So much bs
September 26, 2020

I've had a paypal account for over 10 years and never had a problem. I signed up for the Cash card a few months ago and signed for direct deposit to get my SSI sent to it. The Cash card is hosted by Wells Fargo but issued by Bancorp. They advertise that you get your pay up to 2 days earlier than traditional banks. I was like cool! Their disclosure also says there is no minimum balance and practically no fees. The only fees are non Moneypass Atm's. My problem started when I sent paypal a message on their facebook page. I was told to call a number, which I found is not for the Cash card and that the first deposit would be held for 1-2 pay periods and then was told an addition 3-5 business days. I even called them and was told the same thing! 1-2 pay periods for ssi is 1-2 months. My family and I will be homeless by then, as I'm the only income currently. I made a complaint with the CFPB. The terms for the Cash card don't match what they told me at all! I'm switching to a different financial institution for my direct deposit. We'll be homeless by then but at least I won't have to deal with this again. I posted a comment on on of their posts and they threatened to block me if I keep it up. I only made one comment. (The black screenshots are from their chat on facebook messenger.)

IN MY OPINION PAY PAL IS THE MOST FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE YOU COULD HAVE WHEN MAKING AN ONLINE PAYMENT! I WOULD VERY VERY STRONGLY ADVIZE YOU NOT TO USE THIS SITE TO MAKE A PAYMENT OR ANY OTHER TRANSACTION WITH YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS.!
I HAVE CONTACTED THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN BUT NO HELP! THE MONEY HAS BEEN REMOVED MY ACCOUNT FOR 3 DAYS AND IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN SENT TO THE RECEIPIENT! NO EMPLOYEE HAS ANY IDEA! THEY KEEP SAYING MY BANK HAS NOT CLEARED IT, WHEN IT HAS ALREADY BEEN TAKEN OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT 3 DAYS AGO! IN MY OPINION THEIR ADS ARE LIES! NO INSTANT ONLINE TRANSACTIONS AS THEY CLAIM! I AS WELL AM GOING TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND MY LAWYER! PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SITE! NOT UNLESS YOU WANT CONSTANT WORRIES ABOUT WHERE YOUR MONEY IS! AND NO ANSWERS! THEN THEY HAD THE NERVE TO SEND ME A SURVEY ON THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Do not use PayPal
April 23, 2021

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT ever use PayPal credit thinking you'll get six-month interest free credit. IT NEVER WORKS AND YOU'LL END UP PAYING INTEREST EVERY MONTH. I've spent hours trying to contact paypal to fix it and apparently it is my fault. Absolute BS.

Paypal takes payments and then holds thoses payment for over a month not allowing you access to those funds. They claim processing issues, but rather are collecting interests on the millions of dollars they have from you and not letting you spend it. SCAM ALERTS Cusotmer service representatives lie and tell oyu it will take a few more days, each time you call to get access to your funds. PAYPAL ploicy is to have you send in smaller payments if you want to see them credited to your account in a timely manner.

PayPal pimps
October 7, 2017

PayPals company objective and function is to make free money from their customers. They promote themselves as a safe way to send your money or pay for things but what they don't tell you is that they try to steal as much of it from you as they can. They have 1001 excuses (literally) of why they have to put a "hold" on every cent that goes into your PayPal account, but they are really all for the same reason. To earn maximum interest for them in the stock market. They even say in their terms or user agreement that they will use our money for that! So you ask a family member to send you money urgently for an emergency and they send it to you via PayPal and what happens? PayPal pimps say they have to put a 21 day hold on your money to make sure you're not a risk to them, (or some other crap). Or you urgently need money for basics like food and so you sell something you own on eBay and it sells but then PayPal say they have to hold your money for an undetermined time because you haven't sold 50+ items on eBay yet. Or your account reaches $1,000 because you already had money in their and then your roommate sends you some to cover their half of the rent and it goes over $1000 by just $1 and your whole account gets frozen until you prove you're not money laundering. It's legal theft.

They have sided with the buyer though they themselves admitted on here that they got their service and even tried to pay me a second time. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS! I WILL NOT---WILL NOT---Pay the "outstanding balance"! You are asking me to pay $18 FEE TO THE CUSTOMER TO WHOM I HAVE ALREADY SERVED! And who has now screwed me out of that payment! Seriously? And this is the second time this has happened to me on PayPal--This is not a safe place for me to do business! I need them to remove the "outstanding balance" because it is wholly UNJUST, or I will simply never use PayPal again. With Cashapp, and other ways to pay, PayPal is not preferred by many of my customers anyway! But this is *******@cked up.

I have a small business that I started, especially during COVID, and one of my customers (who obviously trusts my business) paid for apparel using paypal on my website. Paypal LITERALLY locked my paypal account (even after I showed them proof that my business is legit) and stated the reasoning for "locking" it is due to risky business. Are you kidding me? I have contacted them multiple times and they continued to tell me the same thing with no further explanations because you can't even get in touch with the manager or President. Then they stated my account will be locked for 180 days. That it roughly 6 months. I can't transfer the customer's payment to the corresponding bank account (even after providing sufficient proof of the apparel and receipt, etc) because the account is locked. So basically the client is getting free apparel and my business has to wait 6 months to even retrieve the funds. This has been a NIGHTMARE. Especially trying to grow my business, during a pandemic. Especially, when the item took A LOT of funds to make from scratch (jacket embroidery, stitching fabric, etc) and ship. I had to remove PayPal as an option for payment on my website.
I advise other companies to do the same.

DO NOT USE PAYPAL. They are horrendous and extremely outdated. The funds sitting on the PayPal account that I can't even transfer over is roughly $300.00+. This is ridiculous and so unfortunate, especially during this pandemic.

Pay pal is bragging over what they call "buyers protect" bu that is not valid for distance buy protected by EU regret right so if you can not get right against a seller in EUROPE, you are not protected by Pay pal "buyers protect" and for that reason I am closing any business with Pay pal.

Six years ago I tried to open a PayPal account before I knew anything about them. They repeatedly declined the picture of my ID that I took with my HD Canon Camcorder saying it was too blurry, despite being 1080P soon after that first came out. So I closed my account, this was also when I had a different bank.

Recently on Ebay I got screwed over when doing a guest paypal payment after a six year boycott. It declined both of my cards, neither of which had been attached to the account six years ago. I called customer service and they said my account needed to be verified. $#*! please, I closed that 6 years ago, are you serious? This is exactly why I closed it too. After so many attempts to verify ID they refuse to let you keep trying and then try to mail you stuff but it never sends. So they closed my account.

My cards still got declined. I was with customer service for both cards for a while and made sure all billing addresses matched. Still no avail.

I was in communication with the seller and PayPal gave me one other option: get a PayPal invoice. The seller ignored all of this and cancelled our transaction, and Ebay- Paypal's affiliate, made it impossible to give the seller a bad rating, and warn others in the community about the scam.

The community was even badgering other buyers for complaining about bad sellers and mods were removing content that was negative about sellers!

I had to deposit $ in my ppal account to pay a supplier who only accept paypal for payment overseas... anyways, requested the money be taken from the confirmed bank account on jan. 6... on jan 8th the money was withdrawn and as of today jan 12, the money is still not deposited in my ppal account. Tried to reach customer service... the only way I could without having to hold on for hours on the phone... was to post a comment on the fb page... to which they replied the next day! Telling me it may take up to 7 business days! This is ridiculous... when the $ has been withdrawn... I suspect that Paypal is making a buck with our cash while hanging to it for that long... why would it take that long? I think this should be reported to authorities for abusive practices! This is the end of me with Paypal for sure... I have had worse experience doing business with them and ditched their services... they charge high fees and offer a very poor customer service... when you have a problem... you're basically on your own and have to wait! They do not lift a finger to help. Paypal has enjoyed many years of monopoly for offering this service but competition is growing and I would strongly advise consumers to seek other companies... paypal will eventually let you down... that's the only promise they can keep.

Do NOT transfer money from your PayPal to your bank account unless you can afford to wait for it up to a full WEEK as it sits somewhere in limbo, unaccessible to you. There is no excuse for such antiquated, full service.

I have had to call paypal for a few different issues from time to time. I have been a buyer, seller, and credit user. One occasion, I transferred money to my friend's email address *******@gmail and it *******@hotmail. To reverse this, it usually can take up to 3 days. I called customer service and they immediately reversed it due to my situation. Another time, I ordered from a site called Dress Lily. If you aren't familiar with that site, please look up their reviews. It is a complete scam. I feared I would only get the partial refund the site offered for items that were nothing like what I ordered. The site would not communicate with me. I filed a dispute through paypal. Dress Lily offered me $9 for a refund after returning their merchandise. They business is located in China so shipping it back cost $7. For the $50 I spent, I was going to get $2 back. I refused the partial refund and sent in my evidence of the poorly represented items to paypal. They immediately refunded me my money in FULL. Their staff is very well trained to handle the different situations they are presented with. When you call, they way they speak to you doesn't feel fake. They are very nice and caring people. Paypal is the only company I actually rave about to family and friends. Trust me, if I can complain, I do! I have never had a negative thing to say about paypal.

PayPal withholding funds for no apparent reason Recently charged a customer $2000. 00 USD for services rendered using PayPal Here software and card swiping hardware. Upon logging in to PayPal business account to transfer money to connected business banking account discovered that all but $500.00 USD of the funds were being held for a period of 30 days. This protocol was never explained when I registered for a PayPal business account. Received an error message that indicated a limit had been set on this account. No explanation was offered as to why this limit was set. We are a licensed, bonded and insured business, registered LLC by the Secretary of State of Ohio to conduct business. We have been in business for 10+ years. We never would have used PayPal had we known there would be a 30 day hold on all funds in excess of $500. No legitimate business with accounts receivable and accounts payable could possibly conduct business on this timeline. We are now having to scramble to find a way to move funds to cover the costs we will incur because of this absurd policy that was never communicated. Additionally, of the $500.00 in funds that was permitted to be transferred to the business account, there was a 72 hour hold placed on the transfer. The 72 hour window has now elapsed and those funds have not been released either. This failure to release funds will cost carry repercussions for our business as we will undoubtedly be forced to cover fees and associated charges for transactions that will be returned for insufficient funds.

I was refunded by a supplier however when I checked my credit card the aunt was not presented to my credit card.I emailed and received a response attached below and went to the Bank and presented the below. The Bank CBA was puzzled by the attached instructions and called head office for advise. It appears that the CBA does not have a process for such a transaction and now Im back trying to resolve this.I know tat BetterMe has refunded the amount and I can see the refund in my Paypal Account, but it has not been processed as it does NOT appear in my CBA Credit Card Account as refunded.

I contacted PayPal on the 9th concerning fraudulent tracking number to dispute payment was told I would have to wait till the 17th before they would even escalate to a dispute and then have to wait an additional 7-10 days for resolution I provided PayPal with documentation showing an invalid fake tracking number

Their response was that agreement has changed and that this was the new time frame that they work on

PayPal no longer puts purchaser protection as a priority shame on PayPal they have constantly gone down hill on consumer protection
