Petco is my preferred pet store for its wide selection of products, knowledgeable staff, and commitment to pet wellness. Whether I'm shopping for food, toys, or grooming supplies, Petco offers everything I need for my furry friends. I appreciate the convenience of their online ordering and in-store pickup options, as well as the frequent sales and discounts available to Petco rewards members.
Petco does let you use coupon received by email and does let you talk to manager at petco alway say that they are busy. And are rude and don't return phone calls neither make you wait on the phone for a long time. I won't being order from them again online. They also delivered my package to the wrong address and give me a problem with it when they made the mistake.
Petco is one of my favorite stores that offer things for pets. I usually buy supplies such as beds and bowls there. I also got a few toys and they were fine. Last time i bough harness and collar - it was on sale, buy 2, get 30% off. My dog looks super cute in them so good purchase. Shipping was super fast!

No issues at these 2 locations. They take their time to brush not shave our pup. I appreciate that since Petsmart immediately go straight to shaving.

Buying online w/this retailer is best way to go with Petco, esp where there's not much competition on pet supplies, although now you must pick up the online order at the local store. Local store is a franchise and prices can be marked up as high as they want. Knew the pricing as had purchased online before - so was aware of cost - bgt the box of aquarium filters online for just over $7 w/local taxes, then picked up the order at nearby store. While there, checked the store price for same box of filters - quite an eye opener as it was $28 before taxes!

You might want to check price at the local store first before going online. Much depends on how much competition there is where you live, as that will keep prices down to where they should be.

I purchased 2 aquarium bubblers. Both of them fell apart once I placed them into the aquarium. The stone crumbled where the tube is connected.
I lost my horse this week and had a prescription en route from Petco. I contacted them to see if I could cancel the order and altho I was not able to return it they still offered a refund. In an age where every company is after every penny they can get here's Petco doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do. What a refreshing change! In the past I have always had great service and fast shipping and the website is easy to navigate and order from as well. As a comparison... Chewy would not do the same for the bottle of Pergolide I had just recieved. They wanted it back but we had already donated it to a local rescue. I am a shopper, with a horse that needed alot of management I had to be price savvy so I can assure you Petco had the best price on the med I was ordering. Petco will always be the first place I shop. Thank you for helping my nightmare week just a little better Petco.

I order from Petco every 1~2 month to get pet food and haven't had bad experiences. I would buy from them much more often but a lot of their supplies go out of stock very quickly so it doesn't leave me much choices but to buy elsewhere or in-store. However, there are a few things I would definitely keep in mind as a customer:
1. Their same day delivery is $35+ and there's very little mention on the product page that the item is delivered by DoorDash. Personally, I don't mind since it's free, but it would've been nice to know sooner as I felt bad not knowing that I had to pay gratuity or tip to the driver which is optional but I felt like a jerk not doing so.
2. They cancel pick-up orders without reason. Although it's usually because they're out of stock, this should be specifically mentioned to the customer. At the end, I still get an email from Petco asking me to rate my item but the item was out of stock so I never got it.
Overall, my expectations are not high for a pet supply store. They get the job done, they delivery my items, customer service treats me with respect so I have no complaints.
I wanted to come here and leave a review because I think most reviews are left only after a bad experience. I really like my local Petco (Eureka, Ca). It's large, clean, organized, well-stocked and the employees are (surprisingly) knowledgeable, helpful and friendly (without coming off fake)
I LOVE getting the 10% discount for shopping and purchasing online and picking up myself at my local store. I only live 10 minutes from Petco so the entire experience is so easy, and the 10% discount is a big incentive for me.
I just did my first online order today through Petco for a rather expensive purchase; a Lay-Z-Boy dog sofa (I know, I know! Ridiculous!).
I chose to order it from Petco over every other online shop, including Wayfair, because
A) they had the best price - at least $25 less than everyone else
B) they got better reviews than Wayfair
C)I'm hoping if there are any issues or problems I'm not at just the whim of a corporation on the phone, I can get help via my local store (this is according to Petco).

Grooming appointment booked at W 92nd and Broadway. I brought my 10 month old Cockapoo puppy for the first grooming session.
The guy groomer Andres Ochoa took her at 11 am. I asked what would it take him to trip her and he said 3 to 4 hours. I left my dog with him and left.
Got a call an hour later at noon and he said she had a bath but got freaked out on hair dryer and this is why she needs to sit there in get dry and its gonna take her another hour or two and another 3 hours from when shes dry.
I did not understand why it would take a 10 month old puppy that much to dry out but i said ok ill come back in about 3 hours to pick her up.
He did not say anything in return neither he confirmed it. This is when i realized something was not right and it is not ok to keep a dog in a small storage cage for that long when her appointment was at 11 am.
At 3 pm ( exactly 4 hours after i left my dog with him) i came over to pick her up and i saw him grooming some other dog and not mine.
I asked him and the girl at the grooming reception where was my dog and if shes ready or not. Groomer was aggravated by my question, turn toward me and said my dog is still in a closed cage waiting to get dry.
I said that this is inappropriate and he cant keep her locked for 4 hours while she surely went dry by noon and he went more apathetic and said he never knows how much it would take him and now he needs to finish the other dog he took and i have to wait another hour and than count 3 hours from then which would had come to 5 h total to my dog being in closed case in storeroom with other upset animals and than another two if im lucky for the haircut.
I said to him i can not allow my 10 month old puppy to sit whole day in case in isolated area with no water waiting for him to find time for her and he freaked out and said ok, take her, i cant do this appointment anymore, went to storage and brought her back, sat her on table, turned around and left. In other words my dog sat there for 4 hours and he refused to start any following work on her.

Sorry it took that long or let me take her now and finish the other dog later, none of this happened except of a direct exposure to complete indifference, disregard and a surreal ignorance toward a customer and its pet.
I filed a complain to several organizations and i just wanted more people to know of this incident and his name. The guys name is Andrea Ochoa, general manager was at vacation and there was no-one interested in listening to me.
None of us deserve this attitude and if you get to choose grooming options, Petco on w92 and Broadway cant be the mentally safe place for your dog

We went to Petco because my daughter wanted a bearded dragon. We decided to go to the Petco in Hollywood and thank goodness we went there. The day before we had gone to pet smart and we had a bad experience. Anyways at Petco an employee named Manny helped us, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. The animals encounters looked great! Manny answered all our questions. We felt very welcome, it seem like if we knew him for years! So if you go to Petco in Hollywood and need assistance ask for Manny he is great!
I have gerbils so I've purchased from petco a few times.

I have shopped at PetCo for many years at many locations and always found the employees very helpful and pleasant. My most recent interaction was beyond good customer service.
I sent PetCo an email letting them know my pet had died and could they please remove me from their mailing list as it made me sad every time they sent me a new advertisement.
First they sent me this nice note back:

I was having to order it at Chewy.com but when I found out Pet Smart sells it I was very happy. Now I just drive over, pick it up and I'm done. The staff at PetCo in Council Bluffs, IA is delightful to visit. They make my visit feel very welcome and provide a wonderful shopping experience. They are friendly, personable, and knowledgable about their animals and products. They always make me laugh or smile, too, with their interesting anecdotes.
This is a must-shop store for everyone with a pet!
While I have shopped at Petco for dog food and some supplies, recently I have been shopping at Petco a lot more and have nothing but good things to say.
For me I usually shop at my local Petco and havent purchased much from their online store, however, Petcos products are always very nicely made and a pretty good price if youre part of their Pals program. If youre not part of their Pals program its super easy to join, however, if you dont want to the prices are still quite fair in comparison to other pet stores. My local Petco is SUPER clean and well kept up, something I want to see in any pet store I will even consider shopping at. As for the quality of products within the store, I think just about everything they carry is very nice. Now, of course, I havent actually tried every single product Petco carries, however, through looking at what I see on the shelves, hold, and some have purchased, theyre all quite nice. While my dog sadly doesnt play with toys Im never really in the toy aisle, however, Petcos online store holds many cute dogs toys and if you read the reviews youre sure to find something nice.
I personally havent purchased live aquatic life from Petco, however, seeing from how theyre cared for at my Petco they seem pretty nice. Also, along with fish and whatnot we have small animals which look well cared for and healthy.
I have included photos of some things I have purchased through Petco, all are not recent purchases but go to show how well made their products are. Recently I also got my dog some cow ears from Petco which were very nice and she loves them.
Overall, the products that Petco offers is very nice and its a great place to shop for your pet.
As for the grooming at my local Petco, its very nice. Ive only taken my dog to the groomer a few times but every time she comes out looking nice and well groomed. While I cannot speak for all Petcos around the nation, my local Petco has a very nice grooming crew.

*if you're using the online shop, as with anything, always read the reviews because they can really save you money and trouble [like the dog toys for example, if people say it's easily torn apart take note]
I have 25 animals I care for. 4 are dogs and 8 are cats (5 strays). I've priced getting in the car, going to a store, buying the supplies I need, driving back, etc. In time and money, Petco is actually less costly and light-years more convenient. It all comes right to the door - automatically - just when I need it! I haven't seen the inside of a pet store in years! Check it out!

Petco is a good place to shop and has some great price's but I shop at PetSmart. They both have a variety of dog food as well as toys for them. There staff is there to help.
I shop almost every other week at Petco for mostly dog chews and chews that clean my puppies' teeth. Everyone is always so very helpful. Everyone is always very friendly as well. I would highly recommend Petco to everyone for their pet shopping needs.
Never a problem at the store. Friendly staff, very well stocked store. Napa County. Plus, they have an onsite no kill cat shelter, where they take animals, that are out of time and going to be killed at public animal shelters. We have a gaggle of cats from there and love them all. Smart critters too. Very intelligent animals.
I have ordered online when I can't find the exact thing I want in the Petco store, i. E. a collar for my Boston Terrier, Trixie. I wanted a pink collar with lots of bling in a medium size. The store was out of that size, so I ordered online, plus some other things I found and ordered with the collar. I get excellent service online or in the Petco store. Good range of products.
I finally found a pet store that is so knowledgeable and the staff is so friendly. I tried pet supermarket, and petsmart. They never crack a smile or have no knowledge. The atmosphere is so cold. Kudos to petco! I will definitely do business with them again!
