Poor overall experience. Difficulties with online ordering, lack of a contact phoine number in Seattle. No notice that the material had arrived and it sits there for days until I chase it up... by email! Which is not efficient for ME. It's like you guys are specializing in Sales Prevention. Too many obstacles in my path to purchase.
I have been hotrodding cars for over 30 years, mostly pre-war street rods. My '37 and '38 Chevys required a lot of fabrication to install all the modern touches. Projects like these require materials not ordinarily available from the local hardware store. This is where OnlineMetals saves the day.

I needed some aluminum channel and angled, various odd items to proto some things I'm working with in Ham Radio. Things like this are not available down the street and dealing with large metal distributors in the closest big town is a major trip. Those folks at the city desk have a hard time dealing the little onesies and twosies of a guy like me. Online Metasl fits the bill. Website is easy to navigate and shipping was just as expected. I order from OnlineMetals when I need material fairly quickly and the order is not too large. If either of these is not the case I order from Midwest Steel and Aluminum. If schedule is key, I order from McMaster. Online is sort of in the middle. I have never had a problem with material from Online and will continue to order from them as appropriate.

Only time I ever had a shipment gone wrong. Wrong material was sent. Called them up and they shipped out the correct order same day. Great customer service!

They stopped carrying 1/8" square stainless on the website. But found a supply very quickly for me via online chat, and at a fair price.

My package was lost by UPS, and once a claim was filed Online Metals shipped out replacement parts pretty quickly.

This simple purchase was complicated due to fact I placed it in the middle of your discount revisions. Attempts to do it on-line would not take my discount code and when I called in to discuss and went through the ordering again your sales agent told me I could get a discount for the code issued for the entire month of January. I said that On-line issued the discount for the entire month and legally they should be bound by this commitment. She put me on hold and went to check on this and came back on line to say the discount is valid and we got the order placed. A time consuming exercise.
