They sent the wrong material first, but very quickly made it right without me having to return the wrong material. Super good service and I will use them again.
I ordered several custom cut AL. Some of them were distorted, not flat. I don't know if it was from the cutting or the shipping. I've ordered before and usually I'm happy.
If they don't carry it, you probably don't need it. Impressive inventory of shapes, sizes and alloys.
This was one of my few orders from Online Metals. I make musical instruments, so I do more woodwork than metalwork but, once in a while I have to fabricate banjo hardware. I have bought brass to make my own parts before, and I have never been disappointed. This time was no exception. The parts were delivered to me quickly and I got to continue my building much faster than I had anticipated. The main two holdups in instrument making are having to wait on something to dry (glue, lacquer, etc.) and waiting on hardware to arrive. The wait for this hardware was very short.

Excellent! I only do a few projects a year using steel or aluminum. Before I started dealing with OnlineMetals I would have to buy something close to what I wanted and modify it to make it fit. Your custom cut service is great. I can buy exactly what I need. Your packaging is outstanding! Your shipping is miraculous! I don't know how you do it, but you get my order to my house in record time, every time! You provide me with shipping options to save me money! Super! The selection of material you offer is incredible! When I want to build something I don't even look at the big box stores anymore. I just grab my phone and order what I need from you!

I don't have the time to go drive 45-60 minutes one way to buy small quantities, so onlinemetals is great. The $10 extra fees on my $20 order is well worth the convenience of picking exactly what I want online and having it delivered to my door within a week. Local hardware stores might have some of what I want, but they charge 3x the amount. One issue I have is that in the past 42" lengths were sold as the deal for shipping rates, but this seems to have disappeared? On this last order I purchased 36" lengths, as shipping for the 48" lengths was 2x more.

The material was exactly as I ordered and showed up on time. The 1/4" rods needed to be better wrapped. The ends of the tube gave way as soon as I picked up the package. Everything else was perfect.

It was fine. I really don't order on line that much and am thankful when I can get in and out without a hassle. I do call the phone when I have a problem and can do "chat". But my favorite is live people who are kind, courteous and still employed.
