I purchased sneakers from the RCL Market not realizing that it's not actually Penningtons. A return can not be done at a local store. With the mail strike I was told to keep them and they would return my money. Now more than a month later they have changed their mind, even though I was told to donate them ad I did do. So buyer beware
I placed an order and something was wrong with their site...I kept putting my address in and it kept reverting to my old address. After the 3rd time it appeared that my address stuck so I placed the order. I got a confirmation that my stuff was delivered to my old address in a town 4 hours away.
The company said nope nothing we can do...and I said qell there is another order that is still being put together can you at least change the address on that order so it comes to me...I was told no nothing they can do even though it has not left their facility. The only way anything can be done is if it's returned to the company...
The house my order went to I got my father in law to go there and they denied receiving it even though purolator confirmed it was delivered...so I guess I am out that money...but the fact that they cannot change my address for the stuff that is still there basically telling me that it sucks to be me.horrible customer service...and I am disabled and had to use my birthday money to order because I cannot afford to buy clothes myself.I have been in tears all day
I ordered two dresses from Pennington's online. The first dress arrived promptly. I wasn't notified the second dress had been sent. In fact, when I spoke to a gentlemen at their 800 number a week and a half ago, he said I should be receiving it "next week". Today I found out the dress was delivered three weeks ago? But not delivered to my door. Instead it was left on the floor of my condo building's mail room and apparently stolen. The person I spoke with at Pennington's basically told me it had been delivered and that was that from their point of view. I am out the cost of a dress. You can be sure I will never buy from them again.
Really terrific service at the Sherwood Park location in Emerald Hills. A petite Asian lady measured me for a bra and tirelessly brought me bra after bra, looking for the perfect fit. She had expert knowledge of her product. I paid $500 for three pairs of pants, two t-shirts, four bras, eight pairs of socks, and a shirt. I would say that is good value for the money spent. I was able to find pants in my size with petite leg length, which is absolutely crucial, and is why I go to Pennington's in the first place.
BEWARE! If you order online and Canada Post delivers it to the wrong address, and the package is never returned to Pennington's, well, it's too bad, so sad, you do not get a refund. YEP! Pennington's customer service is bad.
The quality and style of their clothes have gone down hill a lot, All clothes now are cheap imports made from cheap labour and fabric.
I think it's time to find somewhere else to shop!
I'm posting this review as I bought boots and wore them but they ripped, the Peterborough customer service was friendly and never gave me any problems whatsoever and immediately helped with the problem. They gave me a refund. There's not many stores that stand behind their products but I'm so happy with their attention and help. Makes me look forward to purchasing in the future from this store. Just shopped at Penningtons in Thunder Bay. A young girl named Callie served us. I can't say enough about the service we received. She was so helpful and was always smiling. She deserves a big raise. I will shop there always.
Penningtons- purchased winter boots at the end of September in time before my size sold out, I have big feet so have to plan ahead as many shoe shops don't hold many large sizes. By the end of December the right boot fell apart. Penningtons would NOT exchange, refund or admit a default in a pair of boots that lasted just 3 months. They claim their exchange policy is 60 days after purchase, fair enough but I would expect a $150.00 pair of boots to last longer then 3 months. Shame on you penningtons, this was not due to wear and tear this IMO was a fault. Its a shame that other stores do not offer wide leg wide fitting shoes as I would have shopped else where. Save ya money people and try find another store who has better aftercare for faulty goods.
I sent them an email last year regarding coats with fur. This year, they have a coat with fur again with the logo, Responsible! There is no need to have real fur for fashion statement. I have been a customer with Penningtons for decades. I have opened my eyes to realize the Clothing quality is no better than bargain store quality. I can get a Columbia coat all decked out for same price as Penningtons and synthetic down.
So disappointed with Penningtons. Many people, companies and countries are coming to realize that animal cruelty is not cool and especially when it comes to fashion, makeup and household cleaning products. Come on Penningtons! Be a leader and stop animal cruelty, no to down and fur for fashion!
I haven't been to PENNINGTONS in over 10 years because I found the clothing to be very boxy and not made for a woman with my curves... anyway I finally go back to get one item and end up buying underwear... I wasn't impressed after a few min of wearing them, they got really loose like they should be sizes bigger than what I got and the material felt like something you would get in a dollar store. Very thin. For the amount of money they charge for their clothing you would think they would have better quality material.

I ordered on Dec 27. I live in Ontario. On Jan 9 I got an email "sorry we missed you" - nobody called me, even though I provided full contact information. Next thing I know, the tracker says it's on its way to Edmonton, Alberta! "Address error" - somehow, the label was printed as "20" instead of "2" but again, nobody called me and since I use autofill, I did not make a mistake.
The customer "service" rep was useless. He kept insisting I would get it tomorrow until I read out from the tracker that it's going to some place in Edmonton tomorrow, not mine. Then the story changes - despite the email, he can't see anything until it is returned to the store. He couldn't give me a delivery time because "it depends on Canada Post".
I said cancel it, then, because frankly the ship's sailed and I have no use for it any more. Nope - can't do that, either.
I NEVER EVER had these problems with Reitmans!

Being served by Tainisha at Trainyards in Ottawa was a real pleasure. Her expertise and honesty were welcoming and comforting, and her suggestions to try on items in various sizes proved beneficial to me as well as to the bottom line of the store. Her smarts and sales savvy will gladly make me shop at this location again. Brava, Tainisha! Penningtons is lucky to have you!
Not much selection. Esp in shoes/sandals, staff made sure i heard she was supposed to have her break, she started by crediting my visa for a dress i returned, then left, the 2nd girl was not helpful at all, took her time to figure out what the first girl did regarding my refund. I just felt like i was in the way. A third girl was there, but i think just visiting with the 2nd girl. What a nighmare.
I have ordered my stuff and since last 10 months i haven't received my order and i am still able to see the same status that the order is on the way and if calls and ask them then they don't have any answer for it and are saying there is no refund for you or no items you are going to receive.
I have been a customer for many, many years and am saddened by the lack of style at Pennington's these past five years. I find most tops and dresses look like a big old sack, without form or definition, instead just looking frumpy. I like to dress in style, formfitting, yet classy. Also, Big women can be sexy, so let's see that!
The staff are always friendly and helpful, but the selections are bah humbug (except bras, they are great!).
The first time I ordered online from them and returned two items of clothing that did not fit... I get rrfunded for online 1. I contact them and apparently the second piece gets sent to a different warehouse and that refund takes several days more. So disorganized. Then i get another package that did not include a return slip, and it takes them 7-10 days after you contact them to send you a new shipping label. What the heck are they doing that takes so long. Of course your 30 days to return the items is not extended, even if you waited half that time for them. They honestly need to up their game or the online store will close just like the in person ones have been doing.
I am very upset. I purchased 7 items on line yesterday and out of seven items they cancelled six. I found that very insulting because when I went to check on line the items are back at regular price. Purchase a pair of boots at 20.98$ yesterday, receive email for my purchase, all is good. Received an email at 9:04 Am this morning saying items out of stock. I go online the boots are available in stock back at regular price 95$. All the 6 items they cancelled ( out of stock) are back at regular price. This is terrible advertisement and I am going to make a complaint to the consumer protection. They are not allowed to do that.
The staff at my local store in Woodbridge are fabulous; however, the quality of the products has hit rock bottom while the prices climb. The cotton tops that I bought are so thin that you can see through them like fine porcelain! Packing jackets are filled with thin polyester but are charged what a down filled one used to cost. I am really writing about the service received from an online order. Shipped from London and heading to Toronto. Never received it. Canada Post says that they never got the package and Penningtons is blaming Canada Post. Which is fine, however they are not willing to make it right. They want me to wait a full month and then they will refund me, and I can then buy it back at full price, e-mail them, and hope that they will then refund me the difference. Like anything will even be in stock by then! I begged him to replace the order now at the sale price and I was willing to pay again and then wait for the refund. I just wanted the clothes! He point blank refused. If I wanted the clothes now, I would have to pay full price for them. They do not care one bit about customer satisfaction!

Yesterday I attempted to purchase 3 nightgowns with prices ending in $0.95. The total purchase was over $100 before taxes and shipping. I attempted to enter the coupon code and I got an error message. I telephoned Pennington's Customer Service and the representative got the same result when he tried the same order and coupon code. He contacted his Marketing Department for another coupon code. Their answer was that the coupon did not apply to this brand of clothing (inVoglio). This was not stipulated on the coupon. False advertising.
