Being involved with e-commerce for 26 years and using multiple e-commerce platforms over the years, We have found website developers to be flaky for lack of a better term. Many will promise you the world upfront to obtain your business but at some point fall flat or disappear altogether.

When looking for a new web developer that was familiar with the Shopify platform, we found Pelican Commerce. We were using Magento for the past 6 years and had to make a decision... upgrade to Magento 2.4 and deal with the expense and aggravation of upgrading or switch to a different E-Commerce platform altogether which means migrating customers, order history, products, payments, google search, additional apps such as text chat and things we hadn't even thought of as well as learning how to work with a new to us platform. Magento offers a ton of flexibility but is also very complex and not user friendly... you essentially need to have a web developer on retainer to get even the smallest features implemented and fixed as they rarely work perfectly on the first try.

We were always impressed with how the Shopify platform seemed easy to use from an end user perspective and after speaking to Daniel at Pelican Commerce during our initial phone meeting, We felt confident that Shopify was the platform we wanted to use. Daniel gave us an overview of the time needed and costs and exactly the services they provide. We felt the costs were reasonable and the time frame from start to finish was also quicker than we had initially figured.

To say we were impressed is an understatement. Daniel and his staff know Shopify inside out. They handled the special features our somewhat intricate websites needed including multiple e-commerce store fronts, adding the option of multiple product attributes, handling both physical shipped merchandise as well as virtual services that do not require shipping, handling multiple variations of the same products and services which Shopify does not innately offer as well as adding a custom payment form. An initial time estimate of 4 to 8 weeks for the completion of the first site ended up being just under 5 weeks to go live.

We always expect a few bugs before everything is working 100% and Daniel was accessible almost immediately upon email and phone contact including weekends. The few minor issues that we encountered with a 3rd party app were resolved quickly and we are 100% satisfied with the end result.

We recommend contacting Pelican Commerce for your e-commerce needs as they are a shining star in their field.

Our e-commerce website was in the midst of a rebrand and change to a new URL. As you might imagine, we were terrified at the prospect of the many things that could go wrong with the transition of URLs from our current website to our new website.

I cannot state strongly enough how wonderful it was to work with Pelican! They held our hand the entire way, even through the inevitable bumps that came up.

We are on a BigCommerce platform which was less than straightforward. Pelican untangled the *very* complicated process of changing our domains, moving it from Wix to GoDaddy and then redirecting our old URL. This type of domain change typically shouldn't be that complicated, but the way BigCommerce is set up made it extremely difficult and confusing. The team at Pelican was so understanding that as an e-commerce company, we couldn't have our website be down - they took the time to focus on our project and expedite it as much as humanly possible to get us back up and running!
They also helped us submit everything to search engines, helped us set up new e-mail hosting, and solved a ton of tiny unexpected problems along the way.

We felt confident every step of the way that they were knowledgable and focused on solving our issues.
