Petco does let you use coupon received by email and does let you talk to manager at petco alway say that they are busy. And are rude and don't return phone calls neither make you wait on the phone for a long time. I won't being order from them again online. They also delivered my package to the wrong address and give me a problem with it when they made the mistake.

I have been taking my Sheltie every couple of weeks to the groomer for a year. I recently scheduled in advance to take him in. Six hours before his appointment at 2:03 am I received a text stating that the appointment had been canceled. I rescheduled and 3 hours later it was canceled. I called and the answer I received for the cancellations was (I don't know why). Surprised at the answer I replied well I will call someone else and her reply was OK. I suggest before you get this treatment find a company who wants your business.

I took my dog to Petco before today for grooming. The Grooming experience was so bad that I received a full refund and was assured by the grooming manager (Kim) that she would personally groom Emma the next time. I made an appointment for Emma to be groomed today with the grooming manager at Petco in Myrtle Beach. Since Kim had assured me that she would personally groom Emma, I put full confidence in her grooming abilities. Kim was shown a picture of what Emma was to be cut like. Emma is a Peek A Tese which should never be cut short. Kim was specifically told today not to cut Emma short and Do Not cut her ears short. When my daughter picked up Emma this afternoon, she was treated very rudely by Petco employees. If I had been the one to pick Emma up, I would have refused to pay for her cut again today. Emma is cut short and chopped up so bad except her hair on top of her head is parted in the middle. SMH. Her ears are cut short after specifically telling Kim to not cut Emma's ears short. Emma's back paw doesn't match the other three. I've never been so disappointed in a grooming job. It was even worse the second go around than it was the first time I took her there. At my last visit to Petco in Myrtle Beach,when looking in the window all the long haired dogs had the exact same cut. It's like the groomers are taught to cut one specific way even though you asked for something specific and show them pictures. That does not do any good. I also was charged $10 more for this grooming.

I went in to buy baby crickets and they told me. They can't sell them to me because it's for for their reptiles I've done had 2 of my baby lizards die now I've got one baby left and can't get any baby crickets from petco now my last baby lizard might die cause they refuse to sale me small crickets to feed him... petco doesn't care if they die so I'm out of money cause they won't replace my lizards if they die. All I ask is customers that bread lizards are able to by small crickets or they replace the lizards that die do to them refusing to sell small crickets to customers

I placed an online order and was charged a $42 surcharge because my address uses USPS. This was done without my knowledge. When I noticed the charge all they offered to do for me is have me return the items and they will process a refund minus the surcharge when they get it back and processed. Horrible customer service. They lost a faithful customer today!

I returned a dead fish and was interrogated by the associate and determined my 10 gallon aquarium with 4 small fish is overcrowded and refused to sell me fish. I have been buying fish and cat supplies there for 18 years. I talked to manager Ashley and stuck by her associate decision not to sell me fish. They were anything but nice to me. Very bad experience!

We purchased an aquarium as a Christmas present for my son, upon opening on Christmas we found it was damaged. The purchase date was in longer that 30 days ago, therefore they would not exchange it. There only solution was to purchase another, great sales pitch. Don't support these stores

I always purchase the science diet dog food and if you buy 12 you get 20% off, but if that $#*! of a manager is there and checks you forget it, he argues with you and if an associate is there and as asks for permission to give the discount he will look at the customer and say"I don't know them" and "no discount for them." I will never shop in that store again!

When I was perusing items to purchase on 1/2/24, the site says Get It By January 5th. When I added the items to my cart the message said Delivered by January 5th. When I purchased my items on 1/2/24 the message said Delivers by January 5th. It stand out, it green font. On 1/3/24 I got an email saying order shipped. Yay! When I hit the tracking link it said Delivered by January 11th?!?.

When I checked things out further, my order was Free, Standard Shipping. I'm used to Chewy's Free Standard Shipping where things I order are 50 miles away and they Fed-Ex it (yes, Chewy's default is Fed-Ex) and I get it the next day. But Petco's default is using UPS SurePost. Per UPS SurePost website, it is used "for your non-urgent, business to consumer needs of low value." I think that sums it up so far. Chewy makes me feel valued, Petco tells me I'll get my items in 2 days til I pay for them then they say "oh, we were just kidding. The fine print says 2 to 7 business days".

Per Petco.com, "We have 9 distribution centers strategically located throughout the United States."

Unlike Chewy, where my items start 50 miles away from me, Petco.com shipped my items from 2,800 miles away and used a non-urgent mode of shipping to send them to me. That's my first impression of Petco. There is a distribution center in NJ, I'm in PA, but they ship my items from Tacoma WA.

So I've been taking print screens each day as I track my order as it slowly trudges across the country. It's apparently close to me now, so maybe I will get it on January 11th, as they indicated AFTER I paid for the order. But that's not January 5th that they indicated BEFORE I paid for the order. Now I feel Petco may be misleading and may not value me as a customer. I KNOW Chewy values me as a customer and has been extremely helpful if I have a return, etc. I haven't even gotten my items from Petco yet and we feel like it's a bad experience.

I didn't know they had so many bad reviews here on sitejabber either. Here's one more.

Since I don't have a local Petco I thought I'd try them since I found a coupon through krazycouponlady, which creates brand awareness. I am now aware of the Petco brand and I'm not impressed. Although I haven't yet received my items I have been recommended via email to buy other items, sign up for their affiliates like freeshipping.com, and other ways to purchase more stuff.

Hopefully the items will be as expected if they do arrive tomorrow, 6 days after Petco stated they would be delivered by. Good luck everyone.

Tip for consumers:
I wouldn't recommend trusting the date Petco.com puts after "Delivers by". I'd go with the high end of their 2 to 7 business day shipping policy. They should put a date range, not the best case scenario delivery date especially if they know they're shipping it via UPS SurePost from 2,800 miles away.

I started with an email from them saying I could get 40% off for a repeat order. On their website that became 35% off. In check out it became 5% off! I then got on a chat with them and after 20 minutes of back-and-forth they said they'd give me my 35% off as a one time thing. But when I went to check out, it actually had me making a donation to them as well! This is very disappointing to me because it's easy for me to get my dog food from Petco and now I feel in order to show them that this is not acceptable, I need to change the store I buy from. I decided not to be party to this scam! Be wary of the actual percent off that you get!

Tip for consumers:
I've had this experience with other companies online as well, but just haven't said anything about it. I think consumers don't know what to do when faced with shifting prices and percentages online. If they want the product enough, they'll buy it. I'm tired of this, and think the companies need to be held accountable.

I ended up not purchasing anything, because I got so frustrated with the percentage off changing.

This business does not take care of their leopard geckos. They have put them on sand (which can kill them if digested), have multiple in one tank (very stressful), have only one hide (that I wouldn't even call a hide, due to the fact that it is CUT IN HALF so you can see inside), and multiple tanks had dirty water bowls, as well as live and dead crickets sitting in the tank. This in all is horrible leopard gecko care, and is a horrible example for new leopard gecko owners. Please do not shop here!

I have bought a leopard gecko from them (my profile photo). When I got her she was skinny, and had leftover shedded skin stuck on her, from a lack of proper shedding hides + places. I should not have supported this business, but I felt as though I could not leave her in that position. Please do not do what I did.

I made an appt for my dog to just get a bath only. I get there they are trying to for add ins. I say no politely 5 times. The intake guy then goes to get her manager, she then tries to force add ons. I finally get pissed off. She is telling me that she can't bath my dog without the add on. I tell her to show me that in writing. She then walks it back & took my dog in. These are shady unlawful tactics to get extra money out of customers. I not the one. I'm going to corporate.

Called to cancel Monthy membership. Was told yes they can cancel at the renewal date of April 2024 and would have to continue to pay monthly until then despite due to bidenomics and other financial restrictions, was unable to continue payment... After telling them I would be.getting an attorney, calling the BBB,going to every social media outlet I could think of as well.as local news... they finally canceled my Membership. They are more concerned with $$$ not the customer.

We ordered dog food and had it on auto ship every 3 weeks. Last week it was supposed to be shipped 10/4. Now on 10/6 my dogs ran out of food. I called customer service and they told me the store was out of stock. (Which was a lie) while they had me on hold I called the store from my husbands phone and asked them if they had the food in stock. By that time the customer service rep who just told me they called the store and were told they where out of stock the gentleman from the store told me on speaker phone they were not out of stock, and they were not out of stock on that food for quite a while. Customers service then told me they would contact the store and it would be on my door step the very next day. That call took place 10/9. So on 10/10 the food still did not arrive. I drove a half hour to the store and bought a small bag. Hopefully it comes tomorrow but I highly doubt it. Don't sign up for reoccurring shipments because your pet will starve before you get your order. I'm switching their food to something that isn't a pet I brand so this won't happen anymore. Buyer beware don't rely on them to have your shipment when you need and their customer support will lie to try to get out of being at fault or make the mistake right.

Petco website does not work every single time I try to log in, then chat with customer service, send the password reset link, try to do that new password and can't go beyond it because the web page for this does not save my new PW and nothing happens. The customer service person says they'll escalate to tech people and will let us know. No one contacts us and nothing is resolved. It's been happening all of 2022 and I've gone through this process at least 10 times already.

Tip for consumers:
I don't know what else to do and if someone can help me. I would love it.

If I could get on my account, I could order things. But I can't, so nothing happens.

I have personally made 5 separate comments regarding the leopard gecko enclosures at the location in Carlsbad off of Vista Way. They are kept in fine grain sand which can cause severe ailments including metabolic bone disorder which is irreversible. It would take 20 minutes of time and materials on site not 5 feet from the habitat to fix this issue. This petco location is actively killing the animals they're trying to profit from and refuse to make this simple change for the good of the animal.

Buy from somewhere who meets animals most basic needs.

After having my dog groomed several times at pet co and using my phone number for pet co benefits I was informed today that you only get benefits if you use their app. No one has ever told me this before. Not the regular cashiers or the grooming department. I called their customer service and was told that all the times I have spent over $100 to groom my dog does not count. I like the groomer I use there and because my dog is older and likes her I will keep going to her. I will not spend another penny at pet co for anything else. I will buy everything else somewhere else. This is not a good company and does not care about their customers. Some other pet store will benefit now.

I ordered something from Petco here in the town I live in. I don't drive so I figured have them ship it it shouldn't take long. Well it now shows shipping label created and I ordered it 5 days ago. Ups is saying Thursday is when I should get it. 9 days seems ridiculous when it is ordered from same town. It isn't even a very big town. Next time I will order from Amazon they are much faster.

I purchased a leather dog collar for my Boston at my local Petco store. It didn't fit. I didn't get back right away to exchange for a larger size because I traveled out of state and then came back and came down with COVID. When I returned approximately 45 days later, Petco refused to exchange the item for the larger size. All the tags were on it and I had the receipt. When I called corporate, they were unyielding and held to their "strict 30 day policy". I was sick for weeks and did not want to infect others. Petco just lost a customer. Clearly this company does not care about their customer base.

Petco has ads all over the internet searches selling Renew Gold for horses at 24.04 and yet when you click on it to try to make the purchase Petco charges 36.99 instead. Even if you call customer service they tell you they can't sell it for 24.04 and they challenge you on where you saw their ad price, when told them I saved a screen shot of it and can send it to them then they tell you if you create an account with them you will get a discount equal to giving you the ad price. I created that account and the price still showed the higher price and the customer service person said there is nothing they can do except charge me the higher price and later send me a discount in a partial refund. I'm not stupid. No way are they getting me to click Buy Now at that price and trust them to adjust the price later.

Tip for consumers:
That petco's ads are just bait, they charge a far higher price than they claim.

Products used:
NONE thanks to the lies in the ads and from customer service whose story changed several times during a long conversation trying to con me to buy at a higher price than their ad.

Bought a life jacket for my retriver and it never kept him afloat, petco told me to call Canadian tire and Canadian tire told me to call petco, never got my money back waste of $50 customer service was terrible

Beware of ordering online for this place and check your payment method after you receive your shipment. Part of my order was missing, and they double-billed me for the same order. I never received any message that there were items I had ordered that were not going to ship. You don't find that out till you receive your package. When contacting them about being doubled bill I'm told they will look into it and get to me. Never heard from them again. I'm done with Petco this was my first order and it is going to be my last I'll never place an order with them again.

Tip for consumers:
When they charge twice for the same order the value goes out the door.

I attempted to order something from Petco on line. The order was never placed. I was charged for the order. I attempted to get a refund. They not only refused to give me my money back, they stated that I came into the store and made a purchase. Unbelievable. Won't use their on line again. Use at your own risk, they are not helpful.

On Sunday evening went to Petco at Killingly Common's in Dayville, CT. With my 7 yr old son who got a starter fish tank for Christmas. The associate in the fish dept. literally refused to sell me any fish stating the tank was too small even for a few neons. This not only crushed my 7 yr. Old but infuriated me. She was basically rude, far from helpful and I will never go back there. I'd add proof of purchase but..
