency to forward on to player layer and they don't usually respond.Be warned new parents guess your child's size inSeptember and order inJuly you may just about have a Pe kit if your lucky by September.! If school blazer can provide an adequate and decent badged service for schools why can't player layer?
The quality is very good when it arrives but it is the wIt constant emails which is infuriating. I have never dealt with such a disorganised company. Customer service is non existent! N

HORRENDOUS
September 22, 2018

This is the first time I have ever gone looking for a place to write a review in order to warn others!

We've used PLayerLayer for our staff PE kit for the last few years. I took over it last year and couldn't believe how BAD the customer service was. You can never get in touch with them and they don't let you know information. Last year some kit took 5 months to arrive! Apparently due to moving warehouses!?!?! Even though we'd been told it would only be 5 weeks.

This year, I am STILL awaiting kit ordered in June. When ordering, I was assured that the kit would arrive by mid August, in time for my new staff starting in Sept, but here we are again where nobody replies to emails. James Anderson is supposedly in charge of our account, yet no reply now following 4 emails.

I will never use this company again.

Slow slow slow
September 11, 2018

Ordered my son's tracksuit bottoms and PE shorts from here (had to as school uses them). Delivery day came and went (10 days). Kept trying to call and put through to 'overflow' team who couldn't help. Finally received an email saying it will be a further week until i get my order! Surely they know schools go back in September so a good idea would be to get enough stock in! Luckily son in last year of this school so hopefully wont have to order from them again!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I ordered Academy kit over 5 weeks ago, I have chased I dont know how many times and their useless customer service tell me they are just about to be delivered - and then they never are. Very surprised that any club / school / academy uses this awful company.

Very late delivery
September 4, 2018

We had ordered pe kit on 17 August 2018 and they told us you will get your delivery 5-10 working days. We still not get anything yet 5 September 2018 and my Doughar school start tomorrow on 06 September and we not sure how long should we have wait more. I did contact 30 August, 03 September and 04 September 2018 by email and phone called. Each time they told me someone will contact you soon, but no one contact me yet.
I am really disappointed. Why I ordered form them and why schools recommend this company.
Poor poor

I placed an order with this company on 22nd June, it is now 4th September and despite numerous phone calls to a very useless customer services team i still don't have the pe kit i ordered for my daughter, this company has had my money since i placed the order yet after all this time i do not have the goods. My daughters school started using this company 2 years ago, there have been nothing but problems with it. I am shocked that this company is still operating, it is an absolutely shocking way to operate a business.

Anybody involved in a School or University that decides to use this company needs to review their own intelligence. The company is awful from top to bottom. I have repeatedly waited months for kit every school year and when it comes the quality is not great. They take your money but don't have the products to dispatch, I'm sure this is border line illegal. The customer service team are no help and a woman called Barbara Hunter just spouts rubbish to you whenever you contact her. I can't stress enough how much everyone should avoid this company. They will shower you with fake promises and the idea that they are the next big British sports firm. Save yourself the pain and use somebody else.

I ordered a women's quarter zip, mid layer for my daughter on the 10th November 2017 and payment was taken immediately. Twice I contacted them and was reassured that delivery was imminent and the problems were caused by a warehouse move. The item finally arrived on the 12th of January 2018. My daughter is delighted with the item and I was pleased as it was of far superior quality than expected. It also fits well and looks lovely.

Absolutely atrocious
November 20, 2017

As if you need to read on from all of the 1 star reviews... Avoid this company like the plague. If your school or club has made the poor choice of selecting PlayerLayer, ask them to find an alternative. It's seldom you come across a company quite this bad in this day and age.

Shame you can't pick zero stars.

Ordered in august. Delivery date came and went, multiple calls/emails/tweets ignored. So I got in touch with citizens advice who reported them to trading standards which promptly made them reply to me apologising and giving me a new date to which the product would arrive. After that date came and went I've asked for a refund which has just been given. I'm not one for writing reviews but I hope by you lot seeing this it will give you some insight as too how they operate and hopefully can save you time and money by reviewing them. I understand that a lot of schools and unis use them which makes it compulsory to buy from them but if like me it was just a football top you were after go and buy direct from you club. Absolute joke don't waste your time

Oh my! This is the worse company I have ever had dealings with. I've been waiting 28 days for an order that I placed. Multiple emails and phone calls placed in the meantime. I was assured by someone called 'Rob' that he would take it upon himself to find out where my order was and push it through. That was two and a half weeks ago. No response since despite the fact that I have emailed him several times. Don't bother calling because you can't even get through, it goes to an overflow 'out sourced' customer service centre who are as bemused as I am about the lack of communication and customer service. They even said that the company who do the PlayerLayer embroidery couldn't get through to them. Thing is, it was the same last year as well so don't give me this excuse about moving warehouses. Is it an annual event? And if we sit back and think about it for a moment, surely PL are in the luxurious position of being able to estimate quite accurately how many rugby shirts or football socks a school requires. Come on PlayerLayer either refund my money that you took 28 days ago or send the bloomin stuff. Finally, because not everything I wanted was in stock, my order came to less than the qualifying amount for free p&p. So to add insult to injury I was charged a fiver for that as well. And no doubt another fiver when the rugby top is available to order. Terrible, shocking pathetic excuse of a company.

Unfortunately, all the negative reviews here are completely accurate. The worst possible customer service - the excuse given over the past few weeks has been that they've been "transitioning to a new warehouse" - however the failings are no different to those listed here for the past few years. Goods delayed, telephones never answered (other than by an "overflow service" that can't do anything other than make false promises that they'll get someone to call you back), and an attitude that reflects the fact that they know you are a captive customer, because your child's school requires you to buy uniform from them...

If you are a school considering using Playerlayer to supply unform for you - Don't!
