Optima Tax Relief

I was going through a difficult time in life. In and out of work. Still trying to keep up with existing financial obligations. Then came tax time and didn't have the money to pay the taxes. Thinking that a permanent job would come but hasn't. Ended up selling our home, started collecting Social Security but still had unfiled taxes. Lots of stress. Called Optima to see what my choices would be. They were very willing to listen and understand my situation. They got all my information and were able to stop any aggressive actions by the IRS. Always explaining what the process would be. I am now current with my IRS filings, and am on an affordable payment plan with the IRS. I understand the process and will make on time payments and file new returns in a timely manner. Stress is better now

During pre-enrollment, an Optima representative informed me that Optima provides state and federal tax debt assistance. I eventually learned from another Optima representative that Optima only helps with federal tax debt. Though I felt duped by this misinformation, I stayed with Optima for two reasons:

1. I paid most of the service fee before learning about this misinformation.
2. I experienced less stress due to the partial support.

Communications with Hai Nguyen seems very confusing and overly aggressive. I tell him my situation and many times I continually repeat myself. He turns my words around and interupts me immediately conveying an aggressive tone and using the IRS and their collection activities as a threat. I have not received any letters from IRS. I just needed assistance after the taxes are filed. This aggressive and manipulative shake down to get me on board is not appreciated. Please help Hai understand his aggressive and condescending tone is an immediate "NO THANK YOU"!

Optima Tax Relief... know nothing about except the excellent radio jingle ads.

I'm the biggest nobody in America. If the IRS is doing anything to pay down the $31T debt why chase after the poor? My case isn't entirely OTR's fault. Friday, I recognized the tenacity of the IRS. My pitiful paycheck reflected the IRS tax levy. Four years ago I trusted OTR to help me. For whatever reason, the IRS deadline came and went. OTR knew about the deadline.
I stopped payment. Only a fool pays for something he didn't get.
Don't tell me OTR cares about their clients. I get it. I'm the biggest nobody in America.
The proof of purchase I have is in the OTR business ledger. 2019.

I've been in their system for almost 4 years with nothing to show for it. I paid $13,000 for their services and all they did was prepared back tax years and I have to get another accountant to do them because they weren't done properly and say I owe more than I actually do. Long story short, they are not good at what they do and outright lie about their services. I settled with the IRS myself after dealing with these clowns for 1/2 of what their last offer to me was for. Customer service doesn't exist in this company and they cannot retain their employees for more than a few months. I've personally had to deal with a dozen different people along the way with each change starting me from scratch. When I called the IRS they told me I was a day away from garnishment and liens because OTR hadn't contacted them on my behalf for the last 6 months. I paid for that service? Now they want to offer me a $650 refund out of the $13,000 I paid them in which I ended getting the case settled….stay away from this company.

I never write reviews but I don't want anybody else to go through the expensive and stressful experience I had with these people. It starts with a positive phone call made by a professional salesman promising you to fix everything.
Over 3 years went by and they were sitting on ALL the paperwork they'd requested from me, every time I called to see what's going on nobody had a clue and they'd promise call backs that never happened.

Once they finally "closed" the case they made an deal with the IRS that I CAN NOT AFFORD!
BUT EVEN WORSE!
They didn't set it up right so after two months the IRS IS NOW THREATENING TO DEFAULT the agreement and I'm even worse off than when this started.

STAY AWAY... THEY RUINED MY YEAR..

I employed Optima tax back in 2022 to assist me with an IRS discrepancy. I was awarded an injury lawsuit which is nontaxable in the state of New Jersey, the IRS taxed the injury lawsuit and held my last 4 years of taxes due to their oversight, I paid Optima Tax way over 5,000 dollars to assist me so the IRS would release my 4 years of taxes they have been holding on to. Optima tax was paid in full for their assistance please note and no resolution to date. IRS sent me a letter explaining to me what documents they needed for a redetermination to be able to receive my last 4 years of held taxes. I sent them everything they needed myself, the same documents they requested from Optima Tax which I was not informed. I found out once Optima received their full payment Optima tax closed my case out.

So far I have had a wonderful experience with Optima's on-boarding, investigation, and resolution process stages.

They are organized and understanding as to my situation and are fighting to provide me with what I feel I qualify for based on my specific hardship circumstances with an OIC / Hardship.

Everyone has been very professional and helpful along this journey. I am expecting great results and highly believe they will be attainable to save me from almost all my tax obligation considering my circumstances via a compromised offer.

I was impressed with her care and concern for the pressure I was feeling about the delinquent taxes and hunting the information necessary to complete the forms. She assure me we could get through the filing procedure together. She provided form numbers and locations for obtaining them. She insisted that I take each blank and each form one at a time and not allow myself to get overwhelmed by simply taking one question at a time. Very patient and reassuring that I had come to the right company for tax assistance. Made me feel like a real customer and not a job number and that she was concerned about my case and any questions I may have. My Experience with Optima Tax program was one of a kind professional service. They. Walked me thru with great detail, and explained everything to me. All of there staff were very professional. And my out come was very positive. All. My questions were answered as well. And all my appointments were kept. No time wasted. And I managed to reach my goal in stopping any kind of garnishment, and prevented any kind of account freezes that could have happened. And also now has bought me a lot of time to pay back the IRS. I've been trying to get this tax situation taken care of and I've honestly been afraid. I live pay check to pay check still as a nurse, but during the pandemic I was required to work more hours and received Pandemic Covid pay for my service. I owed taxes at the end of the year.
